Guys travel 8000+ miles just to go salivating over broke single moms and scammers. Then find themselves in the same drama situations they were running from to begin with leaving one shit show for another. Simping has not only made it harder for the next guy, but also ruined Filipinas that could otherwise be decent women. It isn't what it used to be anymore.

Western women have a tendency to reflect their own lonely misery on others, so the worst thing that can happen to a Filipina is listening to western women! and their so called advise. If you see an expat / man in the Philippines, he most likely had enough of the western culture and western women and he would want change and willing to live the simple life. When I went to the Philippines almost 30 years ago to meet my in-laws who lived in Alcala, Pangasinan, I was struck by how strong the faith in God was compared to the USA. In reading the story of Rebekah and combining it with the story of how Eve was taken out of Adam, it makes me wonder about women today. As a man who spent my 20’s wasting my time on women that didn’t seem to have any convincing interest in me, I finally met my wife who was convinced that she belonged to me. Where are the women of faith in their late teens and 20’s that want a husband and family and like Rebekah when asked if she would go with Abraham’s servant said “I will go”. God’s woman for a man is the woman that like Adam, God brings, God’s man for a woman, is the one that God leads her to and she says, “ I will go”. Oh that there would still be women of faith for my sons in their 20’s.

If you lead with your wallet, that is all you will ever be seen as! So many say "Never give money to someone you haven't met in person," and yes so many still do it. Those are also the people that'll be commenting on videos soon that a Filipina scammed them. NO she didn't, she just accepted what you gave her, you scammed yourself, if you listen and don't send money, then you can't be scammed. Why do they continue doing it? Because there are a lot of lonely and desperate men out there that like the attention they get from doing it, and it makes them feel good believing they are helping to make someone else's life better. You say foreigners are ruining "good" Filipina's, but if she actually was a "good" Filipina, as all interviews say, she would have declined to accept money/material things offered to her, so I would say "NO" foreigners aren't ruining "good" Filipina's, they are just showing who the "bad" ones are. Personally, I would place the majority of blame on the Filipina, regardless of what the foreigners say or do, the Filipina is still the one that made the choice to change, and not for the better. You also have so many Filipina channels giving BAD and WRONG information, like Smart Girl channel, saying foreigners need to give Filipina's $400 a month and to the mall for a shopping date and Filipina's have multiple relationships, that is making Filipina's look like cheating gold diggers, but I don't hear any Filipino complaining about that, which would mean they are condoning that behavior and believe it to be true. You also have those Filipina channels that just talk about sexual topics, which again is giving foreigners the wrong impressions of Filipino's, and again no complaining about that. The impressions foreigners have of Filipino's is GIVEN to them BY FILIPINO'S actions and behaviors, channels like those are giving foreigners the wrong impression of Filipino's. Foreigners are broken and changing because of western women, they take western women's poor attitudes, behaviors and personal character and apply it to all women. Filipina's will need to be patient and EARN foreigners trust before they will open up to her, and when they do she NEEDS to remain HUMBLE, what is given can easily be taken away. One thing that NEEDS to be discussed early on in the relationship is both of their intentions and expectations. If she EXPECTS him to pay for her family's every need and he doesn't INTEND to, they are too far apart and can move on without anyone getting hurt. A relationship can be just as easily destroyed by her family's interference as it can by her attitude and behaviors. Filipina's should watch a western woman or 2 videos or even better, manosphere type videos (GriffinMind channel) and see how they are behaving, and LEARN NOT to be that way, that is what foreigners have been dealing with and want to get AWAY from. Act/behave in any way like those western women and your chances a foreigner will be interested are all but gone. P.S. A woman saying "_____ make a man a real man," is completely meaningless, it's nothing more than a shaming tactic of western women. A man knows what makes a man, a woman only know what makes a man for her.

It would enlightening to see a video with a "High Value Man" i.e. Foreigner who doesn't have any or only a little money. I would like to meet the couple where "Love Conquers All" a poor foreigner who is married and/or has a simple Filipino girlfriend. God Bless to you and your children!

