The "It's just a dream" thing is actually kind of neat to think about, since with that context the album can still make somewhat of sense even if it's not the context that was intended. A normal, happy dream, with things slowly becoming more 'off' until the stage 4 sections where the events reach uncanny valley levels of dread as it shifts to a flat-out nightmare. Stage 5 is where things become so abstract that the scenery changes every time you look at something for any period of time and everything just defies logic, and stage 6 can be interpreted as sleep paralysis, until your mind briefly falls asleep again (the choir) until you abruptly wake up (minute of silence) as you try to get re-accustomed to your surroundings.

The Stage 3 cover art is titled "Hag." I interpret it as a hagfish and the slime they secrete to deter predators from eating them and possibly escape. So in the context of EATEOT, it is referring to the character trying to grasp on their memories, but the memories cloud themselves and disappear through the confusion.

The album "Take Care, It's a Desert Out There" has been seen by some fans as a theoretical stage 7. This is mostly because it was an album quite literally made to represent kirby's view on death and honor Mark Fisher. It's a very lonely experience, especially considering the almost barren noise that makes up the album, and in theory, how the Caretaker would be in the afterlife having nothing left. Still a lovely video and I enjoy the work you've put in

I think each cover represents your mind looking at objects differently while you have dementia. Stage 1 is clearly a magazine, but stage 5 is what looks like clouds on stairs. Stage 4's cover could also mean how you look at people differently, as your mind progresses.

I don't blame you that a lot of stage 6 is songs that are shown in it are very difficult to listen to. Just speed them up, and you might be able to recognize heartaches in it. Also the Hell sirens can actually be heard pretty clearly, but there is no siren bit, as far as I'm aware, but you can hear that distinct clashing sound during the hell sirens section being played in Stage 5 and Stage 6.

Also, just a little fun fact that I think you might like, the ambient droning win in a tunnel sound and the first track of stage 4, is actually from Selected Memories from Haunted Ballroom track "By the Seaside". Give it a relisten and then listen to stage 4 again and you'll be able to hear that distinction.

18:48 the amnesia period is the discography of The Caretaker from 2005 to 2008. In those years, Kirby made albums incentrated on amnesia (in order, Theoretically Pure Anterograde Amnesia, Deleted Scenes/Forgotten Dreams and Persistent Repetition Of Phrases). In fact, in the storyline of The Caretaker, the character has suffered amnesia in those years (before dementia started to get in). P.s. I'm sorry for my bad English

Great video! I saw you got a little confused by the "Chrono Trigger EATEOT" entry, which was a project I had made in late 2020 where I took Chrono Trigger music and created a new EATEOT using them, similar to the "Minecraft EATEOT" also featured here. And yes, it was inspired by the area "The End of Time" haha. It was super fun to make, but not super good quality wise. So I have since been remastering with help from the creator of the iceberg you featured. The reason you probably didn't find anyone talking about it is for a period of time my channel was deleted, and along with it the original project (and the remastered parts). But since then I've uploaded the completed stages 1-4 of the project, and I thought I'd share that. Again, super good video!

