@@GB-mu9ueno shit one of the most impactful queer writer who made multiple queer show and saved doctor who is putting queer stuff I the show lmao y'all are retarded
Tenant has been blamed for Gatwa's wardrobe. The idea is that they split the clothes that Tenant was wearing when he split in two, and Tenant got first pick of which clothes he'd wind up with. BUT it has been pointed out this makes no sense since there was no reason for them not to both be fully clothed. They didn't each wind up with one arm and one leg, or looking identical, etc. So Davies found a lame excuse to try to get both actors semi-naked.
So let me get this straight this is supposed to be a special celebrating Doctor Who and they decide they want to try something new rather than pay tribute to the past and shit
Do you remember the 50th, where they had 10 and 11 meet for the first time, and introduced the War Doctor, and still had a fun, compelling story? Apparently Davies did not.
@AJadedLizarand anyhow does this celebrate the ENTIRE show ? Ho right the other doctor made a boring ASF recycled cameo so that a good call back I guess lmao
Its important to harp on the fact that the 50th only made up a new incarnation bc eccleston declined the invite to return, which while sad was probably for the best as mrtardis stated it would have put fans of the 9th incarnation in an awkward position of viewing him as the stain that other doctors try to forget when he should be viewed as the beginning of the return of the doctor. Much like how he actually was for the return of the show. Either way, this can more or less be blamed on rtds handling of the show aswell. Hence ecclestons harsh words on rtd recently
The way to handle the ramp would’ve been for the character to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! and feel genuinely happy about it. But nope, they have her say a nasty comment about how they’ve finally caught up with modern times.
3:20 bernard cribbins was 93 when they started filming this episode and by the end of the shoot he was gone. the fact he was even in the previous episode was a blessing considering how old he was, it's possible he was planned to be in the final scene but probably couldn't make it because he's just too old to be acting in action-based shows like this where characters are constantly moving. everyone loves wilf but sometimes people just get old.
At least they didn't call him a racist white man or something. We were better off not seeing more of him, because you just know the little trans twerp would've said something about him
You know, as an Eastern European, I always thought that we were probably too harsh to the LGBTs . After seeing this, I'm starting to think that they had a point
@@DerWeisskunig To be an enemy of America can be dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal. Here goes Germany and Europe in recession because of something that would constitute act of war if Europe wasn't a collection of vassal states to the US through NATO.
Sometimes when you try to get everyone to accept everything about you, you accidentally oppress people like you in the future because of how badly you treated others that you didn't like. Everything has a reaction and like the twelfth doctor said "Nobody wins forever"
This is what the media is doing, it puts all sides against one another while they watch. Blame Davies and the media for this dumb political commentary.
i dont understand how the "defenders" and "promoters" of this shit can make this stuff and not realize they will make the boogie man real this ISNT a triumph, this ISNT proving it works and is the new normal, this is making people hate you
me too, i'd figured it would have been canceled after one season back in 2018, but it's been plowing on for 5 years now, not even wokewoman lasted this long
@@VulKus117 >.> Fair. But seriously though, you need to look up Time Knife. It's hilariously bad, and deliberately so, unlike this Doctor Who special, which is just awful.
Especially the part where the government funded bbc is talking about covid payed by the same people who openly broke lockdown rules too party while locking the rest of the country in there homes Absolute hypocrites
Yep, I watched it and there was nothing new, no new forms of storytelling, no fixing the sludge or grule (it an porridge mixed with water and was serve to prisoners), it was same old same old with what we got.
It’s strange isn’t it. It’s like nothing is good anymore. Like all the ‘good’ has been sucked out of everything. Just everything is sh1t. Think of all the brilliant tv we used to have in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Think of the brilliant movies. Now today, nothing is good. There is just no quality. It’s all awful.
@@jonathanwatson4484 He's worth millions. Fans love him. People like that have their pick of dozens of projects. Also he's destroying his credibility. Noone's going to want to see him after this. All these people have is their reputation. Women loved him. Now he's just another rainbow person and I'm not sure heterosexaul women find that as attractive as people think. Women like having a friend like that. That doesnt mean they're trying to convert them or feel romantic towards them. That's what Tenant had was his puppy dog look and lady fans.
word on the street is he's happy with the changes. its kinda lame for him that he had a two bit part that destroys his characters legacy, but the terrible human being playing the part is not only fine with it but seems to defend it, lets not cry a river for the guy destroying his credibility, its probably going to get him other jobs though
@@vissermatt1058be fair, do you know how many actors call out bad writing? Almost 0. Henry Cavill took the risk (and thank god he spoke up) but 0.1% of actors will speak the truth, the rest is just media training aka protecting* their career aspects.
They dragged Tennant back to try and revive fan interest and use him to co-sign for the next Doctor. They even had Melanie approve of him and call him beautiful to get old school fans to get on board, too. That’s the ONLY reason why she’s here. Going from Jodie to Ncuti wouldn’t have generated ANY interest. The ratings are gonna TANK after this.
Bernard Cribbins was an absolute legend. And I am thankful we got such an awesome performance with him and the Doctor. What I’ve have given to see him as the Doctors companion for an entire season. So tired of the sex appeal hire always being the companion.
