Just showing the sound of the exhaust and BOV. Stand still and Driveby... 91 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo 3000gt VR4 CX Racing Turbo Back Exhaust No Cats Turbo XS Blow Off Valve
my exhaust was $450(550 with shipping) pretty easy to install, just bolt on. the hardest part was punching out the first cat... the bov is about 150. easy to put in
@couchoisT thanks man. ya my stealth looked like shit when i bought it. paint was shitty and had some dents but got em fixed and painted it. but no the banana was easy to take off. the only thing u gotta worry about is coverin up the holes
@sledgenwedge what does downforce on the backwheels at 130 do in a fwd car? only time a wing is helpful is with a front diffuser, otherwise you are lifting the nose up letting more air under the car. downforce to half of the car is useless. 91-96 3kgt spoilers were designed to channel over the tail lights to keep them "clean". clean from what i have no idea. only the vr4 has a functional spoiler, with a front air dam also.
@KillerDEagle95 the cat is to change harmful chemicals into non harmful chemicals by using a catalyst thats how they get the name catalytic converter. it does not do much to reduce sound
aww ye another stealth rt/tt bro with a turboback exhaust. When I first got mine I almost wanted to do the 3000gt conversion, until I realized that other than the banana spoiler (which is an easy fix, just take it off and plug the holes), I honestly preferred the stealth's body panels and tail lights more.
i like your setup. how much did the exhaust run you. i have a 95 tt and want to do a bov and an exhaust like yours. how much was each and were they easy to install?
@xXChick3nPok3rXx You gotta Take off that plastic panel on the inside of the trunk and then you take out the screws. but then you have holes in your trunk so just put something there to cover them.
my car has a manual boost controler . hks super mega flow intake. and a exhaust . not sure from where to where tho . il post a vid of the car running bad . please help me . i baught the car wiith a melted piston and block . so i baught a new block . and replaced the old one . im thinking its maybe just vacums but it was running good for a couple of hours
@jdumars aerodynamic efficiency only matters if going for top speed. if you let off the gas in an f1 car at 170mph, you will have 1g of braking force just from the drag of the body work. the active spoiler on the mclaren f1 increases the drag coefficient of the car from .32 to .39 when active, i wouldn't call that making it more efficient would you? that's because it is suppose to increase downforce on the car and help with braking. and i was only talking about 3kgts.
@dhillskier75 Wrong. The Stealth RT/TT has the lowest coefficient of drag out of ALL the 3/S years and generations. The Stealth rear wing is actually the most functional out of all the years and models as well, it has been tested, look it up. The rear sail panels channel air right to the wing and is most effective being right up against the hatch glass. The 99 VR4, which has the largest combat wing, actually has the highest coefficient of drag out of all of them.
@blackBLUR89 I don't have have to create a big youtube account and edit videos between family, work, finances, etc. my favorites were by accidental clicking, i really don't care if people go on my account to look at my favs. i've used youtube to find exhausts which i like based on looks or suspension kits, etc. i am part of a local 3/s club and that keeps me happy enough with showing off my car.
@KillerDEagle95 you probably could you just wont get the turbo whistle in the exhaust if you even can hear it. you also wont have any "turbo sounds". so just make sure its the same engine and it can sound exactly the same
@dhillskier75 not to be argumentetive but,the whole hood is a spoiler and makes measurable downforce in the front, the rear spoiler balances out the effect, simple design for a balanced ride and if it keeps tailights clean im sure its a byproduct of the wings actual purpose,My R/t is only front wheel drive and when i look at it it wouldnt look right without its original equipment,to each his own, nice car.
@lilmarv08 a couple things, one was my bov was making it run like shit so had to take it off, also i lost the peice on my front turbo connecting the intake side and exhaust side togethor
hey sorry i tried looking for it but i couldnt find it... either they are not in stock or they stopped making it.. Just keep on searching for cx racing exhaust for 3000gt vr4 on ebay, maybe it will show up.
Wonder if it's the same system...(?) I bought one from Top speed in TX, was $440.... Seemed like a good deal for a fully polished system. It sounds good, but oddly, its not really any louder than stock. And the tips are spaced a lil too far apart- looks like yours is the same way...
