As much as I love that he has certain "rules" in his videos (not mining clay, my swearing, weird names for tools, what's behind the door?, etc.), I love this episode, and the editing/music in it. I didn't know he had it in him, but it was really enjoyable to watch :)

I DID IT!! After several months of catching up, I've finally gotten to the latest episode. Woo. Actually, though, after binging all these episodes I finally get why etho is considered such a legend. He has a very different approach to his LP than most other people I've seen (or that I take when playing) but it's really awesome seeing his creativity shine. Especially when taking what seems like something that should be impossible to do in MC and forcing through a way of actually pulling it off (with various degrees of success). Anyway, just want to say thanks for all the entertainment so far and keep up the great work.

I really liked how with the lyrics you lined it up with what you were doing. "Through mountains, can't keep us from the sea" and goes through a tunnel in a mountain to the ocean, "shadows in the trees" while walking through the trees, many, many more examples. That subtle touch really made the video for me.

theres a reason hes pretty much the only youtuber people still watch for minecraft. i watch a few others but he has consistently been making incredible minecraft videos since very early on. so many other people have dropped MC or dont make MC videos like they used to be. etho's have as much heart and spirit as the first ones he made. it shows how much having a passion for a game can make vidro quality go up.

also, I always put a bow in my off hand because you can still draw it and use it normally. (unless they've changed that in 1.10, I've been playing a lot of creative recently)

i always have the food in my offhand, because not only can xou use it no matter what you have in your onhand, but i tend to forget about my hunger bar especially in a fight and it helps to keep my saturation.

The first 4 minutes of this video (i.e. the music and mini-tour) felt like a "this-is-the-end-of-this-series" type video, and I was so immersed that I had forgotten that Etho was just showcasing shaders. I was very emotional... and it's hard to admit but almost in tears. It's been a long 500 episodes together, Etho (and gang), and although I have never commented once that I appreciate you and your videos - I do, and I have since the beginning. I want you to know that I am here until the end, for better or worse. I know a lot of people say this, and it is cliché, but keep up the good work, Etho. I have an idea, maybe you should use a shader whenever you do a building episode, like the last one you did. You don't make them that often so it would be a cool thing to look forward to. I think it would make it a lot more enjoyable to watch and make your creation look a lot better in that moment. I just can't stop imagining what the last building episode would look like while using a shader...

MagicShroom its not that cpu intensive since its optimized quite well. It only really gets laggy if theres alot going on (redstone, mass farms, that sort of thing)

Dipper Pines Did you see inside the mancave? Most of Etho's builds are underground and imagine everything being that dark all the time. The 3rd shader pack ( Mr something) is the lesser of three evils in my opinion.

I liked when you had Triton on and you stepped into the leafy tunnel that goes to the underground village. I think that was one of the best looking shots in the whole episode.

Water texture is the only thing I change in my game. I like Vanilla alot but cannot stand the water.

Dear Etho! I know this is an old video, but I did watch it just now almost one year after it was released. I don´t know why - maybe I am in a weired mood - but your montage at the beginning really cought me and was very touching. You are doing an awesome job and I want to thank you for providing constant and reliably premium entertainement. I'm amazed at how many people downloaded my 3D resource pack after I posted the link last episode. I want to say thanks for noticing the post and also I hope everyone is enjoying it, seriously like 100 random downloads out of nowhere so thanks :D I wonder if I should make like a post for it somewhere, like Minecraft forums or Planet Minecraft. Side Note: My pack contains a lot of Bdubs textures and variants because he did do that damn good! I would have to say that after Vanilla textures, Bdubs comes 2nd place. I just love the original feel of the game though. DIE HARD MINECRAFT FAN! lol

This is pretty epic My only issue with shaders is that underground bases make it feel like you are staring at a foggy streetlight after just waking up all the time. I think you can tweak the effects though for the blur on the lighting to make the underground tolerable. Same for the texture packs, I believe. That you can kind of frankenstein them together by removing features you don't like then layering it... soo much work for perfection though

I dislike a lot of the orange tinge that many shaders packs have so I had to find one with minimal change to the colour of light and without the blurs and haziness and then edit out some of the undesirable effects

The off hand is fab for building. If you need to put down a lot of the same blocks, you can keep the mouse button down and automatically, when you run out of block, it starts selecting from the off hand. Great for terraforming. And I love vanilla texture, since it is the original and the intended one to be used for the game. Loving the vids, Red

I use the Bdubs texture pack all the time and I love it! I've found that in some ways it only fits in with old style buildings but it still looks great in your world. Love your videos keep up the great work!!!

In a strange way, due to the montage, I found this episode to be somewhat emotional. Like many of you, I've been watching Etho for many years now, and seen the same areas, such as the man cave, countless times. But somehow, seeing these areas through different eyes made me realize just how much my life has changed over the years, but one of the things that have remained constant is Etho. I still look forward to hearing his voice, the long-running and sometimes corny jokes, and seeing what we'll be building every episode. I know one of these days I will watch my final episode of Ethoslab. But until then, thank you for all the good times. - Bruce