I agree, although Catherine Tate was not a sex appeal companion either, she was the doctor's equal in many ways. Which is probably partly why Donna was so popular.
Seth McFarlene probably dodged a bullet by discontinuing his The Orville series after only 3 seasons due to Disney buying 20th Century Fox. He probably didn’t want them bastardizing his intellectual property after seeing what they did to Star Wars and Marvel, and what Paramount did to Star Trek.
Can't have anything like real Star Trek now can we? Props for Seth for trying to bring it back at atmosphere wise. The Orville was ironically better Star Trek than we've seen since Enterprise.
Now they’re claiming this will be “season 1” of Doctor Who, so he’ll always be black or gay or trans or a sheep….. and nobody will ever be able to say “this is not Doctor Who”
Anyone see the irony that Doctor Who was originally conceived as an educational show to teach children about History, and now they're using it as a propaganda tool to rewrite history and push propaganda
Queer people existing in a show who's fucking SCI FI and who have as main villain pepperpot NAZI isn't propaganda it's called a fuckigk sci fi show retard
TV was always used for propaganda, I wish people would realise its all being done on purpose to demoralise white people, I suggest people stop paying attention to media and to be blunt, just get a life.
I wasn't aware of your channels existence, until this video appeared randomly in my feed. After watching it, and seeing how you nailed this episode so damn hard, I subscribed.
Only a woke storyline would have a woman in a wheelchair being in charge of able walking people with missiles in her chair and yet still being able to stand up out of her chair
Must admit this isnt bad, it absolutely bad, there no linkage between the episode or even buildup it is absolutely bad. In fact it so bad it inspired me to be my own writer, who knows i might be able to show what good storytelling is, however if i fail well at least i had fun.
@@punishedmatteson7108 thanks, i am working on it and even taking points on what not to do from personal expirence even thinking how it could have been done better, heck I even had an idea how the whole episode special could be fixed. One, remove the whole politics since they don't fit for the special, two focus more on the doctor mind, maybe they want to seek why they back. First episode would have Donna meet the toymaker, who bassicaly acts like the suspicious salesmen, who has the perfect toy for an good price. Second episode, have no big monster instead it the doctor and Donna exploring an alien ship where upon the main computer has gone haywire, this serves to add more charecter, improve the relationship with doctor and Donna, heck the reason the ship computer gone haywire was due to study of an anomaly (spoiler it where the toymaker enter) as the computer can't logically figure how such an entity could exist in the universe as it says "he said that I could see the logic if I won an game... I won ...but I am still in the dark, it so dark WHY IS IT SO DARK" And in the third, the toymaker actually appear in the tardis, we get an flash back to the inventor of tv, and I would have David kill off since it was toymaker actually interfere with the regeneration to bring David face back as he would say "I like that face an lot better" so in truth the doctor never regenerated into 14 but back to 10. And yeah that how I would write it, also thank you if you read it. Since yeah I know it long
There's a famous Tom from Finland drawing of two leatherboys touching tips that is clearly the direct inspiration for the Bi-generation. I imagine RTD was thrilled at the thought of "sneaking" that past the straights. Fail Russell - You're not the pioneer all your sycophants keep telling you you are.
@user-zt2bh2tu6y even though he has blatantly stated that he did it because he wanted to? In your scenario he's a liar, in ours he's incompetent. Don't get me wrong, the BBC loves this shit, but Davies is responsible for this.
so just looking at the scenes you showed, even without the terrible context of the plot.... this was one of the most homosexual pieces of media ever put on normal tv i dont understand how these shit companies can act like this stuff is the new normal, its obviously over the top over sexualization, just not in the way it used to be having over sexed women and chad guys was frowned upon everwhere but certain rated r films, but this stuff is okay?
Nicely covered Sir, the BBC have found their groove with this woke garbage. They probably cry them selves to sleep knowing Uncle Jimmy is not atround to enjoy it too. God bless.
Reaper, those final words of yours are utter gospel. Fuck the BBC: they protect literal monsters and then tell us we need to do better. What’s left of Russell Davies can have fun making this fanfic. It’ll ultimately get cancelled. Hopefully there’ll still be some fans in a decade or so who’ll still remember the show fondly enough to recommend it to their children.
And Chibnall clearly had a crush on Whittaker, despite both of them being married. How else could an adequate supporting actress be elevated to play a British icon, when they admitted they knew nothing about the role?
@@friendlyotaku9525 Minimal effort was put into the casting process at that time. Stronger candidates were mentiontioned (e.g., Olivia Coleman), but their agents were never properly approached. Whittaker is a fantastic supporting actress (Journyman is as much her movie as Considine's), yet boasting in an interview that no research was put into a role is not an admirable trait in her chosen profession. Not all the fault lies with her. Creative direction was evidently in chaos, as it pandered to current trends & Chibnall just fell back on the resources he had.
The casting couch is alive & well. Gutwa is not just a diversity hire; he’s a fetish. And guarantee Davies is keeping Tennant around to try & keep the audience around but he is ideologically bound to make Tennant’s doctor inept, remorseful for being white & representative of the patriarchy or a villain for the same reasons. Davies will do really well with current Disney.
