In this video I transfer the contents of my old aquarium to the new one. I show you every step along the way. Because the plants I pulled out were petty large there wasn't much aquascaping to do. I added two small plants latter on that were having a hard time in the other tanks to see how the do in here. The time span from the last video to the end of this one was around one month. This is not a review. I have some opinions about this tank already but I'll withhold them till I have tried it for a few months. Crappy music composed by me with Garage Band. If you make music and would like it featured in a montage let me know.

Time sure flies by so fast. I bought this Aqurium after I watched this, and then I wanted to subscribe. I could not without an account. I did not want to miss the next video. So I created one just to follow you at first. How crazy is that, 9 years! 😄🙏

I do like it. I cant say it helps cycle much faster but I do like the look of it and the plants are doing well.

i really love all your aquariums. i definitely want to do live plants, i enjoy the look of the natural habitat. i have an 80g bow front acrylic that i am going to slowly move from the ugly rocks and fake crud to natural plants. the angels will love it im sure. especially if i get some amazon plants for them i bet. thank you for making these videos!

Ive just bought and set up a Fluval,my first foray into having an aquarium and loved the shape of this and the modernity of it.Have to wait for the water to clear in a few days before I can go ahead and add fish,but really looking forward to that,its a stylish piece of kit,thx for your input on here

Well, you would remove invertebrates from the plants/roots before the bath and dip. I meant small snail plagues like pond snails or trumpet snails that reproduce like rabbits not the large snails like nerites which are useful to any aquarium community.

one thing to note is that if you had any snail plagues or parasites, you just transferred them into the new tank. I did a similar transfer to yours but took the extra step to dip plants and roots in potassium permanganate followed by an alum bath. I did not use water from another tank, however I did use the bio ceramic media from my other tank after rinsing. Four months later, my new tank still has no snails!

Its a standard 55 gal marineland. Got it for my birthday. Its grown in small ways over the years so its hard to put a number on it. Plus my wife reads these and would KILL me if she knew. :)

I use some liquid plant food. But I don't use co2. My plants don't really need it.

I have both the Fluval M50 and M100, and both can be fully submersed. There's no clips on the M50. Just 2 suction cups.

got put together a Fluval Edge 12G and my sword plants are starting to turn clear and look sickly. do you know what I should do? do I need CO2?

NO that particular heater is a clip on and should not be submerged. You will need one that is completely submersible. Most are these days. Although they still make them those are pretty old technology.

The thing is with most of those dips your dooming any invertebrates from living in there and I keep shrimp in all my aquariums. I even added an assassin snail (not that I ever see them eat one) so that wouldn’t work for me. Some snails are an important part of the process so I don't mind them and control population by not over feeding.

I haven't seen the fluval Roma here yet. They look really cool though. I guess it depends on if you like the wacky shape of the edge.

Hi fishy folks. Thank you for all the tips. I am new to this and I'm learning as I go. Currently I have the 6 gal. Fluval chi. I have two angels and two small catfish. My angels are getting big. I would like to upgrade to a Fluval 12 gal. Is this a suitable tank for the angels. I was worried about the enclosed top. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Cherie Daley Much to small for Angles I'm afraid those are some big fish. 40 of 50 gallons would be more appropriate.

+Cherie Daley Angels need a 29 gal+ I don't know if petsmart is available to you, because I don't know what country you are in, but they have great starter kits there. They actual have a starter kit that comes with... -29 gal aquarium -Hood with LED lights -Filter -100 watt heater -Net -Thermometer and a water testing vial with instructions. Now, usually this would cost about 300 dollars there, but it only cost 135.99 canadian. Hpe this helps :D
