A lot of todays car problems are directly related to the emissions crap. Cars would last a lot longer with it. The tech they used in the 1970s to filter out your exhaust was enough.
Yeah nonsense. I've had my hardbody for 26 years and it's now 233k. The tech back in the 70s was crap; most cars, including american cars had a hard time making it to 100k even when you did everything you were supposed to. I've owned the muscle cars and never had one that lasted more then 5 years before it was too costly to fix and not worth fixing myself. I credit the lifeline for my hardbody to the materials, and engineering which includes the ecu which is designed to keep the engine running at it's optimum. Definitely can't run mine without the ecu. I agree the evap system is crap and last year I found that the bpt valve and egr weren't working so you can probably get rid of that. Not sure what the fuel trims look like w/o the evap but try it. Probably still works fine. So what else is smog related.
hey bro at .44 seconds in the top left theres valve thing on top of the canister. what did you do with the hose that came off of there? was it just unplugged or did you cap it off
At 02:34 you have a bundle of items removed from the left of the intake manifold which includes the swirl valve control switch and swirl valve solenoid. Question: How did you eliminate these 2 trouble codes P1130 & P1400 to pass DEQ? I have a check engine light post EGR delete/bundle removal at 02:34. P1130 - Swirl control solenoid/valve. P1400 - Exhaust gas recirculation control (EGRC) solenoid valve. I got a 1997 which is OBD2 BTW and need to pass DEQ.
You created a vacuum leak. The EGR bypasses the throttle plates allowing more air into the engine. Since it is unmetered the engine runs lean, hot, and higher RPM.
I did an Egr/vacuum delete in my 97 Nissan Hardbody, after putting headers on it, in idle the RPM’s bounce from 1500-2k constantly .. it’s really embarrassing at stop lights 😅 it’s a Ka24e , any ideas?
@@STONEBROKEGARAGE thanks man! you’ll see some videos of my 240 sliding up here in WA state! I plan to also buy a hard body! D21 was my first ever vehicle, I bought it from my principal for $500...loved that truck so much
EGR isn't just an emissions control. It reduces combustion temperature, and reduces pumping losses for part throttle operation. A malfunctioning EGR makes an engine run poorly. A working EGR IMPROVES engine life and running.
