Love it. Might I suggest ditching the kitty 😺 litter which is heavy (especially when wet) in favor of paper(not pine, etc.) litter? It is lightweight, stays compressed when you open the bag. Just brake off a chunk and brake it apart then sprinkle it on the bottom of the bucket 🪣 b4 use and cover with another chunk after number 2. It is more absorbent than the pine lightweight even when wet, and it's up 2u if you want 2 dump it after each use or not. They also sell the powder that brakes down solid waste and turns liquid to a gel....but honestly, the paper shavings work great. 😊
Love love love. The only thing I think I would do differently is put the stove drawer against the partition wall so it doesn’t block the walk area and the sink on the far left so it doesn’t divide counter space. That make a workable L for the way I cook, but I know others may cook differently.
Hey Arica! I'd love to know more about how your friend finished the wood covering the metal around the edges of of the back and side doors. It makes for a really neat looking job, especially at the back door. Do you have any footage of that? I watched your montage of the build and there's just a few shots of him working on it. I'd be interested in how they are mounted, and any hot tips! Thanks for your contributions to the community! You give off great vibes!!!!!
Thanks for the comment and good vibes! The small pieces of wood near the back door were just glued on. They are small and light so they were easy to put up. The planks along the wall are of course attached to furring strips. Alex spent SO much time on that back area with all of the custom cuts and sizes but yes I agree that it looks great. 😊
Hi Arica! I love how your dementia fridge blends in with the other drawers! And the modest bathroom is purrfect. ฅ ̳͒•ˑ̫• ̳͒ฅ. Thank you so much for sharing all you're creative ideas!
Hi! No plans as we built the van out and made decisions as we went along. But if you have any questions about measurements or dimensions of different areas - I’m happy to answer them! Good luck with your van!
My transit had been wonderful! I bought it as a 2019 with 12k miles on it from a dealership. I also added on a 5 year warranty. I’ve just been doing my regular oil changes and everything has been perfect so far. 👍
I’m about 5’5, do you think this would be enough space for my height? I’ve been contemplating whether i should get the medium or high roof. Specially after all the insulations on the deck and roof.
I bought my van as an empty cargo van for $28k from a dealership. It's a 2019 and had 12k miles and I added on a 5 year warranty. The build cost $22,000 (half for materials and half for labor). So the van + build = $50k total.
Friends who are 5’8” can stand comfortably in my van. With that said, my carpenter friend has the same size van with medium roof and I think he’s around 5’10” or so and he can stand up in his van because he put up the wood to match the contouring on the ceiling (as opposed to putting the planks in straight across like we did on my build). So the medium roof will be great for you!
