I'm feeling great! If you've had a hysterectomy, comment below and tell me how many weeks post-op that you felt back to normal...and what made you realize you were healed. I'd love to hear from you! 💗

I don't know if you seen my comment from a few months ago about the baby gate at the top of your stairs. You can get a baby gate that has a door that open and closes. Please stop stepping over that gate. My daughter got hurt very badly stepping over ours. She went to step over and her foot slipped. She landed hard on her straddle. We had to go to the gyno. It was not good. The other gate is more expensive but it's worth the fall risk to spend a few extra dollars. Glad to hear you are feeling so much better.

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy in 2017. I had a vertical incision. I had a huge fibroid so there was no way it could be removed laparoscopically.y surgeon did leave my ovaries so I didn’t go into instant menopause. I wound up being finished with menopause in 2020. No hormone’s taken to date. No side effects, hot flashes etc. it took me a full 4 months to get back to normal. You look like you’re feeling good!

I had a hysterectomy earlier in life in my 40s. I felt better literally the day after my surgery than I had felt for years. I had endometriosis and the scarring looked like a road map on my uterus. Best surgery I have ever had.

I followed your Hysterectomy story and am so happy to hear you are doing well. I had a robot assisted vaginal hysterectomy 13 days ago and have had ,hardly any pain. I was so worried because I'm almost 65. I have been taking it easy because I don't want any setbacks. I took off 8 weeks from my housecleaning business and am hoping I can return to work at that time. You were the only person I could find that was even close to my age online. Thanks for sharing your story!

Hello Renee. I’m 77 and needed a hysterectomy at age 36 which of course is very young but necessary because of excessive heavy bleeding and clotting. My surgeon said I wouldn’t live to reach menopause at that rate, so, bring it on! 😊 fortunately I had 3 lovely children. I wish there was as much information then as you’re giving now. Bless you. It will mean such a lot to many women. You look fantastic. It’s a big event but with your good sense you’ve come through it well. Love from New Zealand xxxxx

My total hysterectomy was 42 years ago - of course that was the long horizontal scar on lower belly . . . that entire scar STILL doesn't like the direct sun - even through my swimming suit - so I always have something laid across my lower belly . . . just one of the things I've learned to live with. SO glad you are feeling back to your normal !!!

Hi Renee. I love your videos. I had a total hysterectomy 2 1/2 months ago for endometrial cancer. I am 67 and this was my first surgery! I got through it great and thank God I need no further treatment, but I’m still experiencing some discomfort in my pelvic area, especially at the end of the day. I realize this is all part of the healing process so I listen to my body and take it easy. Your 3-month video is very inspirational! I know I’ll get there. Although our ages and reasons for the surgery are quite different, a hysterectomy is still a hysterectomy! I wish you all the best and thanks for your helpful and informative videos!

Same reason for me. I'm 2 years post op.. and after a year of no hrt, and a genetic test, they finally allowed me to take estrogen. Thankfully! It took me AGES for me to heal, a lot longer than i thought it would. I found the site hystersisters really helpful esp the forum.

Hi! Thank you so much for these videos. I am 50 and have a hysterectomy scheduled for December 14th. I'm a nervous wreck! I have never been put to sleep, Terrified that I may not wake up is the biggie but also afraid of the feeling of going under and all of the process leading up to that point. I have had a C-section so I am not worried about the pain after the fact just trying to get through it. I am having the same procedure you did and they are taking everything! I really appreciate these videos as they have helped me calm down some and give me hope that down the road I will have a new lease on life.

I'm so glad you're feeling great!! One thing that scared me, though, is watching you step over the gate to go don stairs!! Of course, I fell down our stairs at our house and almost killed myself (literally). So please, please be careful!! You don't want to take an unexpected trip down the stairs like I did--it was no fun, it resulted in a number of surgeries, a traumatic brain injury, and a couple of years (yes, years) of painful and frustrating physical therapy (I'll never be "back" to where I was before the fall, but have gotten a great deal of function back, and most days are good days, but have a few bad ones here and there. The worst is I can no longer drive, but it's not been too much of an issue yet!). It just scared me to see you do that!!! And I loved your little sign in your laundry room--All guests must be approved by the dogs. Do you by chance remember where you got that? I'd love to have one for our house!!

