Yes, Someone who appreciates Banshee Boardwalk! Just the eerie setting and darkness throughout the course makes it one of my all time favourites. I remember the giant cheep cheep scaring me half to death every time it jumped over the bridge. I await it's return in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's DLC! (Also I didn't know it was a haunted building because as a kid it gave off the vibe that it was an abandoned bathroom with graffiti, you learn something new every day)

Airship Fortress will always be my #1. Drifting down the tower while listening to this epic theme is just too good

While I think ds has the most inconsistent track quality in the series, when the tracks were good, they were god tier and easily amongst the series best. Waluigi Pinball, airship fortress, Delfino square, tick tock clock and Luigi's mansion are just classics. I also appreciate ds for having tracks actually feel like they come from the Mario universe like Mario 3s airships, Delfino plaza, Luigi's mansion and tick tock clock from 64. Even peach gardens has a strong 64 vibe and while I personally hate desert Hills, I do appreciate the Mario 3 reference.

How are any of the snes tracks lower than Baby Park? I kinda understand Choco Island 2 because the entire track is slippery and ramp spam but the rest are 10000000000% better than Baby Park, the track that is literally just an oval that could've easily been replaced with DS Test Circle and would actually be better because it's over quicker

Airship fortress will forever be my favorite track. It combines super mario bros platformers and mario kart games perfectly.

I was expecting Waluigi Pinball at top and i was ready to roll my eyes but it's finally nice to see someone who dosent think it's the best. It's the most overrated track IN MY OPINION and while the theme is great the part before the pinball feels like a circuit track with a disco in the background.

If GBA Luigi Circuit was called Luigi Airfield I reckon people would have a better opinion of it. I swear half the fanbase hates the circuit name as much if not more than the aesthetics that come along with it

I totally agree with your comments about Waluigi Pinball. It’s still one of my favorite Mario Kart tracks of all time, but the ending just isn’t well-utilized. They should’ve added more obstacles or something.

I'm with you! I really like Desert Hills, it's my favorite desert track because of it's music, it's based on world 2 from Super Mario Bros 3 with the same name, the Angry Sun and the block Pyramid, I'd love to see that course back!

mario kart DS is interesting because it has some of the most incredible and popular courses in the entire series, yet it has probably the worst retro tracks in the entire series aswell

I still remember refusing to play Luigi's Mansion when I first played MKDS, I was literally a toddler and it honestly freaked toddler me out. Nowadays though, it's such a good course, and one I remember well thanks to my... Special relationship with it as "the reason I did all the retro tracks before seeing Flower Cup". Also yeah no Airship Fortress is probably my favourite overall. I want it to come back, but I know they'll just port the Tour version, which I HATE WITH A FIERY VEHEMENCE as it just doesn't do its atmosphere justice. The lava doesn't work, the audience doesn't work, it's too bright and unsubtle, I HATE IT, just base it off the MK7 version instead and I'll be happy.

If Nintendo does not add Waluigis pinball to the DLC, I will start a riot.

It's me. I am all 3 of the people that like choco island 2. It's by far the best snes track in the game and might even crack my top 10. If you really think the mud and ramps are enough to put it dead last, all I can say is skill issue

Nice ranking however I've noticed with so many of these ranking type videos that the gameplay in the background is never great. In Delfino Square you were constantly drifting into slow down areas and bumping into things!

I actually I think I know why some people don't like some of the retro tracks for this game. Nintendo is trying something new. That's probably why some people liked wave one for mario kart 8 deluxe but others didn't cause it looked too much like mario kart 7. However once they got to wave two and actually turned into MK8Deluxe people liked it. Love air ship fortress!!!!!!

Sometimes i feel like tick tock clock and waluigi pinball are a bit overrated, but still good tracks!

