i was her driver when she was here in toronto during her promotional tour of the media, it was myself and her and believe me she was class, intelligent, and beautiful and she treated me like a human being unlike other artist that think their above everyone.

This haunting song will rip your heart out by the roots... and gently give it back, but somehow the pain it inspires is so beautiful. If you aren't touched by this... you may not be alive. Tissues anyone? Anyone?

Evanescence is from my hometown here in Little Rock. This song came out a few months after I met my wife in 2003 and we both loved it. We got married in 2004. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2016, so now this song has a special place in my heart. Thanks for reacting to it in the same emotional way I do and for loving it. ❤️❤️❤️

I forgot that this was one of my all time favorite songs. This album was on repeat back when I was fresh out of highschool. Didn't realize revisiting this song would bring back so many memories 😢

I first heard this song in Edmonton Alberta very soon after it was released. I was captivated by the passion of the lyrics, and emotion of her vocal delivery, and I still am.

Makes me think of my son who was murdered when he was 21, almost 9 years ago. As a mother who would wipe away his tears, chase away his fears and hold his hand as a child. And that he still has all of me.😢 I miss him.

This is truly one of the most beautiful songs you’ll ever hear, and I’m glad you found the time to sit down and listen to it. Amy Lee has such a hauntingly, amazing voice.

First heard this song right after my Grandma died. She was 97 and always seemed immortal and we were very close. It really hurt to lose her and this song really echoed my feelings.

I absolutely LOVE Evanescence, Amy Lee and her amazing voice. This is one of my favorite songs by her, it also holds a place in my heart for personal reasons.

My mom committed suicide when I was 13 after my father had a year long affair with another woman. I can remember her being so gutted. I literally did wipe away her tears when she cried. She was my best friend and the crescendo of “Ive been alone along” usually can still bring a tear to my eye even after almost 13 years. Great reaction! Subbed.

Every time I listen to this song brings me to tears, every time I hear the first note my eyes well up then I reflect on he pain and the reason for the pain then BOOM tears are streaming... This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard

One of my best friends in high school, Doug, (a year above me) had a sister Deanne, (A year below me) .... she was a friend, but I had the biggest crush on her. Me being me, to chicken shit to say anything. I graduated in '91 ... she in '92. The following year she was riding dirt bikes with her then BF (she was the passenger) a bad jump at "local" sand track and they hit a tree ... he lived she passed. This song came out shortly after and still gets me to tears. Have not heard it in years, thank you for reacting to it, brought back a ton of memories ..... mad respect to you.

I was in high school when this song and I just remember singing this at the top of my lungs whenever it was played on the radio! Even had it burned on a mix cd from limewire! (Shout out to those who remember burning cds 💿🤣🤣🤣), but in all seriousness this some always pulls at my heart strings.

So many songs remind me of my wife. I used to think of her when Id hear this. Think of us together and how our 31 years had flown by so easily and lovingly. She passed suddenly Jan 2019 and this just makes me cry now.

When I was first diagnosed with OCD, Tourette's Syndrome and Trichitillomania in February of 2000, I wasn't quite 20 years old yet. But when I first heard this song, it just spoke to me. I got the album and oh my God, I listened to it every single freaking day for months! I cried every time I listened I listened to it because I felt so connected to a lot of the songs as well as lead singer Amy Lee. That voice of hers..ugh! Crazy how music we listen to during different times in life brings back those emotions. It’s not that we care about hose people or events anymore. It’s that emotion hits use. This was one of the songs I listen to during the sad stage of my divorce.

It was in 2004 and I was 12 at the time. I don't remember exactly where I was when I've first heard it, but it definitly makes me remember how life was so much easier when I wad 12, just the atmosphere, the early 2000's, school, friends, games, really great song.

My cousin turned me on to Evanessence... I used to BLAST their songs in the hood when we were younger lol. This is one of the most beautiful songs of that era. I absolutely remember hearing this on the CD. Love this one and almost all of their songs from this album actually

The lyrics of this song are telling a story of loss and the frustration and pain that are inherent therein. Ben Moody wrote this song about his grandfather who died, and who he believed was haunting him. How literal that is I’m not 100%. Mentally through memories, or perhaps he felt his presence. But if you read into them knowing these things, the interpretation makes sense. This is not a romantic love song, but a song of mourning. That’s why Ben is wandering in a Melancholy state throughout the video. The fact is, Ben wrote the words.

i grew up with evanescence. my mom grew us up on music. not just rock but music. any genre. and i grew up upon that

I think that, for most people, this song can dredge up memories/feelings about 'that one' that ended up somehow, in some way, scraping your heart raw - but still somehow, leaving you feeling tender toward them ... even through the pain/hurt.

Another great artist is Tracy Chapman! She has this song called “fast car” that’s deep.

I can not come up with words to describe the feelings this song brings up in me, I actually relive 25 years with my wife ups, downs, babies, all the way to our first grandchild. The feeling that actually broke me and put me on my knees when an officer at my door telling my she died, the look in the faces of our girls and the 6 years without her but also having her influences, her “ presence “ thru that so to speak so unmistakably all around. Pain doesn’t heal in time, time fools me to believe this, time helps me make that loss part of me so it doesn’t cause so much pain. But this song,,,,,, almost puts me back on my knees. Maybe this makes me weak and I should “ man up “ but I’m just saying what I truly feel right now
