My one complaint about this conversation: she is EASILY just as important as the male podcasters she listed. Jordan Peterson, Chris Williams, brett Weistein ... they are ALL amazingly insightful. And She belongs in that list of legends 💯 . Probably one of the best and most important conversations ive heard in a long time

I liked much of this talk. Very thoughtful. 51:45 I would say I disagree that a “Godless” person has no moral compass. The majority of humans make large attempts not to be cast out of society, save the deeply mentally ill. We are social animals. This requires cooperation and treating people well. There are social consequences for mistreatment. The amygdala processes feelings, fear, and motivation, including avoiding loneliness or self-preservation. It’s a deep need. I always consider opposing ideas though- does believing in God cause a person to treat people better or have morality? No. The opposite is true as well. Not a simple answer, like she says.

Indeed it is not a simple answer. I’m working on an animation now about how to have a moral framework. There is no mention of God or religion in the video.

I'm an hour into this talk and it's covered a lot of ground pretty well, however when you're trying to understand those factors that powerfully influence 8 billion people's mindset, you have to identify their pre-suppositions. By their nature pre-suppositions are unthinkingly accepted as truth, because they're never questioned by the people who hold them. Scientism or Reductionistic Materialism presents humanity with a version of reality that pre-supposes a hell of a lot of profoundly destructive and amoral ideas to be true, especially in the sense that it never concerns itself with asking whether or not something SHOULD be done, only whether or not it can be done. (ref your video with Daniel Schmachtenberger). Combine that with the wisdom of the quote about the two types of fools: Those who believe in the literal truth of religion and those who believe religion has nothing to offer, and you have religious orthodoxy vs atheistic reductionistic materialism neatly summarised as being equally foolish by their own most fiercely defended presuppositions.

I recently saw the movie Maxxxine and the scariest part about it was that the audience clapped at the end! It was so sloppy with too many plot lines. There was almost no depth to any characters. It was terrible and I couldn't believe that is the standard to get onto the big screen these days. Movies are trash now:/

Don't agree with her in terms of the way Christianity and Marriage was presented but the rest I can agree to personally. 1:26:56 From a guy's perspective this blew my mind. So basically accountability for how people treat you as a woman and drawing a line. Makes me think the modern way of being with the hook-up culture really doesn't do women well mentally in the long term.

The Uruk-Hai are genetically modified elves. Peter Jackson's directing turned the battle scenes into a video game. Granted I'm 7. I read the trilogy every Autumn for eleven and I have generated my own images of the story. I have no relationship with video games but I think they damage human imagination and desensitized people.

I will fundamentally disagree on the stands of 59min mark to Baggage Claim about accepting different sort of lifestyle to religions which had fundament disagreement with each other. Since she is not the first person which I had heard this argument even before I was Christian. I also hear several claims about that Principle in the bible had not work for many years now, because "modern era"; that to me is no different from the claims of "modern audience" that that Hollywood directors and actors tend to make. If the principle in general works, it would work no matter what time period you are in. This is the fundamental thing I would disagree because people say there is a "lack of God" and then make statements about two different ideologies which is conflicting with one another. Then think there is no consequence to conflicting ideology. I don't think people actually know what they mean by that sometimes While I do agree with Baggage Claim in some issues, I would not agree with this one since I heard this type of argument one to many times. I also seen the results of them. Also Christians tend to be more accepting to people of many different lifestyles and those who become one, tend to make an effort to change from their former lifestyle.

I hear a lot of sentimental ruminating and lack of deeper analysis. Your core reference are christianity - I guess the old greeks would reference their beliefs and the nordics theirs pre christianity then? You should stick to bring on guests that is not only content creators to add quality. Your content usually inspires but this one was bad - You could literally go anywhere to find this kind of rumination of simple terms.

13:00 Okay, from here on I'mma assume you're chasing the algorithm. She's just saying socially acceptable thing for women to complain about in 2024. It was the Lord of the Rings example, too pandering to the WM audience. There is a way to have this conversation but not this way.