I don't really like this games retro courses, but I think Mario Kart DS has some of the best new courses in the series so I'll rank them. 16. Figure 8 Circuit. I like the kind of realistic raceway theme here. However this track is really simple and generic even for a starting course, however I don't think it's as bad as everyone says it is. 15. Yoshi Falls. I love this track's concept but it's so short that I feel that it's over before it starts 14. Wario Stadium. Track has a good layout but aside from no tricks this track is kind of ugly looking. 13. Mario Circuit. Like most Mario tracks it's decent. I don't have a lot to say about this one 12. DK Pass. Good snow track although it definitely could benefit from tricks on the downhill part. 11. Desert Hills. Good desert track can't think of anything about it you haven't said already. 10. Shroom Ridge. I really like the part near the end where you're dodging traffic on a narrow cliff. 9. Luigi's Mansion. I like this track but definitely feel there should have been more inside of the mansion itself. 8. Peach Gardens. Can't think of much to say here it's a great track. 7. Cheep Cheep Beach. Even though the track isn't very long I love how varied it is from the pier to the beach to the jungle 6. Tick Tock Clock. I like how this track turns a SM64 level into a cool racecourse with fun mechanics like the alternating gears at the end. 5. Bowser's Castle. Probably my favorite BC track I love the spinning thing near the end at the courtyard. 4. Airship Fortress. Amazing track can't think of anything to say that hasn't been said before. 3. Rainbow Road. I love the music and the double corkscrew even if the gravity is a little wonky there. 2. Waluigi Pinball. Looks great again can't really say anything about this track that hasn't been said before 1. Delfino Square. Coconut Mall is so great because it feels like you are driving through a mall instead of a mall themed race course. The same thing is true here but with a town, I love how alive this track feels.

I’m not actually a big fan of waluigi pinball. Constantly playing it in Mario kart 8 worldwide has destroyed any respect I had. But airship fortress and delfino square are great.

I'm not and edgy person, so i'm not going to say Waluigi Pinball is overrated, imo it's just the best track in the series, period. Other than that, I'd say that my top consists mostly of Airship Fortress, Peach Garden, Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Road. In all honesty, i believe that MKDS' rainbow road is the most underrated one. Not as good as 7's which remains on top, but it's easily my second favorite one, even dethroning Wii's. I wouldn't go as far as placing Delfino Square as high, but i'm always happy to race on it, that's for sure. It's my go-to alongside 8's Sunshine Airport if i wanna get some Sunshine vibes without actually playing the game (and that's thankful bc i hate the game :'-) )

Finally someone who likes GBA Luigi Circuit and Desert Hills. I dont understand why people hate does to track so much. And if i have to share my hot take... Luigi mansion is not a good track. Twisted mansion is the better ghost mansion track in my opinion. Come on on Luigi's mansion you are only in the mansion for 1/4 of the track and 1/2 on mud, in twisted mansion you are actually crazy in the mansion for 1/2 with of course 1/4 under water (why? But its better then 1/2 track of mud) But its way better then Luigi's mansion and luigi needs a better mansion track fast. Also Finally someone who does not say waluigi pinball is the best. But i would choose Airship Fortress is my favorit.

Hi :D DS Is my definite favourite Game from this series, even beating MK7 and 8 Deluxe. This game simply was everything in my childhood and together with classmates I spend hours and hours to play this. (Sometimes even with 8 Players all owning the game) So anyway I add some comments on your placings. 32.Yeah, such a short and dull track, But what I hate the most here is how slippy the track is. You barely can control your Kart. 31.Im okay with this one, but Its obvious that this track is boring and simple 30.I actually like this one 29.Underrated, I love the vibe of this track and the system with the deep water. + The music is fantastic 28.The GCN and MK8 Versions are awesome and so chaotic. However here and this game this track is pretty boring (Oh and why only 5 rounds ?) 27.Simple and bland track. But I can like it a bit 26.Im absolutely not a fan of this one, its just a circle but at the same time the Waterfalls are painful to handle 25.Well I personally really like this one, love the winter feeling on this track.