I don't know, Leah. I see it a bit differently, but I think we do still agree... It's not about character, good or bad, male or female, and it's not about waiting until you really "know" the other person. People change, and they change due to experiences... like being "spoiled." I've seen so many good and humble Filipinas become "ruined" by well-meaning-but-naive generous foreigners. Myself included. We foreigners come to the Philippines from our privileged worlds and see such "poverty" around, so many "sad" stories, and we want to be generous and help, we want to shower our loved one with little gifts because they are so delighted and happy. Many Filipinas I've met have never had a birthday celebrated, or been given flowers, or gotten a ring that wasn't costume jewelry. Imagine being the one who can light up their eyes, their lives... only to find that soon they (and relatives) act differently. I don't blame Filipinas, nor do I blame the foreigners. It's not about waiting to see the underlying "true character" of a person revealed. It's just what happens, right? It's what happens, yes, if we are really not strong and thoughtful enough to build good relationships that can handle such stressors. It's what happens when worlds collide. Thanks for bringing this topic up again, Leah. I think it deserves a whole lot more thought and less blame. So many other channels get into the blame game and that maybe brings the clicks but it's not helping a danged thing. I see you struggling to help and make sense of it, and you're doing it.

Hi Leah. Blessings to you, Gary, and the family. I think you hit on a very important issue. The man needs to take the leadership role in the relationship. He needs to set the boundaries of what behavior is and is not acceptable. Good filipina needs to know what is expected of her and what will not be tolerated. I think too many guys don't bother to do this. Perhaps they are afraid they will lose their GF. But if they want peace, they need to do it and be ready to leave if the woman doesn't want to follow his lead. A good filipina will appreciate him taking the lead and setting boundaries. As you noted, a good filipina will respect him for that. If she doesn't, then move on because you will never have peace with that woman. Thank you and God bless.

I started out doing a paper on filipina/american relationships. It has been very interesting and I am attentive to how so many filipinas have changed over the years. Many filipinas have become RU-vidrs and how they represent themselves as filipinas to their male audience around the world gives the wrong impression. They have become street smart and know how to entertain in front of a camera to entertain her audience in exchange for money. I do not understand why an American man would accept this behavior from his girlfriend, fiance, or worse case scenario, his wife. You are the wife of a Christian man and you are led by God's love and respect of self. Social media is a fantastic avenue for education but can produce unstable environments and I do not see this changing any time soon, or will worsen as more filipinas are financiallly supported to entertain with sexual overtones. As your husband is a follower of God, possibly your guidance to filipinas within your community and church might encourage distance from social media and involve them with activites within the church................your made a few suggestions and generating excitement through guidance might be something you and the women within the church might consider.

I hope the bad expats don’t ruin everything. And I hope Filipinas don’t change either though.

Very good video. Men should always lead, but do so with kindness and gentleness. He should never put his wife on a pedestal. Be very good to her but don't tolerate any disrespect. You have to set boundaries and enforce them. If you don't she will lose respect. Once it is gone, it is almost impossible to get back.

Gift giving is appreciated at first, but it's natural that over time people begin to expect it and eventually depend on it. Appreciation and respect shouldn't be the goal of giving.

It all depends on the mindset of the Filipina and what the foreigner is willing to tolerate. A lot of foreign men are brought up to respect women and some turn to be too nice which can backfire if they meet a bad woman.

Hi Leah, Yeah from the poison i see from most expat vloggers and in their comment section they are still living in west mentality and no hope to adapt and be content there or anywhere else. But has to be said you Filipina's are not all angels like your good self, many cheat and lie for a past time and will rip a guy off given half a chance and call it a hussle to make it sound acceptable to her mind. Makes me laugh the expats that are obsessed with their class standing there still depending on their budget amount to boast about. Agree you need to choose your friends wisely there, i will be low key keeping to myself and enjoying the culture as much as possible.

