Hagler was my favorite boxer. But I can't say he would beat Floyd. Make the aggressive fighter miss and then pick him apart. That defense is hard to beat unless you can beat it with speed and I don't think Hagler was quicker.
Mayweather, wouldn’t have fought any of these guys, in their prime. He would have waited, until they were past their prime, like he did his whole career.

The shots he nailed Barkley with in both their fights was truly amazing. Those shots would have killed anyone else. But then just think short little fat Robert Duran who got flatten by Hitman, beat Iran and took his title.

I think Corrales was the only scary Undefeated he ever took apart, and Chico was easily knocked down by several guys. Leonard took on Tommy who was terrifying to ALL Welterweights. A future 5 division champ. He WILLED himself to beat Tommy.
Floyd's training regimen is insane... it may be unmatched. He lacks the strength of a lot of the greats, but he has the stamina, the defense and the footwork... and he can take a hit. He treats his body like a machine.

I think Duran beats Floyd clearly. Duran beat a prime Sugar Ray Leonard, who in my opinion is a superior fighter to Floyd. Floyd was more on par with Aaron Pryor and Alexis Arguello.
Everyone assumes a Duran Floyd fight takes place at 147 lbs but the best of both fighters was at 135lbs and Lil Floyd was a monster at 135 lbs. Duran was a monster at 135 lbs. I can see Floyd doing to Duran what Esteban Dejesus did and Floyd had a lot more pop than Esteban had. And look what 130 lb Lil Floyd did to 5' 11" Diego Corrales--absolutely wiped him out. Floyd is a tough fight for any of the fab four of the 1980's and what about Wilfred Benitiz he was a part of that crew.
Floyd is one of the only modern fighters they put in hypothetical fights with greats of all times. They dont do that with roy, pacman, bud, not oscar...just floyd...that 0 creates alotta what ifs...

Floyd is the greatest Olympic style boxer in the modern stages and a great counter puncher but Hagler didn't waste punches and was hellalious body puncher!!!!

Floyd's not beating hagler or duran. Duran had defense and his boxing iq was not from this earth. Marvin was too strong and could fight you southpaw and orthodox. He never stopped moving and his jab was a power jab.

Those oldschool fighters were toughdr than nails. You have to remember they paved the way for style in the ring and marketing themselved by their mouth, plus medical treatment wasnt as good there was less supplements, and this is why i respect my elders before me. If they had everything we had now and fought in our era and we had less and fought in their era both eras would turn out totally different, and thats all sports. If mayweather had to fight in that era he would of been a different fighter, and there wouldnt be no money mayweather because the paydays and marketing was somewhat limited compared to the 90s. Mayweather is a great fighter but that man cant give none of the top legends props. He wants to talk about himself as being the best in his era, but when he mentions other eras he picks legends but he doesnt pick the most popular fighters of those eras.

I love Shane, he is from my hometown. Floyd fought everyone too early or too late, but you cant deny his defense and speed. Hagler in my opinion would beat Floyd, maybe Hearns too. All I know is that era of boxing in that division was amazing. Hard to compare eras. Shane kills Floyd in his prime at least thats the way I see it. Mayweather was Hit flush by Pacquiao, De La Hoya, Mosley, Canelo, Maidana, Cotto, Corrales and never went down. These were all monster punchers. Mayweather had a chin. Nobody ever talks about that. He is the best all around fighter that probably ever lace them up.
The only way Floyd could beat Hearns is to slug it out with him. Nobody could outbox Hearns in his prime. And I don't think the 147lb Money Mayweather version of Floyd has the Power to slug with Hearns.

You dont know how great wilford benetiez was. Ray was done when he fought norris and norris would give floyd major problems. Midana and castillo gave foyd problems and terry norris would kill them. Hearns had a great chin. When he got knocked out he was fatigued and his legs were gone. Having a glass jaw means you can't take a punch. Watch the bombs Hagler landed on him on the first two rounds. Leonard knocked him out in the 14th round. Again no legs. With Hearns it was more of a stamina issue then not having a chin.

