I already own the original Devil May Cry 5 and literally just finished the game last night on my new Series X. It took me forever to finish the game cause I would play it once in a while. I’m a casual gamer. I then went looking into the the Special Edition being that it was meant for next-gen and read about how great it looks especially with Ray Tracing and also you can play Vergil as well. It’s was $39.99 on Microsoft and I went ahead to buy it. (I really like the game, game is one of the best). Once downloaded and I Began playing as Vergil, the game is absolutely the same 4K crispy as original but obviously better on Series X. I also want to mention that the original game definitely gets a boost in resolution on the series x vs one x and looks incredibly gorgeous just as the Special Edition. Honestly speaking, If you already have the original game I would hold off from buying the SE especially if you’re playing the original on the Series X. I honestly paid $39.99 for basically only Ray Tracing features which it isn’t much a huge deal over a already awesome looking game. Just buy the Vergil DLC it’s much cheaper but my curiosity was eating me and I now have two copies of the same game. 😆😆 But one has Ray Tracing capability and other don’t. However it’s an AWESOME GAME a must have....Capcom did an amazing job with Devil May Cry 5.
I feel like DMC5 was massively snubbed by games media, with Resi 2 and Sekiro getting a lot of the limelight in that season. For me it ticks every box in excellent game design and journalists didn't take the chance to highlight how pro-gamer it is, as it avoids many if not all of the major pitfalls and bad deeds seen in modern games.
@@paulpope5157 to be honest exodus wasn't what I was waiting for that moment due to my budget limitations. But when it came out and anthem had given me enough pain I bought exodus to evade the Anthem Effect and I was blown away
I think that's the exact reason why they snubbed it. It's too old school for these journalists. And mind you, I'm not complaining about the fact that it's old school. It's old school gameplay refined to absolute perfection and I absolutely adore it. It's the same reason why Doom Eternal should have won game of the year for 2020. Everybody loved it but it got snubbed when it came to winning GOTY. At this point in my life I find myself enjoying games like DMC5 and Doom Eternal more than games like TLOU 2 or the other "cinematic masterpieces" that are hailed by the game industry these days. Maybe I'm becoming a gaming boomer, I dunno, but I love these games that harken back to the old days but offer old mechanics and gameplay with a modern sheen and refinement. I liked Sekiro as well and Resi 2 but I definitely think DMC5 deserved 2019's GOTY.
I can't believe people didn't pick it for best sound award or whatever it's called still the crowd did get the loudest when it popped up in the list of best action games and it one action game of the year
@@shortycruz4232 I'm a true Capcom fan. I couldn't resist buying DMC5 on PS4 when it launched. 11 years as a DMC fan I waited for this game so I couldn't resist. Bought the PC version last year so I could play it on my laptop and when I eventually buy my PS5 I'll buy the SE. I don't always buy one game multiple times over different consoles, but DMC5 is just an excellent game and is worth having in multiple platforms.
Wow, had to check I hadn’t written your comment! I did the exact same thing and bought DMC5 for my laptop to play on the go. When I get a PS5, I’ll pick this up again. Really good prices for this masterpiece right now. Absolute steal considering how amazing it is 😊
Nice review bro & I got it 2day so yeah a fantastic upgrade on a great game I already owned on my ps4 pro. The ps5 version looks substantial better on my high end oled & that 12o fos mode did run very smooth for me so no complaints there. Even the rt performance mode did look better then the standard mode due to the lighting looking better & more refined imo. A great review as always beo thanks & start sade. 😁🙏👊💯👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have to ask because I can't figure it out. I bought the special edition for the past and cannot for the life of me, figure out how to get Virgil. I checked and double checked if it actually says he's supposed to be in the game and even looked to see if there was another dlc that's supposed to put him in there but all the searching points to him just simply being in the special edition pst version. What exactly do I need to do to access him?
I cant believe the reviews for dmc5 i was looking at it when it first dropped never touched it Played dmc 4 But keft this alone Just orderd the special edition for a nice price cant wait to sink my teeth into this
11 months late is better then never right...To answer your question yes, it comes with Ray Tracing and Dualsense support for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. No Dualsense on the PC version unfortunately.
There is coop, sort of. Basically when you are in a mission you will see other characters in the background doing their own thing but you will not directly have them fight along side you.
Too bad for me i'm just gonna wait a few months until the price drops, i bought DMC5 for PS4 and it cost me a lot, now in Portugal we're all out of money, capcom should have made this a free upgrade for DMC5 PS4 gamers or maybe a discount for them, i think this is not fair😤😡
My oh my, what a simplistic and generic review. It's like someone pushed a button to produce a random generic sounding review. I've come to realize that individual RU-vidrs produce much higher quality of reviews than those that belong to gaming sites like Push Square and IGN.
I couldn't get in to DMC 4 or 5 especially, just seems like every other attack involves juggling your opponents and it actually got boring for me. I wish the 120fps performance mode wasn't so iffy, 95fps on average. But 60fps is amazing!
Wow, that’s a big statement, saying this is 1 of the best action games on PlayStation. It looks alright but looks to be like too much button mashing. It’s on extra so I’ll try it. Not sure it will hold my attention. Mind you, it’s gotta be better then god of war ragnarok. Worst purchase, ever. I keep trying to force myself to finish it and sell it but it’s just too boring. I’m actually playing far cry primal, right now and that’s a million times more fun then shitty gow. Most overhyped boring game ever. Well from 2018 and ragnarok. Gow 1,2,3 are still absolutely incredible.
You know I wonder if these channels are paid by the company to have such good things said about them. Vergil is cool and all but he alone is not worth the price of paying for the same game again especially with no reduction in price. This is why I hate video games now a days they are a giant fuck you to the players. You got more bloody content in dmc4 special edition and that came out years ago and still looks good.
You’re not a devil may cry fan then it’s 40$ and you get better graphics all dlc legendary dark knight mode and Ray tracing that’s a good deal kid learn something before you state a comment Vergil is awesome
@@toren2099 better graphics please the game doesn’t look any better because if you know anything about graphics they hit there near peak around the PS3 era and hit there peak with the ps4. Graphics have basically gotten so realistic now that you can’t improve on them anymore so better graphics is debatable. I hated the realistic graphics anyway for dmc5 because to me the characters of dmc and its world is very reminiscent of a manga our Anime which does not go well with the photorealistic crap at all. You got more content with dmc4 special that came out years ago than you did with this which is just sad. That’s why I bought Vergil for 5 bucks instead of buying the same game twice saves me money.
