The relief of occasionally seeing people say things like this is the only reason I head down into comments on videos like this. Or at least the only reason that doesn't verge on emotional self-harm or masochism.

It's never healthy for an adult to pretend they are something they are not...and trust me,eventually it doesn't just involve themselves every other kind and fiction kin I've known were adamant on others treating them like and referring to them as said character...which can range from being simply annoying to deisturbing. Just one example..A person in a discord group I was in believed they were the real pinkie pie from mlp to the point they kept role-playing as the character even in serious situation,spamming pinkie pie songs and butting in every conversation with poeple they didint or barely knew to tell them they were "the" pinkie. It eventually got so bad he started making alt accounts of other characters and having conversations with himself..and when poeple asked him to stop spamming he'd throw a danm fit calling poeple bigots and calling the mods nasty names,so we had to ban him.

While you have a point for the comfort kins (while they are not the same as otherkin or fictionkin,) sometimes it could impact ones health positively. As most coping kins are created from people with trauma (mostly childhood trauma,) their brain probably hadn’t developed the same as people without the trauma and have a corrupt sense of self identity. So projecting yourself and having a connection to a character so much to where it becomes an extension to your identity helps the people that feel like they need to complete their personality in some way.

Oh, and I "was" always the Red Power Ranger. I even made this little box for "morphin' time" so I could transform, but it had Ryu's picture so I'd transform into Ryu and not the Red Ranger... Haha, it's funny to reminisce about my nerd origins!
