Love your content VT thanks! One thing I would say (if I understood correct), was I think the nemesis sets have interacted with hero playstyle/gimmick way since the start, not just Valkyrie onwards. Yon Rogg has a card which discards energy resoucres. Likewise Abomination + physical. Whiplash, living laser, taskmaster all have cards interacting with upgrades you control. Thomas Edison can affect persona cards. But yeah I liked the question about using them as regular modular sets, some are really interesting and shame we don’t get to see them often (and that when you do it’s annoying! :D)

Another good episode. Because of her reputation, Valkyrie is one of the last heroes I've purchased, but have been pleasantly surprised by her. She IS fun. Although I houserule to not use the standard set in my games any more - I just use nemesis sets like mod sets now - so I haven't gone through the frustration of repeatedly facing Enchantress.

My nightmare? Hulk.....in red.......with Valk's nemesis......vs Hel........with Space Pirates. Well, after thinking about that, I'm doomed to have nightmares tonight.🤣

I'm surprised at how the discussion around Hulk's nemesis set was considered difficult. Being the Hulk fantatic that I am, I actually shrug when I get Shadow of the Past with Hulk. I usually can smash Abomination as soon as he comes out, and if I'm playing Justice the 2 threat isn't a big deal. If I'm not playing justice, I'm probably ignoring the schemes and just punching everything in sight to win. The only downside really is the Hazard icon on Total Destruction if I can't get rid of it.

Good Show good team. I hated on Valkyrie before she was released because her spoiled cards were pretty bad. They have not really improved, I think Dragonfang is her only good one. Chooser of the Slain is good in the context of her needs. Have At Thee would be much better if it did not steal the title of Thor's ability. However she has been really fun to play if you dodge her pitfalls and remains character who most exceeded my expectations. Her weakness apart from being undertuned and having a dysfunctional trap "defence mode" is that I feel she really needs help from her aspect (aggression) even to carry out her basic functions. This would contrast someone like Hawkeye who has incredibly self contained kit and who can use the aspect to completely cover his weaknesses (or buff strengths in MP I suppose). Her nemesis is the most brutal of course but even so I have rarely lost to it and then it's in an avalanche of surges (or really early). Dark Phoenix is also far worse then most of them but they are all manageable. Avalanche is the one I would say is good (or perhaps that should be bad) as it always impacts the board on top of the HP/Threat to remove. Often they are just 5 hp 3 threat you spend the next turn dealing with. I find Venom's nemesis really underwhelming in play though I love the concept. It's even weakened by his obligation. Hulk and Collector 1 are my least favourites too. Warmachine comes close as I have spent longer being frustrated by his clunk than trying overcome Hulk's deficiencies.
