My tree is growing too tall where should I cut i t to get another plant. Some of the leaves are also stiff I try not to over or nder water so I don't know what could cause such problem.

Cut just below a leaf node. Also, is your leaf changing colors? That will give you a hint as to what is going on...

Help! My dawarf fiddle was doing great then all of a sudden multiple leaves have been dropping and falling off. The leaves are honestly crispy and soft but are dropping like flies. I don’t think it’s overwatering but definitely could be underwatering but I am worried about root rot. Do you think this could be a sign of that? If it is just under watering how do I not over do it and accidentally go too far and overwater 😂😅 I don’t wanna loose her! Lol

There is to much to put in just one message so I'd say read my post on how to water houseplants. That should help you understand how to get the right balance. 👍 www.thegirlwithashovel.com/water-your-houseplant/

I’m convinced these plants are not meant to be indoors unless you have a greenhouse or something like that. I can grow everything but I’m giving up on these.

Haha! Yes well everyone has their love hate relationship plant. For me it's spider plants... I'm determined to make my peace with them this year though lol! 🤣

@@thegirlwithashovel My spider plant is one of the few plant that actually thrive in our home. It apparently loves neglect, cold drafts, harsh evening sun and being brushed up against and bumped into on a regular basis; honestly it endures all the things we're taught that indoor plants hate, yet it keeps flowering and giving me little spider babies and just looking damn impressive compared to some of my other plants that I actually try with.🤷‍♀️

Ugh help I think you’ve shown me that I overwatered, all leaves fell off but stalk is firm, do I give up???? Or leave and see
@thegirlwithashovel
@thegirlwithashovel 4 месяца назад
Usually if all the leaves are gone, it will be very unlikely that it will survive. I would go ahead and get a new one. And you can keep the original just to see, but like I said, it's chances are slim. 😮‍💨

Great video. Crisply ticks mark all the problems . Have a small question, If the leaves from the bottom of the plant drops, do they grow again in the bottom or they are gone forever?
@thegirlwithashovel
@thegirlwithashovel 10 месяцев назад
They are gone unless you do something like notching to stimulate growth in another part of the plant. 😊

@@thegirlwithashovel thank you so much for your reply. Whatever I have learnt from the internet, notching always results in branching. Is there a way to grow only leaf , without branching?

My leaves are going yellow but they are also crispy! Is that over or under watering? Also will leave grow back? I currently have an empty stalk!
@thegirlwithashovel
@thegirlwithashovel Год назад
It sounds like underwatering but you'd have to check the soil for moisture to be sure... Then for bare stalks, you need a video on notching. Sorry I don't have a video on that one yet. But search for "notching a fiddle leaf fig" 😊

I have my FLF for about 9 months and I need some help! 1. What size pot should it be in? Idk if mine might be too small? 2. After watering from the top, it was still looking droopy, thin leaves hanging, crispy brown edges...so I tried watering from the bottom and it perked up immediately! But now I see thick yellow crusted over the drainage holes. Is it fungus? What can I do?!
@thegirlwithashovel
@thegirlwithashovel Год назад
It's better to have a pot that's too small than one that's too big. If it's drying out so you need to water it every 24-48 hours, then you might need a larger pot. A whitish crust can be mineral deposits from hard water, or a yellow spotty crust is a common soil fungus. You can treat this with a plant fungicide. Hope this helps! 😊

Thank you, great info! I'm sure this depends on a few things but how often do you water a healthy flf? Also, should I cut off the yellow leaves that haven't fallen yet?

I have a fiddle leaf plant that had 6 plants in the same pot should I separate
@thegirlwithashovel
@thegirlwithashovel Месяц назад
Eventually yes but white they're small you can keep them together to seem more bushy. But in time you will want to separate them. 👍

I've been babying my flf since I got it. This is too much😅😅 but I really love it. I think I need a different pot maybe a self watering planter.
@Mlspky
@Mlspky Год назад
They don’t do well in self watering pots. It’s most likely your soil. It’s too dense. They like fast draining soil like cactus soil. I have eight Fiddles and have them all in Black Gold Cactus Soil and I added two cups orchid mix and handful of pine bark to It for extra drainage. They are doing great. And I water by the cup method. You give them one cup per foot tall. If it’s three feet then give it three cups water. Try this and your plant will do better. . And use a moisture meter each week to determine when it needs watering.

What if your roots are on top if the soil? What do I do
@thegirlwithashovel
@thegirlwithashovel 7 месяцев назад
If it's because the roots don't have enough space in the pot, then you should repot your plant. If it has just gotten bare over time, then add about an inch of soil over the top. :)
