Began carrying a Esee 3 for EDC (every day carry) duty. Currently carry a Case Stockman in Tru-Sharp stainless steel. Also comparing micarta to G10, both flat and 3D.
Hey man,Fellow Texan here.I’ve been carrying the esee3 as a EDC blade. It took a minute to get used to it.But I really like it as it’s such an easy blade to get sharp.I had come from a spyderco pm2..So it was a bit of a transition to me.But it’s been about two years now and I like it.Not too many fixed blades that fit the sweet spot of not to big not to small.
So far it’s been good, although I still tote the Case stockman with me too! Man, I put that Esee 3 on my ceramic rods, and damn, I thought it was sharp from the factory! I think that thing can cut you just by looking at it, haha!
I finally got had the need to resharpen my Esee 3. You ain’t kiddin’ on how easy it is to get a scary sharp edge back on it. I usually hit it with the ceramic rods on occasion and it stays hair-poppin’ sharp!!
@@TexasPatriotOffRoadAndOutdoors Esee(Rowen)really does a great job with the heat treatment on the 1095.I’ve had other 1095 blades that just didn’t feel as sharp. Yep the thin blade stock with the carbon steel makes for a scary sharp edge.I’ve tried others but I just keep coming back to the Esee3
I lash Paracord around the sheathe to function as a belt loop. 11 o'clock cross draw. I only own s35 and 440C esee 3/4. Not much difference between the two. All are 3d scale, barely a difference in size over the flat scales. In fact, I'd say the flat scales feel bigger on esees. I currently carry a Bradford guardian 3 in the same configuration, but esee 3 imo is the best fixed blade EDC.
