seems to me like the BBC recognized that the woman doctor tanked the viewer numbers so they wanted a cheap way to restore that. so when the black doctor and his trans friend tank the viewer numbers again the BBC can just call everyone racist and homophobic and not be held accountable for shitty writing or ruthless agenda pushing
They brought Tennant back to draw the old fans in... obviously they didn't have the confidence in their real agenda without doing this. Classic (tedious) bait and switch...

I have never watched a second of Dr. Who, but seeing this Wheelchair genuinly made me laugh out loud. I honestly expected to see Leslie Nielsen or Mike Myers, because it really looked like one of those productions.
Matt Smith's story arc with Amy and Rory was epic, even tear jerking at times. Just pure inspiring, interesting or fun sci-fi stories. How or why that dropped to this kind of writing is absolutely sad. The decline was visible after Capaldi's first series and Jodie's officially pushed a knife through the heart of the franchise. I've come to terms with the fact I'll never watch this show again, unless I go back to Eccleston, Smith or original Tennant.
Completely agree. For me, the show ended with the 50th special. Matt Smith had one final episode after which was awful and really dark, and I immediately hated the Capaldi era and stopped watching. It just had this really heavy, dark spirit of smug females, social subversion, and male-bashing. Every female character seemed to be either insolent and disrespectful toward the Doctor or just plain man-hating. The gender swapping thing was a step too far.
It was terrible. Smiths Doctor acted like a child and was babysitted by the ponds. Most overrated Doctor of all time. The show died when Tennant regenerated and it looks like he came back to make sure it stays dead.
Go back to the classic series. If it's production values that matter to you, that might be a problem. If it's the writing you're after, you'll wonder why you ever wallowed in the trash that is Doctor Who from 2006 onwards.
"How or why" If you are still asking such questions after all these years and thousands of videos, articles explaining what's going on and why are movies and games turned to shit then i think you don't even deserve the explanation.
@rageagaintstheNWO it was a rhetorical question or at the very least I'm asking how or why the writers think this is a good idea when woke media is failing. It shocks me why they're still doing this garbage when it's been proven that these types of games, movies and series get extremely low ratings and revenue. Surely by now they'd have realised its just not working. I know exactly why it's happening, it just makes zero sense to me, this era of self sabotage. Why? Because its nonsensical. No one enjoys it with the exception of a minority of miserable Twittards.
I feel sad for the people who are long term fans of this series. I remember the old Tom Baker days very fondly from when I was a kid. I can just imagine if they made old Tom engage in this kind of nonsense.
I lost interest in anything new around when Capaldi came in. I just watch the original series, like the Baker era. Even the 7th doctor stuff that people dump on is more 'Who' than this.
With good writers, they could bring back someone like Capaldi, Eccleston, or even McGann, and have a really strong no-nonsense Doctor who doesn't suffer this kind of BS and doesn't take kindly to being insulted by little human women.
@@thejacal2704Tom Baker, and Doctor Who novels written during his era (which, I’ve unfortunately lost long since), made this Yank aware of the Doctor and love him.

1974, Planet of the Spiders: The Doctor had to face his fears. 2023, The Star Beast: The Doctor has to face the fact he is male presenting and misusing pronouns. RIP Dr. Who x
So Donna and her son tell The Doctor, "it's a shame you're not a woman otherwise you'd understand"... But the thing is tho, he WAS a woman just recently plus "The Doctor is neither male nor female" right? "he" can be *BOTH*... So why is the MALE Jason/Rose able to tell him anything because "she's" NOT female either because ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN LOGIC if you're NOT really female you CAN'T "know" what you're supposed to know... This stuff is madness
According to the Timeless Children, the Doctor was originally female, so that is her first and natural gender. But the Doctor needs to be reminded that he's not female enough - by a bloke in a skirt.
@@ifly-fsx if Labour or the SNP had their way yeah. Misgendering someone is a bit of a dick move (accidental isn’t as sometimes it’s hard to tell) but it being a crime is one of the reasons I’m ashamed to be from the UK.
Misgendering someone isn't a dick move. It's referring to someone according to WHAT THEY ARE. Our entire language is based around referring to men as "he" and women as "she". That's how our society works. No need to change it. A physical man with a mental disorder doesn't change the reality that every organ, every cell, in his body is 100% MALE.

