Hey everyone, I'm back and I hope you enjoy the first look at the games magic mechanics.
The magic system revolves around player created spells. These spells are crafted on an Arcane Workbench using a wand, a spell scroll and whatever combination of components the player wants the spell to have.
You can chain whatever combination of spell components you want together and they all behave organically and have emergent effects.
For example, you can combine different damage types like fire and lightning for a more powerful spell, if you get frozen in ice you can set yourself on fire to break free, you can even chain damage and regeneration to hurt then heal your enemies. There are no limited combinations.
You cast a spell using a wand and it will cost a certain amount of mana depending on the components of the spell. As you progress through the game you will unlock more powerful and unique spell components.

As a fan of Spellcrafting in the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, I am _absolutely_ on board with this magic system.

The sound effects! The sparkles! The colors! Everything is so satisfying and cute, just watching the video makes me wish I could play it for myself! The fire spell is also super satisfying to watch- the smoke, sparks, and sound on impact… its all so good! It would be cool if the fire spell when hitting stuff would cause it to get burnt and charred- with black blocks and glowing blocks. Either way it is so cool to witness the development of this! I hope you continue with this :D

Wow! Absolutely incredible. I have good experiencing with programming and have done some work with creating games before, but this was just amazing! Will make sure to keep up with this project. Good luck!

nice one. suggestion:" make the water deeper and add fish (shouldnt be that hard, i heard fish in games are the easiest to implement) + add some particles to fall from the trees(as leaves), and add possibility for a huge tree to spawn which you can physically climb, would be pretty interesting, maybe add a new mob/boss on the top of it! and maybe hide the top layer with clouds, there u can find treasure chests with various potions/wand abilities u cannot craft, and an ultra rare end-game item (1%) chance of it spawning called "broom" which lets u fly like a witch. + make underlings for the boss, but if you want to defeat the boss you have to use the magic wand for the first half of the hp then something like a sword for physical damage, or bow, so you don't have players literally kill bosses as soon as they spawn in the game. + add some different tree/grass/leaves colors and make so the sticks spawn very close to trees instead of randomly, because maybe later if you gonna make new biome/terrains you'll have to change that aspect anyways + some wind particles, frogs in shallow water, fireflies as particles and a difficulty suggestion, maybe implement a damage system that will decrease the entity size with its HP, and the mob becomes faster and harder to hit but dealing less damage? would make the enemies feel less bland i feel, and would add a little touch to the magic wand's usage and another crazy idea, maybe make a "fake" dragon fly up in the air really high and u can sometimes hear him flop its wings, or roar (very rare chance) or sometimes be able to see him through the clouds and then later on in the game you can make a very crazy endboss.

Maybe having the protrusions on the table be inlays instead would be better looking, or make them a different color.

This is awesome! If I'm understanding how it works correctly you can use different crystals in different orders to combine abilities? I love how you give creativity to the player in pretty much every aspect of the game

Yes I'll be completely revamping the game's building system in the near future to be much more flexible and to allow players to express their creativity on much higher level. I'm actually pretty excited about what I have in store.

Nice work man as someone who is making a voxel game in my own engine in Vulkan I'm very interested in the technical side I would love a video explaining your tech. You are using Unreal? Is it a voxel plugin thing? Is the world infinite or finite? et cetera. Thanks

He is using Unreal Engine 4 I think, with some voxel plugin and custom additions onto that plugin. He mentioned it in another comment somewhere

The game looks great, but crafting feels awkward, I would suggest having inventory slots on the workbench, that will spawn objects in the correct places on the workbench when items are dragged onto them
