Thannnnnkkkk yoooouuuuu! You saved me $75 from having to take it to the repair service again. Did not have the dyson 41 4 months and the hose sucked a kleenex and I tinkered and tinkered with no luck, wish I had enough smarts to see if anyone knew how to fix, dreaded to pay another $75 and there you were!! Learned gobs from you! Thanks for saving me money on future clogs, my old dyson never clogged up like this, they have gone downhill I am sorry to say. Keep the videos coming!
Thank you! My issue was that I was not getting any suction through the base (plenty through the wand). After going through Dyson's site and following all of their videos, I was not being able to resolve the issue. I watched yours and followed your step to disconnect the want hose from the base and found a pen that got stuck in there! I removed that and now it's working great :) Thanks again!
This video was great (we never knew there was the round filter on the side), but this comment also helped because it made me look in that hose and found half a children's glow stick that was preventing the spinning base from sucking.
Thank you! Your videos are great and they helped me fix my Dyson. There was something blocked in the suction tube. Very easy to follow! Keep up the great work! Dyson should hire you to make their videos and manage their RU-vid channel!
This totally helped me to fix my dyson. Thank you so very much! Thanks to you showing how to take the hose off I was able to unclog and not it's working perfectly. Whew....after paying 500.00. Dyson truly needs to hire you.
I know this video is a few years old but it really helped!! I wasn't sure why the floor rollers/suction wasn't working and at 5:00, your video was perfect for my situation! Took off the tubing and bam, part of a pen was lodged in there. Thanks so much!!
Thank you for making this video. I almost followed another videos directions to open the cyclone compartment, that repair had a risk of damaging the vacuum. It turns out I had a piece of plastic stuck at the base of the extension hose, I found it thanks to your video. Good job man.
Thanks for this video, I think even with trouble shooting with Dyson customer service they fail to tell you about the way the hose comes completely off and apart and because of you I found the clog. Your video really is a goody...thanks again!
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this! Like a previous poster, I just pulled a pencil out from the lower hose area and --problem solved! I didn't know how to get the base of the hose off either. Awesome and helpful video!
Thanks a lot for your help. My issue was that a small wooden piece was stuck in the wand. This had stopped the motor to work in the upright position. After watching your video, I removed the wand, cleaned it. The Vacuum is working properly. Many thanks for your help.
I always find myself on your channel based off of some article Im reading and I watch the video linked and then I just keep watching more and more videos you make because A. I used to LOVE vacuums B. You are very knowledgeable about vacuums and C. You are adorable.
Thanks so much. I fixed the problem. There was a clog in the rigid detachable part of the hose. Took the time to also clean the filters as I am not sure when I did it last. All back together and runs like it should.
Was totally going to dismiss this video until you taking off the wand and hose in the back. Turns out that's where the falut for my Dyson was. Thanks for the vid man. You rock!
Thanks a lot VacBin! your video is much more helpul than the Dyson mute videos. There was a blockage inside the hose, a pen was stuck, and when I looked at the Dyson manual, I could not figure out how to detach the hose, your video was so clear. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your video. It was by far more educational and helpful than any of previous videos I watch. Great video. concur with many of the comments. The young man did an excellent job.
Thanks for posting this. I thought I had gone through every piece of the vacuum, but when I went back through and removed the wand from the hose I found the problem.
This was so helpful. I could not figure out how to get the bottom hose off. I couldn't push the hoses back together and low and behold there was something in the bottom part which wasn't allowing me to click them together. Thank you!
Thanks, and that was informative. My issue is that it will stop running? Someone said it is overheated but that is not the case. I've done our whole house before and it didn't stop? Appreciate your time!
Thanks so much for this video. My girlfriend is super happy because I was able to fix the vacuum and find part her glasses stuck in the hose. You rock vacuum god!
Thanks VERY MUCH young man ! I'm sure that u put this video up and noone prolly thanx u for all your hard work - but I'm here to tell u that u personally saved me hundreds of dollars that i can't afford on a new vac - ty soooo much buddy
I learn more for this how to video than I did from the last five! Great video and the young man did and excellent job. Wonder if he is actually the developer. Thanks for a great video,
Thanks to this video, I was able to find the problem with the suction problem by removing the hose from the base and taking a pen out that was stuck there. My Dyson is working fine again. :)
Thank you - you solved my problem at 5:01 in your video. An icy pole stick was stuck in the hose stopping the wheels from fully engaging which meant no suction. Followed your instructions and instant fix!! Well Done!
