eXtremeRate RISE4 Real Metal Buttons RMB Version Installation Guide

If anyone is having issues with the 2 smaller buttons (k3&4) being hard to press or not responsive for the full button. I put 1 of small black stickers on the back of the button on the circle (2 on k3). Competely solved it, much easier click and button clicks when pressed anywhere. 🤝

I know this is about 7 months old and but I just wanted to say you did a very good job with making the video. I work in fixing tech and doing mobo repairs so I never have time to customize my own controllers or what not. But now I’m on vacay and just ordered a LED kit, new triggers, new housing AND this back button metal kit. AND you KNOW I’ll be soldering this stuff too. I like watching the vids JUST in case I screw up so thank you for the guide. Also, talking during these vids are VERY good.

It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable that you guys made such as awesome tutorial, this is a proper tutorial that goes over all the things needed and all that could go wrong. It's also so unbelievable that such a comprehensive kit is so seemingly mass-produced, when it's apparent it's for a very niche group of people. You guys are awesome.

Highly recommend!I am blown away by how easy installing this was and how clean it looks all together. Whole process took me about 40 min (no solder) and the rubber grip is very nice as well. It's not sticky and is still comfortable after a few hours of gaming

Just bought the plastic white a few days ago then replaced it with the RMB and it's even better! I like the added weight and the feel of the buttons great job as always. Now I'm off to mod the dock for the wireless charger

Just installed mine and... you guys rock man. Your products are awesome. The metal version feels so nice, it's just a little bit (the right amount imo) harder to press, and i love it. Good job 👏.

I've recently assembled mine with a combination of Extremerates videos as well as @CraigsChannel ... the fact that you guys are collaborating is just perfect!

I have four of the plastic ones and they’re great. Ive had them for a month and so far no problems. I wish i would’ve known these were coming out because i would’ve waited. Oh well. Ill get them when the plastic ones stop working but i suspect they will last me a long time.

Bringing out the big 💪 guns. Have to say, I’m quite pleased with Rise4 standard. Both in paddle durability and the internal switches(knock on wood). I still think you guys need to make your own type of “grip extenders” like playbudz. The dualsense grip handles are miserably designed with those skinny pointed handle ends.

thx for the video. Very helpful, although my cables looked a bit different eventhough it was BDM 20 hat tobbe careful soldering the touchpad one as my ribbon was taped on it.

Beats spending 100+ on a upgrade controller nice going looking forward to kitting my duelsense out soon

Hello. I bought the Kit with paddles and only the white Board. Do i have to use the white Board or i can still use the black Board from the plastic paddles? Thanks

My Rise4 plastic one is starting to have issues with the K buttons after 1 year. Might end up buying these

can remap the joystick button i hate double clicking the left stick.. also can i separate the press and hold press button like. 🔺 press switch gun 🔺 hold press reload plate - remap to any of KEYMAP/PADDLE examples remap k1 press reload plates so its gonna be 🔺 press switch gun K1 press reload plates i hope you understand 😊

Hi eXtremeRate and Craig, I bought the Rise4 RMB version for the BDM-030 PS5 controller. I can't seem to find an install guide for the BDM-030 on the eXtremeRate website. Is is the same as the BDM-010/020? Any advice would help. Thanks!

Do you lose the functionality of the original thumbstick buttons or the touchpad after soldering?

I’m able to remap the touchpad to the back buttons, because the 3 flashes do come on, but they do not work, any idea?

I did everyrhing well but after 1 week of use it feel like the right paddle is a bit loosen than the left paddle, do I need to tight every screw again?

Hey, I installed mine and everything works great! I just have one small issue with my touchpad no longer being responsive. For reference I did no soldering as I didn’t need to remap touchpad or L3/R3 so I’m not sure what could have gone wrong. Any help is appreciated!

I have a question, going to buy this and install but was thinking if changing battery at the same time. There is a nice battery I would like to put in with a lot of extra juice but it's physical size is a bit bigger than the original: 80 x 40 x 8 mm. Would that make this change to be harder to fit inside? Also I was thinking changing face and buttons to your with led in it, do they work with this mod? Thanks in advance!

