I legitimately did a paper on this toon for university I had to do discourse analysis on a 3-5 minute conversation and figured a Homestar cartoon would be perfect, this was the first one with all inter-character dialogue that popped up on the site's rando button

something i love about hsr is how gags are NEVER one off. homestar mentions the KFC-Taco-Bell-Radisson-Texas-Instruments-NASA conglomerate, which is a perfectly solid joke on its own, but then king of town mentions data he received from taco-bell-NASA.
Pretty sure he was there the whole time. The King of Town vibrates so quickly from hunger that visible light stops hitting him, and it usually takes until 3:09PM for him to burn enough calories to slow down for light to strike his form again.

I always thought the ‘how many millions’ bit was a joke about overambition, but… you know, Homestar actually made a reasonable estimate, given the local clientele.

My Uncle used to watch this with me when I was younger on the couch, the curtains half way open, the lamp on…. Playing with my tiny plush squirming around for no reason, those were the days… so I came back here for the memories.

I think I know why this is better than the Annoying Orange. Homestar gets hurt more than Orange, and Homestar is dumber than Orange, laughably so. I mean, maybe the Brothers Chaps should show Daneboe how it go!
If Homestar and Bubs’ donut stands actually existed, I would rather buy one from Homestar. I’d rather have a variety of different flavors rather than just one
Two things 1. This is probably the most Bubs has ever talked in an episode and 2. Homestar and Marzipan are seeming to have a lot of relationship problems. Celebrating the 17th anniversary of their breakup (or something?)? Sewiouswy.
I seem to recall the Brothers Chaps, or at least Matt Chapman, saying they (or he) no longer goes onto forums anymore, because he came across a comment saying Homestar Runner had jumped the shark (he responded by saying that once Homestar marries Marzipan and they have children, THEN Homestar Runner has jumped the shark!)... ...I wonder what they'd have to say about RU-vid comments, which are 100 times worse, IMO.
@masakasama Exactly. "Shark-Jumping" is to boost lagging ratings which are beginning to harm a series' profitability and/or threaten it with cancellation. Mike and Matt don't *do* H*R for profit... I'm not saying it doesn't make them money, just that profit was never the point, or they would produce new content more consistently. And they don't need to worry about being cancelled: they work for themselves--nobody can "cancel" Homestarrunner.com...the creators can decide to stop doing it, but they don't work for a network or other corporation that can cancel them if they aren't sufficiently profitable.
Early flash animations do something to my brain. I wish adobe wasn’t so fucking expensive and RU-vid so oppressive and newgrounds so empty now, maybe we’d still be getting more of these sorts of series
