EASY FIX for LED INTERIOR CAR LIGHTS that are DIM 

Okay, i see that no one here understands why is that happening. Look, your car battery is 12V. Your interior light work at 12V. Before LED in your car you had tungsten bulb. For the tungsten bulb you need around a current of around 500mA to glow, and for classic LED you need around 20mA ( it can go up to 50mA or 100mA for powerful ones). But the point is here, when your switch is off you have some leaking current which is around probably 3 - 5 mA and that is enough for glowing the LED at minimum. You had the same leaking current when you had tungsten bulb but they can't glow with that current, they need a lot more (we said 500mA). NOW you need to SOLVE your problem. Buy in electronic store 3K Ohm resistor and wire it with parallel with the LED. Than when your switch is off your current will go through the resistive load and your LED will not glow. The value of resistor of 3K Ohm i enough because current through that resistor will be I=U/R which is I=12/3000=> I=4mA. This resistor will not affect LED in ON state and in OFF state will reduce all leaking current through LED and your LED will not glow anymore.

I still have the regular light bulbs that came with my 04 Envoy and it seems like I've had problems with the inside lights not coming on so I changed all the bulbs out and they worked for about a week and then when I would open the door as time goes on they would stop. Then id get them to turn on about once a month. It'll go on for about 5 times, starting the truck, then the lights go back off

Adding resistors in series increases the resistance of the circuit. Adding them in parallel decreases the resistance. Long story short vanity light being turned on basically means a resistor is added in parallel since the bulb itself causes resistance. This reduces the resistance of the whole circuit. This Increases the current so a brighter bulb. Add a resistor in parallel to the map light. It’ll make it brighter

It is due to the incandescent buld in the vanity which is all in series with the LEDs and becomes path of least resistance thus changing voltage. It is basically tricking the system.

I have that problem but when i open my vanity light they start flickering and still dim while flickering ;(

My Envoy and my Silverado both are dim with LEDs as well. I went from basic LEDs to some Lasfit. Same issues…

Can anyone tell me what is the vanity fuse marked as in the rear fuse box? Maybe I was just having a hard time seeing. T.y 2004 trailblazer

the only atom particles that actually "flow" are the electrons, that "flow" is called current, the oposition to that "flow" is called resistance, protons and neutrons are at atom nucleus and stays there.

I put all LED lights in my Envoy but after I did now my tail lights don’t work 😢 and I don’t have a tester

When I open the vanity light my courtesy light goes off. What up with that. Again when I turn my courtesy light on by the push button, and open the vanity light to make it brighter, my courtesy light goes completely off. These lED bulbs suck. I just can't update my inside bulbs to LED without fucking problems. Sucks
