Seems a bit strange that you needed to replace those parts after just one year. I've done almost 12K on my street triple and haven't had to replace my chain or sprocket. How many miles have you done on the bike ? I love the look of the bike and it sure seems to be a great ride, just seems to be high maintenance. Did they get the chain from a candy store - haha. I thought my triumph would be costly but it has served me well.
Thanks for sharing! Chain and sprockets I'm happy to change myself but given the overall labour cost there's not a great deal to be saved. For the tyres I find it's much better to have the dealer do it, as DIY is such a faff and I always end up scratching the rims! Sorry if I missed it in the video -- but how many miles did the old sprockets and chain have on them?
It was mentioned in a previous video and I think it was around 15,000. Which is apparently what Ducati recommend. I remeber this because I am in the process of buying a second hand Supersport with 16,000 miles on it (and my heart sank! 🙂). I enquired about it at the dealer he said it can be anytime after 8,000 miles depending on whether or not the chain has been regularly lubed. He commented that many owners are reluctant to lube their chains to avoid getting their nice red back wheels dirty! Hope that helps.
Well new tyres feel better than old tyres. Who'da thunk it? Got lost getting to where you got lost and half the vid stuck behind a white van; nothing at all about the bike. £665 on top of annual service? Nein danke.
