I'm loving all the new changes in this episode, and all these upgrades. My only issue is that I really like the sharp cuts between scenes, and all the building montages, so I hope you continue to do those things. Also, your occasional surrealist transition, or when you throw an ender pearl and do the jump cut on the teleport, or dig through the ground and do the jump cut falling into another area. Those are all really, really cool and I hope you continue to do those. I hope you keep up the amazing videos!

Etho! The AT-2035 is a condenser XLR microphone that needs proper phantom power to power it. You need to hook it up to a USB audio interface that can supply the necessary voltage to it, otherwise it will not work properly. Depending on how you hooked it up to your PC, that could cause the issues you're having.

Just as a heads-up, Etho. The reason your voice got all robotic in the middle of the episode there was likely due to a sample-rate mismatch between your Geforce Experience and your windows setting for your microphone. I don't remember offhand what Experience defaults to, but it's not a tough issue to fix, and will be a non-issue if you do switch to OBS Studio.

Fraps is awful recording software. Uses your CPU to transocde, doesnt use modern codecs, NVENC or your onboard hardware for transcoding video. Switch to OBS ;-)

Hey Etho. The audio chirping you where talking about is most likely due to audio quality mismatch, between your DAC and you GeForce, so you DAC might be outputting 48khz(this is the quality AKA: “Sample Rate” of the sound not a audible frequency, thank of it like FPS but for audio, the higher the frequency frequency AKA “Sample Rate”the clearer the audio) but GeForce might only record at 44.1khz, witch would make the chirping & robotic sound. Note: most equipment will only go up to 48khz

The audio sounds good when it works correctly, but there are multiple parts in the video where something is messed up. That said ...no matter what, don't you ever go back to these broken headsets, they aren't a solution.

Etho that was a huge quality jump, really appreciate the 60fps! You sounded a little echo-y and robotic around the 8 minute mark when I listened for it (with headphones). It may be worth a double check on your sound card and input ports?

Etho if you don't like cortana eating cpu in the background and all the bloat that comes with Windows 10 look up the windows 10 debloat script it is a god send for performance junkies like me. Also if you want to get rid of the "robotines?" Change your mic's bit rate in windows settings to match geforce. With much love to you my friend! ❤

Yo Etho, That static sounds like the audio interface. It can typically be one of 2 things. Either the USB powesave setting is boring it up (uncheck "allow windows to turn this device off" in device manager) or the bitrate is too high.

The star wipe transition and the heart transition is cool and all but the best transitions are the ones where you jump cut by mining down and end up in a random area or throw an ender pearl and teleport way farther than a regular ender pearl would displace you. Please keep doing these as it is really a unique feature of your videos that were created because you didn't have the software to do fancy things and it really makes it sort of personal within your videos that it is a specific trait that only your videos possess. Keep up the good work and thank you Etho for the amazing videos.

Reasons for the audio jittering/cutting out/glitching/static: Double check that your audio interface sample rate settings match your recording software sample rate settings, if one is 44.1khz and the other is 48khz, change both to be 48khz. Also, try increasing your buffer size. The more you increase this number, however, the more latency you will get. Try to keep the overall latency under 10ms, which should be an issue with that fancy new computer! The mic itself sounds great, has more low end than that little logitech mic did. I think it is better to keep that in its natural-sounding state rather than worrying about eq'ing it heavily. Might try a high pass filter though set to something like 40hz just to be sure you cut out any rumble

Beside the audio glitches the new mic sounds great, (i think the audio glitches might be due to using Geforce experience). 60fps video is awesome! Also don't feel like you need to change too much with your editing, the simplicity of your old edits was part of the charm.

Etho, I don’t think enough people tell you this: You are the greatest RU-vidr of all time. I watched you about 7 years ago, maybe even longer. And to this day, I come back and you still have just as much fun and energy as ever. That takes a lot of effort. I am so glad you haven’t stopped, and I will cry the day you do.
