Four friends driving through the mountains. Can't see anything but snow. More lost with every second that passes. Something's out there, lurking in the fog. Something sinister. There's no turning back now. The only way out is through.

The MCs had peaceful moments. The creature doesn't always attack. Not like it's nonstop attacking and fleeing. There is time. The notes might be important or warnings for others. If there's strange discoveries, I want to note it.

A very good game. The animation comes across as very unique, but not low quality. The music and undecipherable text at the end was a good touch as well. Overall great quality for a free game.

The first rule of any lovecraftian art is that there are no happy endings and all the knowledge main protagonist pursue will be paid for in blood. It is always a jurney without return. Thats why this game is pure cosmic horror by definition. Well played.

I love a game with a good story and an ending that makes "sense" and is satisfying. It was fun but I'm glad it wasn't longer because it would have dragged on too much. Thanks for playing this and sharing it with us.

That was quite a well done little cosmic horror story. Well done to the devs! **Spoiler** Though I will say, despite the 'creature's' intentions, if it impaled my friends on spikes and I had a chance to smash it's head in I would totally do it too. It could have taken a more subtle approach, like simply locking them in a cage or something, but it deserved what it got in the end too imo. :P

What do we know about it? Next to nothing, it could be how that race of creature, either communicates (impaling 3 friends is "Hello"... lol) or it required your friends to be blood sacrifices to keep that Elder God chained. I also think the creature, was acting as the Guardian, and before you killed it, it was trying to have you take its place as "Guardian" aka Prison Warden. Maybe it needed somebody with strong Willpower, and needed to get rid of the other 3 because they where the weakest. You notice it got rid of the friends in the order of the amount they complained.

Omg that was so perfect! The humor with Boyd was hilarious, and each character did have personality that cam through even during the short intro. The ending hit my heart like a hammer and was pitch perfect! Wow i wish there was more like this!

I hope they plan to make more games- either continue this storyline or maybe an anthology of cosmic horrors. At the point of where they saw all the bodies at the cliff, I thought Boyd was going to do something drastic.

I love how simple but effective the "god" design is. Just the upside down cross type pose tells you that thing is bad news.

Great use of very simple graphics. This game, with its static pixelated sprites for characters, manages to be more atmospheric and scary than most of the indie horrors using high-quality store assets.

Very cool, creepy game. The otherworldly place and the creatures kinda reminded me of the Null in Stephen King's novel Revival; a nightmarish place where dead humans are enslaved to the Mother by huge ant-like creatures. I like the idea here that the creatures are trying to stop the character, (and anyone else), from reaching the god.

I love these types of stories. This is cosmic horror done excellently. It presents a mystery that you can't help but dive into even though you shouldn't, even though it will lead to disaster...and it does. I love the bait-and-switch about the "monster." Yes, it was killing anyone who got to close, but it had a reason. I love the images that essentially tell you this. This game gave you enough to understand what was going on. It didn't do the obscure, need to interpret ending (which can be cool, too, but it's not necessary in every situation), but it didn't beat you over the head with it. I love how the aesthetics were perfect for it, too.

Too bad that nobody listened to Boyd, but then again, there won't be a story if they never ventured forth. Seen a gameplay of this a couple of weeks ago and even now as I rewatch this, I still am loving it. I'm currently hesitating to recommend you "The Excavation of Hob's Barrow", because despite the good voice acting and its supernatural imagery, it's about 6 hours worth of play + the start is on the slow side. Perhaps on your downtime, you might want to check it out.

I think a long long time ago, this godly being came to the humanoid creatures' planet and cause chaos like in the pictures. The humanoid creatures then imprisoned the godly thing and sent it away like Chris said. But then it crossed path with Earth and the our story began.

Realy good, captivating story in a nice graphical idea! I didn't expect it to end in an optimistic tone but more apocalypic ending was very right! May the devs leave a long life and their imagination never end so that they could make so even more games like this.

I do like the implications in this game- that the shackled creature is what inspired christian god and the devils were his slaves and food that rebelled and it was influencing humans to unchain it. And I agree with someone in the comment- the devils could have used more subtle approach to stoping people, tho I guess the threat of "god returning" is great enough to do anything

After watching, I can confirm the game was INCREDIBLE. The art style was very nice and alluring, different from most 3d horror games that try to either replicate PS1 graphics or hyper realistic graphics nowadays. I've only seen a few 3d horror games with this 2.5d style, but it sure is refreshing. And that's not even getting into the story. It was a good kind of weird and had a nice creepy atmosphere but wasn't overly gory and didn't have jump scares every 5 seconds. Well done creators!

I'm not a fan of cosmic horror/Lovecraftian style games because they feel so unbelievable - to a point where it's annoying. But I enjoyed the way this was approached. Simple, concise story with a predictable consequence. Doesn't overstay its welcome either. Enjoyed this!