Great video. Just what I needed to unclog my hose. Like others have said, I had no idea it was that easy to remove the hose, and the instructions don't tell you how to do it. thanks buddy!
Mine was overheating and turning off. I didn't even know about the large filter near the base. Cleaned it out and drying now, hopefully will run smoothly for here on out.
lol, then I checked the plastic wand and...piece of glass stuck in there which then slowly accumulated dog hair on it and clogged the whole thing off. I'm glad I watched the full video.
Thank You I really appreciate your help and effort making this video. I havent used my hose for months, and it was just a simple clog all along. thanks again!
Love your video since the instruction booklet which comes w/the machine is not very clear!! My problem is......... when I take off the canister and check the filter, I always have trouble getting the canister to "click" back firmly to the base. I think it is attached but then when I lean the vacuum back as if to vacuum the floor ........ the canister pops off!! Any suggestions??
One thing to add is to check the small hose that wraps around the bottom of the ball... it's only a few inches, but I had a massive blockage in there that was causing me issues. Thanks!
any recommendations for my DC41 squeaking with every push? It sounds like it needs WD40 but I roll all the plastic balls and knobs when it's turned off and nothing squeaks.
hey I want to know if the second place where you showed to check for any clogs has a dent on that lid? Because I just got my animal complete dyson vacuum and it has a dent on that lid where it covers the airway.
Opening up the dust bin beyond just cleaning the filter is one more thing to check. Many times large hair clumps from my dog get stuck at the top of the bin and you have to push them out from the top. Also, removing the brush bar is easy, and often times clogs can form right behind that where the tube begins.
is there a solution if the swivel mechanism starts to stiffen up? i.e. it has become harder to turn the head of the dyson to go around corners and such.
Thanks helped me find the clogs in the door just under the bin and in the hose in the ball, now back to cleaning. By the way mine is a DC40 but as for the filters and access locations they are the same. You might want to change the title to "Dyson DC40 & DC41 maintenance and troubleshooting" so more DC40 users can find your helpful video.
Thank you so much! That fixed 'er! I had no idea that I could take the vacuum apart in so many places. Dyson did a great job of designing the vacuum, but they should have hired you to write the instructions! (I don't think I even got instructions with it...)
Hey dude, thank you so much for the great video. I watched about 3 or 4 other videos before yours and had no luck with good advice on trouble shooting. Your video saved me from a possible suicide. We now have suction... 😂
Hey very helpfull info I work at a vacuum store and I do a lot off dysons warranties and to b honest if u can get another vacuum do so cause there's only so much dyson warrenties I prefer a Miele or Panasonic
im curious about the hose part because it is hooked on but when i turn my vacuum on, the bottom part of the vacuum will not pick anything up (i cleaned the whole vacuum out so there is nothing clogged). the only suction will come from the top of the vacuum where the hose is. nothing from the bottom. do you know why that is?
Your videos are the reason I got this cleaner. I love it. So thank you! Got it for like $220 factory refurbished. Quick question though, how do you keep the plastic canister so clean? Can you just rinse it out and let dry while the filter is out? Thanks again!
Thanks Had a "total" loss of suction, removed many pieces one by one, no clogs, and tested after each item removal. But after removing the last hose that I didn't know how to until this video it suddenly started working, but again no clog. Best guess is a pebble got in the motor and seized it, the process of removing stuff must have jarred the pebble loose and things suddenly started working again. But what ever the case, thank you.
Awesome. Helped me find a clog that I couldn't find before. Also, I didn't know this thing had two filters on it...isn't that one of Dyson's marketing campaigns, they don't have filters, thus more sucking power?
i JUST TOOK MY WHOLE DYSON D41 APART AND CLEANED IT THOROUGHLY. SO IT WORKS, BUT THE BOTTOM PANEL FEELS A BIT LOOSE. MY BIGGEST QUESTION IS, ARE THE BRUSHES SUPPOSED TO BE TAPERED? NOT THE SAME FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER?