Nice! Been waiting for this. Do you know when other colour schemes will be ready? I'd like blue paddles with a blue shell but only see silver paddles with white shells at the moment.

Ive just installed my kit and ive remapped K1 to X and it works fine but i cant get R3 to remap to K2 is there something im doing wrong? there is no error flashing light when i do the test

How much harder is it to press the buttons? I ended up tearing apart my Aim Controller and replacing the back with rise4 cause the aim controllers back buttons were too tough to press

I installed 2 bdm010 kits. First controller works fine but the second one won't turn on even after reinstalling stock components. Any ideas on what it could be?

Hello extremerate I have bought and installed controller clicky hair trigger and Rise4 metal buttons and everything went well, except when I finished installing them and started my controller I start hearing buzzy sounds coming frequently from the controller.. I turned off the adaptive trigger and vibration for the controller but I still can hear that weird buzzing, is there any advices or things I can do to get rade of that? Thanks in advance.

Pretty straightforward. 3rd one ive had to install now (1st, then upgrade to 4 paddles, then kid broke it so now metal) with light, metal paddles and bigger battery, controller is beginning to weigh a bit 😂 feels grest in the hand tho 👍 was slightly sad when i realised the back plate was plastic. I see why but i would of liked metal to assure durability (if there is a next time the kids going to die..)

Hi just installed the purple kit (not metal) today and I’m so impressed with the product. Im just wondering as I see a lot of innovative controllers on your guys page. Is there anyway you could potentially improve the 2 middle buttons ergonomically so that you could use middle finger for the outside buttons and the inside buttons could be kind of hanging in the air and you could click them with your ring finger. Might be hard to envision what I’m saying but maybe this is possible and u could make it an optional upgrade and also sell it separately for people to add on to their existing RISE4. I’d be happy to message with you so I could show u a picture of what I mean. Nonetheless great product!!

Quite expensive at £70 at Amazon UK atm. Hopefully price will come down and other colours like grippy red will pop up really soon!

Why does the kit need soldering to map L3/R3 buttons back buttons, but 2.0 with plastic back buttons dont need soldering

I already have the rise 4 kit installed so is there anyway you'd be able to sell the metal buttons on there own so I can just swap em out?

I really wish the solid white back came with black texture. It would look much better than the gray.

will you consider to make back paddle mods for edge? Sony has only 2 paddles, I prefer 4. Will you design a new mod for it?

I've been a regular customer for your guys, however I think you should look into a button style kit rather than paddles, buttons have superior actuation response and also cleaner profile, such as battlebeaver or HYPR controllers. Some of your other kits for Xbox & DS4 also have this buttons design.

Looking forward to buying one of these! On a slightly unrelated note, do y'all have any recommendations on where to get good replacement potentiometers? I've got a controller that's out of warranty with atrocious drift on both sticks. I've already tried cleaning them to no avail, but I see this as a good opportunity to experiment on the thing with very little to lose. It might be a fun project. I just want to make sure that I'm buying the right ones. You know how amazon can be sometimes...

I bought the remap kit with metal buttons for the dualsense + the trigger kit and the clicky buttons plus seperate d pad. On the same day i also bought the remap kit for the switch pro controller (but that one is just plastick). plus i bought the hair trigger kit for both the dualsense and the switch controller. I just hope you will in the futre sell the same kits for both the swithc and the dualsense.

I have the 2.0 metal 2 button kit, to upgrade to four paddles, do i need to reopen the control or jus the back piece holding the board and swap the board? Is the shell for the board the same? Would hate to have to redo everything to add 2 buttons. Thanks

I have had my RISE4 installed successfully for a few months with no issues. Suddenly last night, the back buttons stopped working. I could turn the controller off and then back on and they'd work for a few minutes and then they would stop again. Anyone ever had this happen? Maybe I need to reset the mapping?