He agreed to play the role of Doctor Who and probably had not much say is how the role of the Doctor was portrayed. Look how Hamill was against how Luke was portrayed but he was contractually obliged to follow whatever that egghead said.
As campy as Classic Doctor Who is with its cardboard sets and bubble wrap monsters, they took it seriously with people dying, drama, and stakes. Wheelchair lady who fires knockout darts and explosive rockets (while also being able to cross her legs), would be considered too silly for even the classic show.
@@AshanBhatoa I can't honestly recall an episode of the Classic series that had something so inane as an ordinary wheelchair firing sleep darts and explosive rockets, much less farting aliens from RTD's first run. But I will admit that I dipped out in the McCoy era. Now one may laugh at the cheap low budget effects of the Classic show, but if you find something along the lines of the wheelchair that is story-relevant, let me know.
The thing nobody has pointed out with the pronouns thing is that hairy Grogu speaks perfect English (as they all knew at that point) therefore, if it took offence at being referred to as "he" it was perfectly capable of saying so. But no, self-righteous Lefty to the rescue! As ever, taking offence on behalf of others without even seeking their consent to do so. And the scene with the Doctor lamenting his friend's death seems to sum up the tone of this whole thing - mean-spirited.
Those people are so irritating. I was at a restaurant with my girlfriend having lunch and brought up Demi Lovato talking about how she seems to be losing it and she may be on drugs again. At the time she was using they them pronouns and she said calling extraterrestrials aliens is offensive lol. These 2 women sitting at a table 10 feet away kept interrupting and correcting me each time yelling “THEY!” when I referred to her as she. I was dumbfounded like mind your business. What’s funny is shortly after she started using she/her again. 😂 I swear they heard me say Demi Lovato and were waiting for me to disrespect her by not saying they.
The Meep might have, like many people on this planet, simply not given that much of a fuck towards the English language until someone else brought it up.
The only things I would add to the review are: 1) They told Donna she had a mental breakdown but also left her in charge of how to allocate £166M. This isn't poorly written, it's literally stupid. 2) The husband is written to be as ineffectual, uninteresting, and unmanly as possible. He exists to be bested by all the women around him, even the fake ones.
I remember reading the Star Beast in Doctor Who comics put out by Marvel in the 80's. It didn't have the condescending subplots and messaging beating you over the head, though. That featured Tom Baker's Doctor, though.

I didn’t get it why, upon meeting Donna carrying those boxes, he didn’t just politely walk away. He acted like a weirdo _and_ obeyed her command to turn around and come back.
Having the doctor revert back to David Tennant just screams “WAIT WAIT WAIT OK FINE, SEE? NO MORE WAHMAN, ITS DAVID SEE? SEE?! WE’RE GOOD NOW, RIGHT?” *jingling of the keys*
This was probably the most honest take on this that I've seen, where you aren't feeling the need to self-censor, while walking on eggshells. Good on ya, lad.
Excellent point about how they should have explored the Doctors feelings on being his old self. He undoubtedly felt more of a connection to his Tenth incarnation and he regenerated before he could really reach his potential in that form. What a waste.
I thought the 12th (Matt Smith) doctor always feared regenerating a 13th time because timelords can only regenerate 13 times (mentioned during his last christmas special I believe).
Honestly, I think the 50th anniversary is the perfect ending and finale for New Who and the series as a whole. It wraps up the Time War arc nicely, leaves the viewers with hope that the Doctor's plan to save Galifrey succeeded, and hints to the fans how the story would end eventually, with the Doctor returning home to reunite with his family, even if we never get to see it. On top of that, it felt like a finale and a tribute to Doctor Who across it's entire run.

I love the fact that you decided to call the transitioned person what they wanted to be know as by saying "she" but still reminding us that it's actually a biological male by continually saying "the girl who has a penis" just about every time that you mentioned the character. I think a good condensed description would be "Dicky Chicky."
BRAVO... What a brilliant and refreshingly honest breakdown. I really admire your gumption to tell it as it really is and for that, I shall subscribe. This was such satisfying viewing.
No need to worry, there is still 50 years of content to enjoy. I recommend you stop watching after the 50th anniversary special, but you could continue watching until the end of series 10 of New Who, which was the end of Peter Capaldi's run of the Doctor. Whatever you do however, don't watch past the "Twice Upon a Time" Christmas Special. That's when the show starts to accelerate downhill, or becomes incredibly sh*t. All the good stuff was released between 1963 to 2017, or 2005 to 2017 if your only interested in New Who.

I used to watch Dr Who when it came back with Eccleston, I loved it back then. So not only in the latest special is the timeless child still canon which is an insult to every other writer who worked on this show but the Dr mentions the god awful Flux specials. You know the ones where half the universe was wiped out and the Dr cared about as much as you do when seeing a slightly bruised piece of fruit. Also because those specials were so awful I have wiped most of them from my memory but didn't the Flux also destroy half of our solar system? What did no-one give a shit? How could you sleep at night knowing an event like that is possible. Which brings me back to this special to add on to the BS. So we know Donna is somehow missing certain events because the plot says so but I don't think you can miss the universe ending unless the universe hit her over the head with a brick and put her in a coma. That's not some event that could be missed or somehow you're going to tell me the Flux isn't a strong enough hint to trigger something.

i heard from my friend that because Donna had a child, she was only 25% time lord now, with the other 25% in her trans daughter, and all i could think was "that's not how genetics work". Ill just say, Donna should still be 50% time lord, with Rose being 25%.
