Don’t mix Aim & Swingpath...

Aim is where you want the ball to go and swingpath is where you want the club to go. Do not mix them if you want to hit that beautiful draw...
Let me help you get a effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook.
Long and straight is every ones goal but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill.
If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can get better.
Find what inspires you. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV.
Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots.
The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it.
Let me help you get a effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook.

Just want to thank you for your golf tips. I have learnt more in the last 3/4 weeks watching your instruction than years of personal lessons and other online instructors. Nearly all other golf instructors are obsessed by body rotation etc. I am a 6 handicap golfer that has struggled with pull shots. I have never drawn the ball but 10 minutes a day for 2 weeks has changed that ! Yesterday went out and shot 74 .

Marcus, your teaching really resonates with me and really reminds me a lot of Peter Crokers teaching method of Pushing the clubhead and hitting the ball. I bring this up because he also teaches the different swing path to aim point letting the hands do the driving as the body will always follow the hands. "When you're hammering a nail, you don't consciously think about the angle of your elbow, the exact moment to release the wrist hinge, or the force distribution through your arm. Instead, you focus on the end goal: driving the nail into the wood. Your body intuitively knows how to coordinate all the necessary movements to accomplish that task efficiently." Croker's point is that golfers should approach their swing in a similar manner. Instead of getting bogged down by the numerous technical details of the swing, golfers should focus on the end goal (hitting the ball to the target) and trust their body to coordinate the necessary movements. By simplifying the focus and relying on natural instincts, golfers can achieve a more fluid and effective swing.

Great comment. Good stuff. 👍 I think we need to be a little more technical in training to accomplish that on the golf course. I will bring some of this in to the videos during the winter.

An important detail here that I wanna thank you for: The in-to-out swingpath gets touted quite a bit in RU-vid golf instructional. But I always feel like the people demonstrating aren't actually hitting what they're describing. I paused your first swing and re-watched it frame by frame. Sure enough, your club path did not seem to match what you were describing. "Great, here we go again." I thought to myself. Within short order you begin to explain that the club path won't look like the line described because of the upper body rotation and how the two worked in conjunction. In just about every golf instructional that talks about the importance of that in/out line yours was the first that I saw explain the discrepancy between the look and what was actually going on. That is TREMENDOUSLY helpful.

In one of your recent videos i was asking about the wrist motions during the takeaway and focusing on that, but after seeing this video my only swing thought is to swing to the inside in a 45 degree line (in my head, in reality it isnt that much) which gives me a huge shoulder turn on the way back, and then i try to swing to the ball at that same 45 degree line. This combined with an open stance and im getting incredible results already, at least 80% pure shots with every club. So now i dont have think about wrists or anything else, as long as i swing on that line. Also my followthrough has changed now and looks just like yours and now i really feel the release in my hands. At first i lost some clubhead speed with this change but now its starting to increase back because the motions start to feel more natural. So thanks a lot for this video, it really was an eye opener 😃

I have three lines in my head prior to every shot , i dont think about my backswing or follow through i may have a practice swing to find the best ball position , but the thing that dictates my shot shape is the line i take the club away from the ball . Thats all i really alter . This one thing gives me so much information i can work everything else around it . My body somehow creates different paths from just taking away - outside , down or inside the line , with very predictable shot shapes. Fantastic content btw 👍

If all golfers were taught this the first day they wanted to take this journey to understand how to swing a golf club…there time wasted would be shortened Ball flight laws …understand first why the ball does what it does…a big deal All golf lessons I’ve taken on the past didn’t do that … sad You should show this one again 👍⛳️👍

Thank you Marcus, this concept of swing at a 45 degree angle 📐 to the ball swing path force line has made the biggest difference for contact compression and distance for me. Question on the release of your hands or trail hand overtaking the lead hand at impact...are you also releasing at the 45 degree angle 📐 as well?

Quite outstanding, it really is funny how strange it feels at first; seemingly your swing path is 45deg to your target line, but the contact and ball flight are incredible. Is it just through repetition that you ingrain this sensibility for ball flight, so release and clubface control are relied upon by rote memory..? Is there a ball position on the tee that would help with eye/hand strike; like placing ball marking in a desirable spot for club contact...do you look at the inside of the ball or that back quarter of the hemisphere, and does it change for you using the driver...? Also, would you categorize your swing technique as 'single plane' generally...? Thanks Marcus, your stuff really frees up the mind to play golf.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Год назад
Hi Teddy. First I don't think it's close to a single plane swing only at the top/transition I can find some resemblance. Second, I think that every golfer solves this a little differently. I have tested a few things that you mention but I didn't feel that they help but other golfers I meet love to place the line of the ball in a certain way. I can guide you to what you need to do but most of the "how" we need to figure out ourselves. Keep testing until you find your correct thoughts. 👍

@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Thanks Marcus, you confirmed much of what I have been teaching for years, how important the arms and hands are in the swing! Modern instruction is all about the body and not enough emphasis on how to release that energy out to the head of the club. Keep up your good work!

Hi Marcus - can you advise on the take away? Instructors say low and straight back. Your x makes it look like you go inside quite quickly. Maybe it doesn't matter as long ason the downswing you swing from the inside and away from you? Would appreciate your views.

Sir, if u do swing in slow motion your club in downswing comes from inside to out then inside again because your shoulders are rotating as u hit the ball which brings club inside again. I hope I am right.

Yes, the rotation brings the club back in but should be over your hands, not under because that will cause a hook.

To hit a proper draw the club needs to be about half as open to the target line as swing path is in degrees from the target line. My typical draw is 6-8 degrees inside to out and the face is 3-4 degrees open. Watch this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wGkBfEuqgLo.htmlsi=iZumJ0Z_hmgamUbw