Out of the 4 kings, I would probably rank Tommy Hearns 3rd or 4th, either slightly ahead or behind Duran, but what's crazy is that, I think he absolutely would have been the worst matchup for Mayweather out of the other 3 (And the other 3 would have had a solid chance as well). Welterweight Hearns would have been a straight problem for Floyd. Taller, bigger, much longer reach, and even though he was known for one of the most vicious right hands in boxing history, he was a world class BOXER, under the teaching of the late great Manny Steward. All of Hearns losses IN HIS PRIME were to brawlers and KO type punchers (Hagler, Iran Barkley, Leonard) Floyd as a Welterweight was NEVER a KO puncher and his style was the furthest thing from a brawler. Hearns actually had perhaps his best victories against technical boxers (Wilfred Benitez, Virgil Hill).

SRL a very humble guy when he got older. Floyd got worked by Luis Castillo who SRL would have knocked out, SRL was x10 more dominant vs x10 more dangerous opponents. I think SRL was on another level than Floyd and it shows by their resume and how he won

Which was only a weakness because SRL is THAT good not because every single fighter could’ve done it. SRL had quicker feet and better footwork. He used lateral movement, which was the same tactic he used against Duran in the second fight. Duran was a tremendous inside fighter but was never great at cutting off the ring. Duran shined when his opponents were either flat footed, caught against the ropes, or pressure fighters looking to cut off the ring themselves. It played right into what he wanted. Hagler was a complete fighter. Just like SRL and Floyd. Except Hagler had a frame and size/muscle AND an engine to go with it all. I don’t think he’s more skilled than Floyd at all. I just done see how Floyd overcomes that size difference.

I love sugar ray to death but I just watched that 1st and 2nd fight.. he only beat tommy hearns that first fight because Hearns gassed out. But he was winning the fight easily. And the second fight wasn’t a draw Hearns really won that fight. I gotta go and watch the 3rd fight.
None of those fighters had a bag as deep as Floyd’s. Floyd adjusted to every style flawlessly. The fight only looked tough if he wanted it to. Skill wise nobody is close to Floyd. He beat bigger, stronger, faster, more aggressive fighters. He adjusted to them all

He would have been competitive like his Dad was with Sugar Ray. But Ray takes the decision. Hearn’s style, physical dimensions and skill set are all wrong for Floyd. Thats Floyd’s kryptonite stylistically. Hearns ko’s Floyd mid rds. Haglers mauls and destroys floyd. Floyd unlike other great welterweights of the past didn’t challenges the reigning middleweight champ. Too much of a physical mismatch for floyd. Duran of 79 or 80 is a competitive decision loss for floyd or a late rd ko. Floyd is a great defensive fighter but the 4 kings were all wrong for him. Ray and Duran cause of their styles Floyd would be competitive and maybe pull off the upset if they had an off night. Hearns is a guaranteed ko loss for floyd unless he just runs like hell all night. And Hagler was a all time great middleweight. He would have been too much for little floyd. Floyd maxed out as a undersized 154’er.

These predictions are tough, because Floyd's fight IQ and skills are of the highest level. Hearns is the biggest problem for Floyd, because he has a much more powerful offence and is much taller, with an educated jab. Leonard is a problem as well, but Floyd could find some ways to solve "Sugar". Hagler is too big/solid for Floyd and on the same championship level. Duran is a bit of a 50/50 for me. But I may lean towards Mayweather on that one.
Hearns would be a TERRIBLE matchup for Floyd. Tommy wasn't faster than Ray but he was just as quick. That's why Ray had to FIGHT Tommy. He couldn't get pass Tommy jab. Floyd didn't have the power Ray had. So he couldn't keep Tommy off him. Tommy would hurt Floyd.
I think Floyd is too big for Duran. Hagler is too big for Floyd. Hearns is also too big for Floyd. Ray vs Floyd is a dream match, watching Ray beat Floyd Sr makes me wish that was a fight we could see. I agree Ray probably wins.