It was an interesting video, although I'd love to reply to each of these entries... Stage 1: It's just a burning memory: pretty straightforward, it's an amazing song and has a very high re-listening factor. In this album, there are three different covers of Heartaches. The most famous one is Al Bowlly's, at the very start, stage 1, and also appearing in stage 3 (E2 - And heart breaks). Another one is Seger Ellis' cover, which famously appears in stage 2 (C3 - What does it matter how my heart breaks) and in Stage 3 (three times, F4 - Burning despair does ache, F5 - Aching cavern without lucidity and F8 - Mournful camaraderie). As for the third cover, being Guy Lombardo's cover, it only appears in the post-awareness stages. Sampling throughout the album: It's very simple to say that, yes, the samples are very well important. They're easy to find in stages 1-3, but then gets more difficult to do so as we enter the post-awareness stages, aside from a few moments when we recognize a melody, such as in G1 Post-Awareness Confusions, where we can hear a bit of Seger Ellis' Heartaches through. Final six minutes: very discussed upon, and it could have several meanings: the character's last moments of clarity before death, terminal lucidity, the passage of the character to the afterlife, or the funeral of said character. Stage 2: Terminal lucidity: Yeah, pretty self-explanatory, and the likely culprit for death is pneumonia or organ failure due to the effects of dementia. The love story: a pretty lovely theory to be honest. Imagine what were the character's greatest moments of their life. The Caretaker is dead: Yep, that moniker is dead. Was it just a dream? : It stems from the first moment of clarity in K1 - Plaque advanced entanglements which uses two samples according to several sample guides. One of them is Dick Powell's Was it Just a Dream? and is one of my favourite moments in the project, as well as my most viewed moment in Stage 5 followed by the piano moment in N1 - Sudden time regression into isolation (Layton and Johnstone's Piano Medley, My Ohio Home). Samples outside of Everywhere at the end of time: Yeah, there are a lot of these samples worth listening to. These are what introduced me to more of Al Bowlly's songs. What is the album cover for stage 3? : Yes, it's named "Hag" as pointed out by @breasTiE last year and it's really hard to tell whether it is a plant or not. Some say it is a deformation of the stage 2 flower pot into a weird tree. The Hell sirens: Yeah, it is really hard to know what it represents, but someone pointed out that it is meant to represent an episode of sundowning, common during the middle and late stages of dementia (and therefore the Hell Sirens also appear not only in section E of H1 - Post-Awareness Confusions but also in stages 5 and 6). The last song symbolizes death: Pretty much what you said. Ivan Seal: He is an amazing artist, it's worth seeing his works. Heck, some of them are used for the Caretaker Discord server. Stage 3: The back of a canvas: To add to this, the blue tapes are probably meant to represent the bounds caused by dementia: that person is unable to express their identity, because their condition restricted all methods of communication at this point in clinical stage 7 patients. Essentially, they look like the borders of a canvas that is nonexistent, as in no state of coherence. Death essentially frees this person from this state, expressing their identity via their belongings that were left behind, as well as their impact on the world around them and their friends and family. Their impact would be everywhere at the end of time. Final song buildup: The organ sound in stage 6 is an unknown sample but recognizable melody, named "A Song of Sunshine" on organ, which is the only component of Section B, starting while Section A-b (which has Stage 3's F3 - Internal bewildered World) fades away. This one represents either a deep state of empty bliss, the actual moment of terminal lucidity, or even the ascension of the patient to heaven (this was very well represented in Context Switch's R1 Place in the World fades away sample guide, which you should check out). How was Post-Awareness Confusions made?: Hmm, mystery, it may have been a program known as Pitchmap that was the magic behind it. It is quite difficult to master this in other programs such as Audacity. 6 month gap: Chronologically and narratively, it makes sense because it shows how far the character has fallen into their condition. An empty bliss beyond this World: I love this album. My favourite track is Libet's delay, using Layton and Johnstone's "Goodnight, my Beautiful" as the sample, also a favourite of mine, with the piano, oh my, so lovely, giving happy vibes, just like Rosy retrospection from the 2006 Persistent repetitions of phrases album. Some of the tracks would fit perfectly in stages 1 through 3. Hell Sirens in stages 5 and 6: Yeah, easier to hear in stage 5, but in stage 6 the crashing sounds are barely audible. Everywhere, an empty bliss: Yeah, they are outtakes and scrapped content that could have made it in the project, but couldn't make it. Notably, it contains wax cylinder recordings as well as other recordings. One of the tracks, And bliss everywhere bliss, is considered to be an alternate ending for Everywhere at the end of time. It has a deeper meaning, it's like it fits more perfectly the theme of terminal lucidity, but it doesn't have that much of an emotional impact as the actual ending to me. Other tracks are very distorted samples that would fit in the post-awareness stages, such as "Advanced plaque camaraderie" and "Hidden minimal sea". Minecraft, but it's Everywhere at the end of time: Yeah, it feels only appropriate to have the genre expanded to Minecraft, especially using C418's tracks. I could think of an updated version that would include Lena Raine's tracks from the Nether Update as well as the Caves and Cliffs Update and the Wild Update. I could imagine the sundowning as an encounter with the Warden in the ancient city ruins in the Deep Dark biome. Warden encounters, for any deep dark explorer, would also be a PTSD moment. Continued in reply...
