Yet, I got on a plane this last year for the first time, and I'm not dead that I'm aware, so I guess it went alright. But also that probably just means I have to be afraid of everything else now.

I watched some of them recently for a bit of nostalgia but I can tell you now, these movies are pretty shit. Besides the elaborate deaths, it's actually extremely boring and the characters do stupid things just for the sake of the plot. It's a bit of a mixed bag, maybe watch it while you're doing something else

My friends and I like the series. We have watched all movies together. We will definitely watch if a new one comes out. I just wish the 4th one was called "Final destination 4" and 5th was called "The final destination" since the 5th was a prequel.

Fun fact: For Final Destination (2000) the original casting choices for Alex and Clear were Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. Both actors would later star in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy (2002-2007)

Fun fact, the reason the death note gives people heart attacks if no method is specified is because the police in Japan don’t investigate those, and it’s the default excuse for cases they don’t want to work on anymore (such as suicides, political killings, etc).

If you watch the first movie with commentary, you find out that one of the production assistants is named Clear. The rest of the cast in that one have names of famous horror movie directors (Browning, Hitchcock, Murnau, Luton).

Not a mention that this whole franchise was originally supposed to be an X-Files episode? I thought that was obligatory to bring up in stuff covering these films.. Do kids these days even know what X-Files is? Now I feel old. Oh, and it's my firm belief that Death is just bored and stages these elaborate scenarios to bring back excitement and fun to his job.

49:16 Honestly we should blame the makers of Final Destination 3 for messing that up. They had a choose your own adventure option on the DVD that offed Kimberly and the Cop in a news article. Because that’s not exactly Canon but the creators said you can consider it real if you want to, No one will ever learn how they stayed alive in future films. Those of us that followed the FD books too though, know that the Kimberly method has worked before. You can’t cheat it 100%, but you can be resuscitated.

@@codyjack4057 I believe they say (or imply) Death will just skip to the next person if it fails, but will just loop back around when opportunity strikes. But nothing is keeping Death from playing the long game and creating a blood clot in the institutionalized persons brain. It can manipulate stationary objects in a Rube Golbergian fashion to shuffle mortal coils, I'd bet it can make a little plaque buildup in an artery.

@@TheElectricMayhemit's funny because Death literally has no "rules" in the franchise in actuality lol. Characters can reset the chain all they want and can try all the tricks and loopholes, etc. but none of it matters literally at all. Death can just kill whoever it wants whenever, and there's NO time schedule for it either. At some point, can't the characters just chalk up their supernatural deaths to unluckily times demises?

Actually on the dvd version of FD3 there is a choose your fate dvd game that allows you make decisions through out the movie. During the subway scene it will prompt you to read a newspaper and if you do you'll find out that Burke and Kimberly died in a woodchipper "accident" so they didn't beat death either.

I actually love the "Final Destination" movies, especially the third one, with the roller coaster. I love them the same way I love the crappy original "Conjuring" movies, before they started figuring out the "universe". Just a silly crapfest that you don't need to think about much. Something both fun and melancholy to watch on dreary days. Also, the twist at the end of five was actually really interesting, especially upon second viewing, when you notice all the little clues the director put in.

I hear the theory that the Candyman guy uses the people with premonitions as Guinea Pigs to learn more about how Death works. It may have some truth on it, after all he only mentions that killing somebody else will make Death spare you on what's chronologically the first movie, and after seeing that it didn't work he doesn't mentions it to the characters in the next films... but also, dying for a moment and being ressucitated seems to work and he doesn't mentions it to the guys from the 4th movie so, who knows what he wants? What he really, really wants?

Maybe he's cheating death himself and work as a mortician so he can keep track of all the deaths, he then gives dubious tips as experiments, when there's no clear death list he stays cooped up in the morgue like clear in the asylum, when there's an obvious death list he ongoing he comes out and investigate/experiment until hiw turn is near

Apparently the reason why there was such a odd scene after terry’s death was because test audiences had such a hard time calming down that they had to include that scene to give the audience a chance to reclaim themselves

The original Final Destination caused me to break up with my first girlfriend. Apparently laughing at the insane way they killed of the hot teacher made her upset. My soon to be ex didn’t seem to get that these stupid horror movies are meant to be laughed at and not taken seriously on any level.

These are my favorite series (though it’s almost tied with YBOC) of Jordan’s! I’ve never wanted to see the Saw films bc I like legit thrillers & implied gore like Hitchcock. Can’t do torture porn. But my curiosity about these cults intrigued me. Not to mention I like just hanging out with Jordan for an hour or two.

I noticed Jordan was saying that Kimberly from the 2nd movie should of told people how to beat death. Technically it's because Kimberly and the cop died off screen, death by woodchipper. I think they cut it from the movie since they weren't able to film it as planned. I always wondered why the cop never had a death experience when he was the first to die in the pile up during the vision...

For why the cop never had the near-death experience, he was supposed to die before Eugene, meaning, because of the backwards Death plan, he would need to die after Eugene. If Kimberly didn’t drown herself, the cop would have died soon after. Also, the woodchipper incident only occurs in a game on the special features of Final Destination 3, so its canoncity is debatable.

That staff member retorting that he's Chinese, when the old dude said he, "killed a bunch of you people in Korea," is somewhat ironic. Given that Chinese troops were very involved in the Korean War, the old dude might have been technically correct. That, and the staff member didn't pay attention in history class.

90's teens did actually go to Paris. At least some Canadian teens did as part of their senior trip. And I think that most teens at least did a senior trip. Which made this movie kinda relatable back then.

In answer to Jordan's question, sucking a cut finger is actually an instinctive response since the suction stimulates nerves to ease the pain and I have always been told it also helps to remove dirt and (somehow) aids immunity. I'm not a medical professional, feel free to fact check all of this, but that's what I know about the subject.

Basically it's about how some things are out of our control. Something mundane could kill us. We could drop dead any moment. The only escape is new life or taking a life. So, either a very situational scenario or having to bite the bullet of taking another life.

Watching you go through the movies in succession made me remember why I dislike the 4th one so much. The 5th one gets a little crazy but the fact that they’re on flight 180 at the end blew my mind, I didn’t pick up on it at all. I remember feeling like the earlier ones had more atmosphere and actually tried to creep you out.
