Fun fact: Matthew Mercer who voiced Leon S. Kennedy from the games and was also the voice actor who was responsible for recording the audition's official reference audio, tried out for the role in Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) and didn't get it. He still finds the situation hilarious to this day.

I like how when the original trilogy was out everyone was like “So we’re really going to only have like three characters from the games?” And then 4 introduced Chris for practically no reason except because Claire’s in it and then they got mad at the fans or something for 5 and were like, “Fine you want characters from the games? Here’s more characters from the games, and we kill most of them. Are you happy now? Look what you made us do to your precious game characters. Look at it!” and then went back to doing their own thing immediately after.

Fun Fact: The stunt woman that was used for the stunt of Alice crashing the motorcycle got FUCKED UP when a prop wasn't moved out of the way in time. She shattered her left arm to the point it would have taken teesers and a magnifying glass to reassemble, degloved her face, twisting her spine, among many other injuries. After a 12 day medicated coma, she lost the arm and had to go through massive physical therapy. The production company that hired her only offered her $30,000 compensation but she sued them and won millions of dollars. On a personal note, as someone who has literally been disemboweled, her injuries sound nauseatingly horrific. I've sat in the OR recovery room with a gash from pelvis to pectorals where a bad sneeze would have spilled my gut but holy hell just hearing about what happened to her makes my spine tingle with absolute disturbance. I do not envy her and I feel so bad that she had to endure them.

I mean, I was numb and unconscious for most of it, but I had a colostomy bag for a year and I'm glad I eventually got rid of that fucker. You don't really "feel" anything beyond dread that if you do something to open the wound, your guts come spilling out.

Fun fact: saturating the air with water actually will assist in reducing the effectiveness of airborne agents. The agent will condense into the falling water droplets. Its kind a similar principle as a Dyson swarm. Its not 100% efficiency but it will capture enough to save lives in a real life scenario.

Alice is literally Batman. There's never an enemy too big for her to take down as long as she has time to prepare. She always has a contingency plan for everything she's most likely to encounter and manages to figure out a way of everything else with her exceptional skill and agility. She sometimes uses fancy gadgets like a grappling hook, HUD glasses, satnav watches, etc. The literal only difference is Alice will kill people and Batman won't. To be honest though, if you consider Umbrella ended the world, and some depictions of Batman will use lethal force when the situation gets dire enough, I don't think she did too bad if their situations were switched.

Yeah, Jill was a member of S.T.A.R.S., she Chris Redfield, Barry Burton, and Rebecca Chambers were attempting to act as whistle blowers to expose Umbrella's bioweapon experimentation. In the game Nemesis targeted the S.T.A.R.S. members because everyone left alive on the team were survivors of the Spencer Mansion incident(also the Starlight Express, but that's not important). In the movie they had no real reason to target all S.T.A.R.S. members, I'm not sure the movie ever mentions exactly why Nemesis is after the group of survivors.

movie nemesis was specifically designed to fight and destroy alice, he was made from the guy that survived with her from the first movie, thats why at the end he helps her. it was very stupid and they should have had nemesis just be nemesis and have him be a problem through multiple movies as a looming threat but idk

Literally have no problem with ANYTHING said about your explanations of entire franchises except OOOOOOONE teeny thing: In "Apocalypse", Alice didn't just wrap herself and Angela in any old blanket. It's a fir blanket. Quite literally to protect oneself from fire. It's actually one of the very FEW things in the franchise that genuinely makes any sense at all, so it stuck out more when you mentioned it. That being said, I'm looking forward to watching you tackle more franchises!

So they had a deaf character and showed her and the main character using actual, accurate ASL? Not only is that unexpected attention to detail, it's also unexpectedly sincere and good representation of a disability for some early 2000s dumb, bad video games that do the bare minimum to count as Resident Evil movies and mostly focus on making the director's actress wife be a sexy badass and do some stunts. To be fair to Omar Epps he does have the best moment in the entire second movie when the probable German gets on the helicopter and tells them to take off and he replaced the pilot at some point and says "I'm more used to a Cadillac" or something. If nothing else that was incredibly well timed.

In the very beginning of the first movie, they said that it switched forms between a gas and a liquid (maybe a solid, don't remember), so it's possible that it did seep into the ground as a liquid and made the buried corpses rise. I guarantee that they wanted a scene like that just to be iconic in their zombie movie. 😂

The elevator sprinkler thing was the AI killing the infected, not a decontamination protocol. She used the sprinklers to fill the room with water and the elevator drop prevented mobility within the facility as well as killing those in the elevator.

I actually really enjoy the analogy of gamers reading manuals = exposition. No one wants it, and it's always more effective if they just make it part of the game. You could even take it a step further and say that tutorial levels are like voice over narration exposition. Takes up extra time and is again less effective than introducing us to the ideas within the story itself.

You forget that Resident Evil is at its core survival horror not an action game and you have to piece everything together because usually you have no idea how events came to pass. Capcom had to learn this lesson the hard way after the games started to lose sales after they became to action oriented.