@alexandrevachon541
@alexandrevachon541 Год назад
Stage 4: Stages 7A and 7B: Chronologically, I could imagine this: Hell → Purgatory → Heaven. Hell has a lot of familiar samples, such as September 1939 from "Selected memories from the haunted ballroom". Selected memories from the Haunted Ballroom: Speaking of the album, there is a strange case: one of the tracks is actually blocked worldwide on RU-vid except in the UK. Whether what was intentionally blocked or not remains to be seen. "This selection will be a mandolin solo by Mr. James Fitzgerald.": This is one of the most intelligible parts of Stage 5, and I like it. It's one of these last moments of safety in an already deteriorated mind. A1 in Stage 6?: I talked about it in one of the sample guides, being O1 - A confusion so thick you forget forgetting. Context Switch figured out that A1 is not present at all in stage 6. What I thought I heard was A1 actually turned out to be "A stairway to the stars" from the earlier album of the same name "A Stairway to the Stars" at 18:14 starting from the beginning of Stage 6. That was a shocking moment, because it sounded a lot like A1. Chrono Trigger but EatEoT: It's probably just a coincidence. EatEoT: Yeah, I agree with that point. How were the Hell Sirens made...?: Yep. The Shining: Ah yes, that film made by Stanley Kubrick which was unfortunately hated by Stephen King (not sure if that's true). It is a very good film. There is definitely a lot of things concerning liminal spaces and forgetting things. Plus it is where Leyland Kirby got his inspiration from for "Selected Memories from the Haunted Ballroom". The film even got a long-awaited sequel, named Doctor Sleep. Stage 5: weirdcore.tv: The videos made for the stages were just fantastic. Pure art at its finest. The buildup is terminal lucidity: I'd say that is up to interpretation, but I also have said that it could also mean the patient's ascension to heaven. The amnesia period: Yeah, that refers to the period after the last album of the haunted ballroom trilogy (being "We'll all go riding on a rainbow") was released that the Caretaker focused on the theme of amnesia. During this period, he made these albums: "Theoretically pure anterograde amnesia", "Additional amnesiac memories", "Deleted scenes / forgotten dreams" and "Persistent repetitions of phrases" (although the latter can also be part of the dementia saga if one thinks about it since one of the tracks is named "Unmasking Alzheimer's"). Everywhere in the Beginning of Nowhere: It's really amazing to give credit to the Carebear for making such an amazing project as a dedication to his deceased grandmother, and he was just 14 when he made it! Such amazing talent. The opening track is also an Al Bowlly sample, and it is, surprise surprise, Midnight, the Stars, and You, also used in The Shining, Selected Memories from the Haunted Ballroom and Doctor Sleep! Take care. It's a desert out there... : Press F to pay respects to Mark Fisher. Also considered to some to be an epilogue to EatEoT, as the desolate empty desert of the afterlife, most probably referring to a purgatory, although that is probably not entirely true, since this is separate from the main EatEoT project. Jordan Keuring: Wow, the ending for this one really stands out. One last rock ballad for the road, and going out with a bang with joy and happiness (heck even tears of joy). Some of my favourite tracks are in there, such as Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Museum edition: I don't seem to find evidence of this, so this is probably just a hoax. Each crackle is a neuron dying: Yeah, I find it fun to think about. Amyloid beta plaques cause the neurons to starve to death by cutting off oxygen flow to it, severing connections and likely destroying memories in the process. I'm not a medical expert, but this is the best I can do to describe that. Stages 2 and 3 have the same art, only more distorted: Unintentional resemblence? Quite uncanny. Stage 6: Nowhere at the Millennium of Space: Yeah, don't know why I'm talking about this again, but it's good. Imagine making an EatEoT styled album with music from all the musical eras, from tribal to modern times, heck including Al Bowlly's Heartaches to keep the heart and soul of the style, with a mix of NatMoS and EitBoN (which together forms with EatEoT, what is considered by some as the holy trinity of the genre) as well as 1980s - 2020s music. Imagine the possibilites! The Carebear: Kudos to him for making EitBoN, out of love for his grandmother. greninja222: Huh, not bad to be honest. The end of E2 is the buildup: Foreshadowing? I think... The meaning of "synapse retrogenesis": It's like your life flashing before your eyes as the memories degrade further before the emptiness of stage 6 begins. Cerebral Atrophy: Never listened to it before, worth checking out. Elusive sunshine: Funny, because in one of the USB thumb drives I have a copy of the CD version's tracks that I've downloaded from the Internet Archive, alongside the entirety of An empty bliss beyond this World and Everywhere at the End of Time. Dead bees: Odd... dead bees on the ground... I wonder what were they doing when they died. Plus the album cover reminds me of the trypophobic Far Lands from Minecraft. Hope this was helpful, and good luck!

Why does this iceberg have six levels that correspond to the six stages of EATEOT? An iceberg would work differently.

7:44 Not this again. You can tell who actually does research or just regurgitates what they hear from other videos. This is NOT the back of a canvas. It is the front of a board on which a canvas would usually sit, the tape making a square to act as a guide for the edges of the painting. Only, here, there is no canvas on the board. The tape guide is there but the painting and even the medium that the painting is supposed to be on, is missing. The idea is that stage 6 has no album art. "Stage 6 is without description." as the album description says, so therein, there is no album cover either. Just a blank slate where album art usually WOULD be.
