I think the styling is beautiful and far better than other similar bikes from other manufacturers. I think it fits it's niche perfectly, nice racy styling yet dialed back for everyday riding versus the pinagale 959 and other track bikes. Personally I love it and will definitely pick one up.
Great video and review, Bike World! Chris did an excellent job. I'm sure Ducati will gain some new buyers with this Supersport. Confusing name and styling is a bit off in my opinion. But none the less, should be a good addition for Ducati.
I love it, reminds me alot of an 90ies Honda VFR which hit this sweetspot between Sport and touring pretty perfect for me. For many this seams to sound like compromise, but I don't think so, it's uncompromised in it's focus on street driving fun and useability.
Awesome review, I really enjoyed the behind the scenes footage, always nice to see what happens behind the scenes. One question though, I'm not sure if I'm blind or not but on some of the bikes only one headlight is on? Why is that
I really like what ur saying. Up till the SV650 part . I ride sv1000s . N was watching the 959 . Then this but when u say sv650 ? 🤷🏻♀️ Help me out man .
What a bike , What I Know from DUCATI is that bikes were to much wild , and also must pilots said that in old models from Ducati had a gap in the aceleration answer so when you asked for more velocity the engine gaves the answer late on , and then most of pilot lost lot of precious seconds , but I think that these kind of problems were solved by DUCATI now a day in their bikes.
Great review. Seems like it would be a fun bike but I think its a rare miss with Ducati when it comes to the styling...not the best I've seen from them.
I think it was a little weird that you told us "we're going to do tracking shots now.." and not just integrating that footage as b-roll through out the bike overview but great video overall.
"So although it's a sports bike, it can be used for touring as well...but it isn't a sports tourer." What? Just throw that out, no explanation, great. It means you have some rigid definition of "sports tourer" in your mind that you think we should abide by. A sports bike with higher bars and integrated bags, etc...sounds like an ideal sports tourer to me.
aluisious it is an ideal sports tourer.... In the presentation Ducati were adamant that this wasn't described as a sports tourer. I guess they didn't want to pigeon hole it... When you compare it to an out and out sports tourer... VFR et al it's pedigree is much closer to a sports bike than a sports touring bike.
Ducati can get a little weird about categorizing their bikes, for sure. They call the Multi (I have a 2015 1200S) "four bikes in one." "Look, it has an Enduro mode." Great...it's an *awful* enduro bike though, you've got to be kidding. I accidentally ended up on 20 miles of sandy road once and I thanked my lucky stars when I got off without dropping $5k of plastic fairings and handguards onto a rock. They should call the Multistrada a sports tourer too...because that's what it is. Either that of a great description I heard once, a "tall-rounder." Get it...all-rounder except it has the enduro inspired riding position, so tall...yeah you got it.
I'd say this one.... lighter and less intimidating if you''re interested in developing your riding skills and want to get out on a track at some point the supersport bike really does everything!
I have one. Just kicking around trading it in on a SS but will need to test ride it first. Bike is expensive for 100HP, no LED lights or steering damper.
I love that..."just kicking around" like an old pair of trainers 😂 I'd argue that this bike doesn't warrant a steering damper. With the bar risers and it's lack of power (compared to the bigger bikes) I found it really stable... It might have been a little different of the track had been 100% dry. Definitely worth a test ride!
If this isn't a sport touring bike what is it? A more comfortable street bike? Don't kid yourself Ducati.... If Honda calls their VFR800 and VFR1200 bikes sport touring bikes and they are similarly aggressive in seating position.... Don't think you squeeze out of this category.
