Jeremy Tackis I saw him so many times, from the smallest clubs to the largest arenas. Actually got to meet him. A great guy and a true legend. Videos like this are like being there. RIP Ronnie!
@@FrankgNY62 Same for me, seeing him & meeting him. I was at this Holy Diver concert up front nearest to the stage. He was & will always be a legend, and is sadly missed.
This is how song should be performed, no autotune, no voice overlapped, no playback, no bs. This is rare nowadays with all the bs song, no one can perform like this anymore. Dio, wherever your are now, ROCK IN PEACE!!!
You're higher than a giraffe if you think that, and have a really shallow breadth of contemporary music. Dio is a legend, however, plenty of other musicians can perform like that today.
He was sick when this was recorded. Normally, they tuned down as a half step as he got a little older but this night they turned down the full step to help his voice
While working in a music business support industry somewhere in Nashville, the most METAL person I've ever known asked me once how old Dio was. I answered 'Thousands of years old...' in an eerie voice. We all busted out laughing. But yeah, Dio is timeless. He's not just some singer or some dude. He represents something about the human spirit.

Oh how i miss him . No one else can sing like that , and the Prescence on stage will never be forgotten .And the last comment was 2yrs ago . How can we forget him so easily .
I had the luck to see him in 2005 in Germany at the "Bang Your Head open air". Beside his great performance I keept in mind what a great gentleman he was. During the show he repeatedly thanked the audience with the words "we are nothing without you". Very impressing (at least to me)
Mom bought me Rising when i was 6 so yes,i know the king well :) May 16,th will always be dedicated to Ronnie James in my speakers.Only day of the year im up for 24h listening only to him.May we always Rock In Peace my friend :)
Holy diver You've been down too long in the midnight sea Oh what's becomin' of me Ride the tiger You can see his stripes but you know he's clean Oh don't you see what I mean Gotta get away, holy diver, yeah Got shiny diamonds Like the eyes of a cat in the black and blue Something is coming for you, look out Race for the morning You can hide in the sun till you see the light Oh we will pray it's all right Gotta get away, get away Between the velvet lies There's a truth that's hard as steel, yeah The vision never dies Life's a never ending wheel Say, holy diver You're the star of the masquerade No need to look so afraid Jump, jump, jump on the tiger You can feel his heart but you know he's mean Some light can never be seen, yea
REST IN PEACE. Rohnnoe James. This was probably one of the nost humble person i ever met. We all know he was a Satanist but so humble and probably way more christain than swaggert, baker or graham. Rhonnie James was just like all us peasants. All yhe others cant be bothered with us.
Good lord I miss this man. RIP Ronnie. So glad I had the luck to see him live on multiple occasions with his own band and with Heaven and Hell. One of the greatest metal singers of all time.
Melody Cristea lead singer from Liliac. Check them out. She was asked by Wendy Dio to plat at his Cancer fund tribute a few Months ago and requested the Band do Last In Line with an extended Never released version given to her by Wendy and Vinny Appice whom she is also recording with. Vinny and Melody and Sarzo are friends of Melody. Vinny calls Melody a Female reincarnation of RJD- her idol.. They do other Dio covers too. Last IN Line- you won't be sorry. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xxQwjA0amKA.html

There is absolutely no other singer that put more feeling into his music. A true theatrical artist who gave us his all. RIP Ronnie - there will never be another you!
@@papadopaidiagang7085 Good that people like us continue to listen to this great music.. compared to most people I know.. they dont like or wont even try to listen to metal
I had the privilege of seeing Dio live a few times with Black Sabbath but never had the honor of seeing him solo performing his Dio songs. Sucks to have missed out on that but I'm so glad I at least got to see him live several times. Even locked devil horns at one of the shows and got a pick from Iommi!
He is awesome guitarist and respects the work of the original solo of Phil Campbell. Dio voice is not he best here but for me he is one of the best singers in hard rock and heavy metal. Also I love when he sing in Rainbow , Black Sabbath or Elf. A very influential singer in genere. I love old school heavy metal like DIO I don't like modern metal and the sounds of the new studio albums but I respect to musicians.