If you have SKY then you need to get the TV Licence Fee. As any live TV watched needs a license. They look at Sky subscribers and make sure they pay for the TV Licence.
This pretty much confirms that the previous Russel T era worked because he had restrictions, now that he has full clown mode activated we have seen his true face.
Sadly, the great Bernard Cribbins who played Wilfred died last year just after he's work on these specials, so that's why his character hasn't appeared again. Bernard also appeared in the 1966 Dr Who big screen movie, Daleks - Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D, which starred Peter Cushing as the doctor. R.I.P Bernard you legend.
“It’s a new thing, it’s the sixtieth, imagine all the fans who love new things that will rejoice when this happens.” Says the guy who brought back a previous, fan favorite doctor just to sucker people in and rub it in their faces that you can destroy their favorite show.
Everything in this review was spot on. Im glad someone didn't hold back. Its so obvious what is going on in RTD's mind and he needs to hear that the rest of us are not fooled. At the end of the day the old episodes are true doctor who. I will even include the modern doctor who up to season 10, luckily my intuition told me not to watch anything beyond that point and it turns out it was good advice. My image of doctor who has not been spoilt by the woke stuff. Maybe one day someone will get back to real doctor who and I may start watching again, in the mean time there is enough doctor who for me to watch for years, Well done Reaper for speaking your mind clearly. Subscribed.
Your inner self speaks sense - BBC Iplayer now has all of the episodes online, plus animated reconstructions of lost episodes. So now we can make up our own time lines that start & finish as we like - enjoy.
The hardest part to get one’s head round is how all this is ruined intentionally, with full knowledge of what fan reaction will be and counting on that for the loosh harvest; the inclination is to rage but pointing and laughing is honestly the only way forward, until this madness ends.
EDIT: "Dr Who gives a sht" hahaha 04:28, I asked this to a brown guy who kept playing the "Im English" card. I was trying to ask "what's your ethnicity?". You know that its not racist because if a white guy grew up in Jamaica and he said he was Jamaican, he'd be laughed at.
You do know that ethnicity has got nothing to do with nationality because Elon Musk is originally South African and anyone white born in Jamaica or in Africa is Jamaican or African We don’t all fit in one part of the world, like you think we do just because of our skin colour
Well, I am not from the UK or I have never been to Europe, but I will say this, I had no desire to watch Doc Who specials like this. Thank Reaper for modulating and wrecking this telemierda.
I never even thought about the romantic drama happening behind the scenes that probably caused the casting of the newest doctor. it makes sense, even though I wish i could forget it now... it's just so creepy...
We can finish RTD with 6 words: "Dont you think he looks tired?" This show is going the way of a sick grooming show for children who are confused while Uncle Russell spews sick messages out tainting their minds. Dr Who is dead. Long live the classic series.
Bernard Cribbins passed away before they could film the third special, they would have just ruined Wilfs character anyway, Jason\ Rose would’ve lectured him over some shit.
Neil Patrick Harris and his interactions with David Tennant were the best part of this special, mainly cause they actually felt like Doctor Who. The scene where the latter finally recognises the former and the one where they just sit a table talking were almost perfect, because it was as it should be: The Doctor facing off impossibly powerfull threats with his cunning. Sure, him calling best of 3 was basically kicking the can down the road, but with how ridicilously powerfull the Toymaker is and with the precautons he took to not be beaten like he was last time, there wasn't much else he could do. Other than that though, I refuse to even acknowledge this special's existence. It and the season of the show before it are mostly a stain on an otherwise iconic franchise.
I agree, everything about neil patrick harris in this episode was phenominal that it makes it so frustrating that now is the time we get him as the toymaker. I wished we got him as a somewhat reccuring character a couple of years back where doctor was still watchable
@@AshanBhatoa A lot of people are probably sick of the idea of "Cancel Culture", especially at this point where the the concept is being taking less seriously, so basing a plotline around it is annoying at best. While it might have been something they needed to do in order to have the new Doctor replacement join the show, the whole Doctor mitosis is a bit silly, and feel more of a deus ex machina than an actual resolution to the plot. Splitting the Tardis is also really dumb, in my personal opinion, and on has to happen so the show runner can keep Tennet in the story, while adding the new guy.
I watched the first episode of the specials and i tuned out after the doctor was lectured and the correct pronoun for an alien. And I'm in no rush to tune back in. So thank you for watching them so i never have to...
I'll be honest, as much as I enjoyed parts of the episode, I kept seeing comment after comment of how much charisma Gatwa had and how much he had stolen the show. But there's only so much devil's advocating you can do before at some point you just need to say "lmao what" The campiness and flirty attitude felt excessive as hell. Every Doctor in the modern series has some kind of "I'm the Doctor, even if I'm unarmed you're screwed" moment that made entire armies flee from plot convenience. I don't see Fifteen ever pulling something like that off. I see plenty of self-assurance and confidence, but zero substance to go with it.
Probably the most accurate review you'll ever read. Ask yourself this, do you think Terrance Dicks would have approved of the last 4 episodes of Dr Who?