@blackBLUR89 And yeah, I uploaded a couple phone vids for your "proof". Probably the only time I'll ever appease an online request of this nature that shouldn't ever be necessary.
@jdumars first off, that really had nothing to do with what i said, and secondly, high drag coefficients mean more downforce, look up the drag coefficients of supercars that create downforce, usually in the mid .3's. by putting the wing further back and higher up, you put it in cleaner air that isn't being disrupted by the body of the car, letting it do its job better. i'm not sure you understand aerodynamics.
No unfortunately its been 9 years. The engine fried on a long trip across the state. From what I remember they discontinued the exhaust I bought cause I could never find it online again.
@couchoisT dude? why the wing actually has a purpose @130 or so,at least on my 94r/t I can feel it pushing the back end down, and mines not a turbo,i know i know it sucks but yes its fun as hell to drive100 is nothing to this car!mine sounds about the same with a busted flex pipe, got to get that tranny mount fixed,STEALTH NATION!
The sound of this BOV is so much more "manly" than all those other ones... Which is odd, it's cheap and supposedly not as good as the other higher tier Greddy/HKS ones? Does anyone have input on that? I just ask because this is the same on I have on my VR4 - and wouldn't trade the *sound* for anything else. I just don't know how it stacks up "peformance" wise... I HATE that stupid high pitch squeak/squeal that the Greddy/HKS ones do.
Up to you man. If its a good deal go for it. Only thing I would say caution wise is that when I bought my stealth me and my mechanic friend seapped the engine and put that exhaust I have on it all before I had driven it( was sitting at his house with a bad engine for years). So when it was finally running it already had an aftermarket exhaust. And the problem I had was that the car always backfired like crazy and when it did it lost so much power. It was only at full throttle that it did that but it was always an issue with the car. Couldnt floor it without it backfiring and when it did it lost so much power. We never figured out what the problem was. Tried so many things(spark plugs, spark plug cables, new throttle body/sensor) but it still always backfired. Now thinking back I think it may have been the exhaust and maybe an original sensor that my mechanic may have gotten rid of. Its the only thing we didn't try. So I'd say go for it but make sure you get the car tuned by a professional company if you have any issues. Or even no issues get it tuned. Wouldn't hurt
@01ttstang to me the stock wheels are ugly as fuk and i spray painted them black so it hides how ugly they actually are... plus ill be gettin new rims down the road so it really doesnt matter.
@miamicanes561 Most people in the 3/S community would disagree with you there, but to each his own. Very few Stealths and 3000's are left that haven't been molested visually or otherwise. The 96 wing in fact, which is only slightly more agressive and very similar, is one of the most sought after spoilers. All this rice crap these days is what is 'ugly as fuck'. Saying a stock spoiler ruins the car makes it sound like you're not a true fan of the platform.
Hello. 10 years later looking back at old comments reminiscing on my old car right now. But just wanted to say to you being older and "wiser"(man I sound like a douche) I'd have to agree with you now. Wish I would have kept the original wing on it for that classic dodge stealth look. Have grown to admire and respect it over the years. While in my youth I did think the stealth looked better without it I have grown to respect that crazy banana spoiler and if I still had the stealth today I would put it back on. Don't know if this account im replying to is still active but just wanted to say I agree. ✌
@dhillskier75 well it would b nice, i would like to see this prime example of 3/S automotive history, i mean, arent u proud of what you got? or are u more content with making excuses? I know that when i finally have the cash to purchase my buddy Jim Altmans emerald green pearl modified 94 stealth TT with only 45k miles, i will broadcast it everywhere i can. I am utterly consumed and obsessed with these cars. Have been since i was about 12 years old.
@dhillskier75 Not sure why you're feeding partial facts I already know. I will reiterate my point to my original response. You said "only the vr4 has a functional spoiler" on a DODGE STEALTH video (since later you make an excuse saying you were only talking about 3000's). Your comment was not correct. For literal meaning of functional, see dictionary. /thread
Well, you did a good job bro, the lady sounds really nice ;) You should have a look at my ,,FAT LADY,, ... even that she is an N/A I guess she sounds also really good...
