When he passed at 78 back in 2017 the news media lamented he is a singer of plain spoken country songs! He also had a big following in the British artist community! "Till the Rivers All Run Dry" "It Must be Love" "Amanda" "I Believe in You" "Lord I Hope this Day is Good" "You're My Best Friend" "My Love for You will Never Die".You have to do at least one live performance to capture the way he commanded a stage and the audience by just sitting on a stool and playing his guitar! I saw Don in a concert maybe 25 years ago. He came out, sat on a stool and just played the guitar and sang. No dancing or anything. He was so calm and relaxing!

I’m from Oklahoma and this song played in all of the dance halls back in the 80’s. We would line dance to this song. Great memories.

The best way to describe Don Williams music is just like Home Free, they never disappoint. Everything Don Williams touched you would get that same warm feeling from his buttery voice, that you get from Home Free music. He always leaves you with a smile on your face and always appreciate that you had the opportunity to hear him sing. A super gentleman and a voice you never forget.

Don Williams the man the legend and one of my personal fave country music artists. Sadly no longer with us since his passing on September 8th 2017 but his legend lives on in his music and in the hearts and minds of his many fans worldwide. Such a good song Tulsa Time and such a great opening lyric one of my fave opening lyrics ever I left Oklahoma, driving in a Pontiac, just about to lose my mind. Some of his other greats include Amanda, I Recall A Gypsy Woman, Turn Out The Lights And Love Me Tonight, Ghost Story, I'm Just A Country Boy, You're My Best Friend and Louisiana (Saturday Night) to name but a few from his huge list of hits from over the years. Two more great Don Williams songs I almost forgot are I've Got A Winner In You and Missing You, Missing Me.

In the early 80's one of my best friends, a guitarist, would have a group of friends that were from different bands sit in family's living room and just play and jam to country music and this is one of the songs we did all the time.

He sounded exactly the same in concert as he does in videos and on the radio. Such quality. I saw him in concert just a few years before he passed and he still sounded just as good.

Being a Tulsa boy…..yeah. Tulsa was a music Mecca in the 60’s and 70’s.