She needs and wants rules, please make them so she has a framework for the relationship. And listen to her also, but after listening don’t be afraid to over rule. Leah, I have two questions that have nothing to do with your subject today; still I hope that you have time to answer. #1: Are Protestant church services done in Tagalog, local dialect, or English? How hard would it be to find English church service? Does it depend on which province that I live in or does it depend if the church is in the city vs. the country? #2: I am too old to learn two new languages. If I come to the PH should I learn Tagalog or the local dialect (If I move to Samar that would be Waray)? Salamat good lady David

Many filipinas possess traditional values and characteristics that are very appealing to a western man but an individual that is deeply addicted to social media is a huge red flag to any high value person. It is one of the worst psychological addictions and usually destroys any possibility of a deep soul level union with another. Truth is we gravitate toward people of the same vibration, or we attract who we are not what we might desire. It's a double problem. You have folks in the Ph. who like to take advantage. But then you also have these guys, in the states for instance. They are damaged by social media and go into LDRs that a child could see through. They don't though and keep sending money, some Filipinas can have several going 'n can basically quit their daytime job. I don't blame the filipinas, if you can get money for nothing, some will do it. You can see on FC how some ladies look for guys who live in certain states, it just means they only want an LDR, chances are the guy never goes to the Ph. She can get money from him and others like him for a long time. He won't find anyone in real life in the states, he's probably not even looking anymore, he has his scam LDR.

You have bad expats and bad Filipina’s so what can you do

As a foreigner married to a Filipina province girl living in the US. My two cents on the topic is that its the man's fault if she will change (most times) because they treat the Filipina like they would treat a western woman, then the change is inevitable. If you adjust your attitude and treatment of her that she is feeling loved and supported by you.... She will choose you and ignore the barrage of negative influences from the western Filipinas that she will undoutedly meet. Going on 8 years here in America and she is still like right out of the province but now knows what a plane and good restaurant is.

I have followed since your first vlog...I have seen you grow, (well not vertically! 😇), and develop your channel and yourself...this was not one of your better episodes...

Part of what is ruining Filipinas, I suspect, is getting their first real taste of what life if like when there is SOME MONEY in it. At first, they are super thankful and feel blessed, However, no matter how much you have, there are examples around you of people who have more (with exceptions for Putin, Bezos and Musk, I guess). Please don't lean too heavily on the men for spoiling these ladies (though I agree that is part of the issue). Take your dear friend Jessel as an example. I don't think John is really spoiling her so much as her desire to get more money. Her channel looks like she is moving in the direction of eventually opening an Only Fans page (hope not), which saddens me everyday to the point I am seriously considering unsubscribing to avoid the sad feelings. God bless her, her family, you, your family and the "whole gang". When I retire to the area, I hope we eventually become friends.

this is not going to popular here but im curious. ive seen lot of expats talk about the stuff you say here and i just threw it out as sour grapes, but to hear you say it makes me think a little more. western men blame feminism on all their relationship and dating problems. women who are tired of being treated like garbage, refusing to put up with controlling insecure men. the western men in turn do the exact same thing which is leaving the western women, which they now despise, and travel to PH to find women who are more "traditional" meaning controllable. you can use the term conservative, or religious, but it still comes down to a guy that wants a woman to listen to him, never talk back, do what he says, or like you said, be the leader of the household and family. its just strange to me. the irony. there are extremes in every walk of life, but what are the things that make feminism bad? shouldn't women want to be treated equal? shouldn't all of us want that? and whoever answers this, please try to actually say something meaningful and don't just use popular buzz words. this is a serious question.

If Stephen in Iowa sends money to Susan in Dumaguete every week or whenever she asks for it, she will come to expect these windfalls of money! 💸 She will not appreciate him, and she probably has 5, 6, 9, 10 other men that she is also scamming. 😲 I had a Facebook friend of a friend ask me for money. Her name is Liza and she lives in The Philippines. She wrote that her baby son needed a nebulizer and she asked me to pay for his nebulizer. This is a common scam. A filipina woman tells a western man she has a sick mother, sister or child and she needs money for medicine or some medical procedure. 💸 But her mother is just fine. She wants money to waste on expensive clothes and dinner at a fancy restaurant. 🌳🏫🌾🌳 .

I disagree because Filipinos want foreigners to begin with thinking. They're rich, give them a better life. And when the founder does do that, they become like westerners because they wash them on TV. In Filipinos with farmers as mates compare each other, try to do out. Each other in material things.. So we cannot ruin a person when they think that a farmer is rich to begin with and wanting a better life with material things. It's called getting spoiled