Renee, I'm glad to hear you're feeling much better and almost back to your pre-surgery activity level. Just in time to enjoy the summer! However, I implore you to please, please, PLEASE get a pet barrier with a swing-open gate for the top of your stairs! It's not safe to step over like that; all it would take is for your toe to catch on the gate for just a moment and you'd go tumbling right down the stairs. Just Google "pet gate with door" and you'll see plenty of options.

It all makes sense and it's helpful to anyone going thru any operation to pace themselves and take it one day at a time. Love tha Pollux in the shots. So happy for you Renee! I haven’t had a hysterectomy, but I understand surgeries or even an injury when you can’t do simple tasks for a time. I was in a car accident 14 years ago I broke my left foot and 2 ribs. I’m a mover like yourself and the FRUSTRATION was awful!! When I was fully healed and back to normal it was thrilling lol!! Renee, I’m so glad to hear that your hysterectomy recovery is going so well. It’s still major surgery, but the way they do it now makes things so much easier. My mom had a scar from her navel all the way down her abdomen. I Had a hysterectomy about a year ago. It was almost like the surgery never happened. I knew it had because of the slits on my belly and I knew that I had been put to “sleep”. I did what my surgeon said post-op even though I felt just the same. I asked about hormone replacement and was told I would never notice. Surgeon was right! With regard to prescription drugs, I have found mail order to be much cheaper and easier than having prescriptions filled at my local pharmacy, which I used to do.

Hello to this community of powerful women! First I would like to state….to “God be the Glory for a successful surgery”!! I”m in recovery two weeks post my laparoscopic robotic total hysterectomy. Thank you Renee for your personal feedback on how your surgery went. Keep up the good work in shedding light on important topics. Moreover, my pain has lightened and I would like to share a few products that can help with the healing process. Remember… this may not help everyone. Healing Products includes…surgical scar cream, surgical stomach binder, chicken soup, plenty of fruit. Do lots of walking!!! I hope this information helps someone❤❤❤.

Hi Renee My name is Gina. I have really enjoyed your videos. I am 12 days post op today. I had a radical hysterectomy and 4 lymph nodes removed. I had cancer cells in the uterus but they ended up being type 1 stage 1A so thank God they got it all. I have been walking about 2 miles a day for the past 5 days. I thought this was a great thing. Yesterday I went to the store. I walked at the park for about 40 minutes and then some light house things. Yikes I was so uncomfortable all night last night. Today I’m trying to stay in bed to rest. I have pelvic pressure and just low abdominal pain/discomfort. Ugh. Is it normal???

I had my total hysterectomy 2 years ago. I am back to normal now :) Almost 100% happy with my hrt. I'm on the 0.1 mg twice a week patch. I'm 48. I just still have a sore si joint, so they were wanting to have me try the pills. I'm not sure about the pills over the patch, most of my research says the patch is safer.

I had a total hysterectomy in june this summer... they kept my ovaries. Then they noticed i had cancer in my endometrium and they wanted to get my ovaries out. So now i am almost 2 ½ month past the second surgery when they removed my ovaries. And today i am on day 11 on my HRT (divigel, patches are a problem to get at the moment due to lack of stock). I am still in VERY much discomfort in my belly and yesterday i was so distressed it was stupid. So much pain and discomfort. Over where my uterus was and my left ovary area. I am just getting some good out of my HRT atleast, less flushes and a little more stable in my mental and emotional status. But i am still very much a mess.

I had to take care of a 6 year old and a newborn without my husband's help. And a gall bladder surgery. Plus a C-section later. No help. A neck fusion. Two carpal tunnel surgeries and work on my house two weeks later. Three weeks after full hysterectomy i rearrange my bed. I did it slowly. Thank God no carpet.

Saw a mass in one of me overies. But now I feel like I am always conscious of my bladder. I feel like i have to pee more and feel a little pressure on my rectum. Or is it my imagination?!! Have you had any experience regarding those?

I just had my hysterectomy on May 3rd. I feel pretty good except my energy level is terrible. I get tired very easily. My physician gave me a shot of estrogen on the day of my surgery that lasted for 3 weeks then put me on estradiol pills. I was thinking about switching to the patch. I’ve been watching your hysterectomy videos and I can’t wait to get my energy back.
