I like going back and watching old videos of channels i watch. You have grown so much in your ability to make videos. Your content and personality have always been great!

Just picked up two Edges on clearance, and have been watching your related videos. Hope you'll do a follow-up on the "rescue" as things settle in.

That was Green Hair Algae. Assuming the lights are on a timer, you can reduce the photoperiod by 25%-50% to combat the algae. Remove the plants, wood, and rocks and rinse with a 50/50 solution of 0.3% hydrogen peroxide, and or dose a liquid carbon such as Seachem Flourish Excel (this helps plants to out compete algae for nutrients). Lastly, being as the tank is so small, you could easily do a 3 day blackout.

I have the larger Edge tank and love it, but it is prone to algae growth and the filter that comes with it is a joke. I upgraded the filter and installed a UV sterilizer to help cut down on the algae and so far it is working. I have a 30 gallon tank that I have a G3 filter on and it has a hood integrated filter as well. The trough for it where the filter cartridge goes into I plan on putting plants in it to use them for an aquaponics filter and I will keep the bio wheel functional.

I used to get that green hair algae all,the time. Realized I didn't have enough co2 and nutrients. Started EI dosing and so far so good

Right on man I love your videos and I have not seen count chockula or frankenberry cerial in a very long time. I have anubias in my twenty gallon very low light I destroyed it when I put it in high light I have managed to save it but all I have left is a tiny sprig with two tiny leaves but its growing out now it has four leaves now and grows slow. No algae now tho I have done poorly with this plant have you ever had it in with co2?

could you use a wire brush on the DW to kind of get the algae thats hard to get off, off?

How about you setup a pico reef tank? Theyre really not as hard to maintain as some people make out. Maybe you could just stock it with zoansthuds:pulsing xenia and just some anemone shrimp?

hey Pecktec, I don't get it ... right under the tank is quite strong water flow... why would algae grow on plants that are directly below the water flow?
