Many Protestants can't understand how Catholics believe what they believe about Mary. Over and over again, the Marian beliefs taught in Roman Catholicism are challenged and ridiculed as "unbiblical" "idolatrous", and "heretical". How do converts overcome these objections? In this video, former Protestant Pastor Keith Nester explains how he overcame his problems with what Catholics believe about Mary. I just recently began to realized why Catholics love Mother Mary so much. For the longest time I rejected her and didn’t think she needed any more attention because it took away from attention toward Jesus but lately I’ve just somehow developed a new appreciation for her and almost like developed a relationship with her and it has brought me even closer to Jesus and I understand it so much now. I like the verse in John that you pointed out. I had never thought about it that much or looked deeper into that particular verse! I just started RCIA at my local church and I’m so excited to keep going! Thank you for your videos! God bless!

Recently, a Protestant who is planning to become Catholic said that he had "no feelings" for Mary and asked if this was a barrier to his becoming Catholic. I told him what I'd heard another person advise someone. Pray: "Dear Jesus, I know that you love your mother Mary more than any son has ever loved his mother. Please teach me about Mary so that, if it is Your will, I may love her as You do. Amen." I think anyone who wants to develop more understanding of Mary can pray this pray and achieve progress in their faith.

On account of this I’m publishing a weekly RU-vid video on episodes from the life of Don Bosco, entitled ST JOHN BOSCO by JOE ZAMMIT. In this series I’m narrating events and miracles from the splendid life of Don Bosco. St John Bosco used to perform a miracle almost every day, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. From the lives of saints we can learn how to love God more and draw closer to him. Thank you

you can remain protestant . But honor Mary. because JESUS like when we honor his "chosen one" . Just like we honor a pastor, priest, but even more for her mother, she has suffered alot during the live of JESUS, people was mocking JESUS saying he is a son of carpenter denied that he is the Messiah, same with her mother. There is some books revealing the details of the HOLY FAMILY. Look it up. All of the disciples of Jesus ran away from Him during His Passion, but there was one disciple that didn’t abandon Him - the disciple John. But in this scene John was not alone in that journey, in fact he could have not done it by himself being present at the foot of the cross. He was with our Blessed Mother. If you look at the accounts in the garden, when all the disciples ran away, John too ran away, but he went straight to the Blessed Mother. and because of her, he was able to see Jesus and stayed close to him in His passion, all the way to the crucifixion. Why? Because he stayed close to our Blessed Mother! The other disciples ran away - they all went on their way, but John. There were two people that took Mary into their own home. First was of course Saint Joseph, the other was Saint John. But notice in the first scene, the Angel told Joseph not to be afraid to take Mary into his own home. Likewise with John, where he took Mary into his own home. If the Angel told Saint Joseph “not to be afraid” to take Mary into his own home, then why couldn’t we do the same????? If Jesus, the 2nd Person of the Blessed Trinity, submitted Himself to the care of Mary, completely dependent on Her for 9 months in her womb, and then for the next 30 years became obedient to her, why can’t we? Our Blessed Lord is the epitome of that humility.... and we are only imitating Jesus as Saint Louis De Montfort said in his book True Devotion to Mary.

When you made this video I was agnostic. But in the summer of 2020 (when I was 41 years old) a close friend friend from high school took his life. I hadn’t seen him in maybe 18 years, but it broke my heart. It was, in short, absolutely devastating. After a few weeks of immense hurt, I literally woke-up one morning, and Mary was just “there”, in my mind. I had no visions of her, no verbal messages... but she was just there, every moment, for months. I am a mother and my two little boys at the time were 4 and 1 - I started to “feel” everything from Jesus’ life from Mary’s perspective. My heart just kept breaking and hurting for her. Every day I cried. I eventually met with a Deacon at our local Catholic Church, he assured me that “everything Mary does is to bring you to her son”. My sons were Baptized a month after this all started and I signed up for RCIA. About three months after Mary came to me (converted me!), I woke up one morning (again, it was this suddenly) - and Our Blessed Mother has succeeded to bring me to the feet of her son on the cross. I love our Blessed Mother so much - without her I don’t know if I ever would have given my life to Jesus. And Jesus has changed me in just about every way. The Archangel Gabriel said it: “Hail, full of grace”.

God Bless you Keith!! What beautiful truths you have shared with the world. I used to have a prideful intellectual objection to belief in the Immaculate Conception of Mary. That is until I prayed for our Blessed Mother's intercession for a job, a place to live and a reasonably priced car, three immediate needs I was fairly desperate for at one point in my life. I had not prayed the rosary in years, but I picked up those beads. All three needs were fulfilled within a week of each other, and all within a week of the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Pow! My intellectual objection vanished, my trust in her intercession became profound and my relationship with her has continued to grow throughouit my life, and she has continued to request of her Son and provide miracle after miracle for me and my family. She is indeed our mother as well and brings us to her Son. I cannot encourage my Christian brothers and sisters enough to trust in her intercession and develop a relationship with her as she will increase your relationship with God Himself. Remember, if it were not for Mary's YES to God to be His human cooperator, there would be no Incarnation. No Mary, no Jesus. This is why we respect Mary so highly. Finally, Mary continues to draw the world to her Son through her appearances throughout the ages. She is the Matriarch of her son's church, protecting it, preserving its truths and keeping it on the path to the New Jerusalem. It is because of her that the powers of the netherworld will not prevail against it. She is the new Eve whose foot crushes the head of the serpent. Amen!

I’ve been a lifelong Catholic with strong Marian devotion. I married into a super duper Protestant family that tries to tell me I’m practicing idolatry by praying the rosary. A few days ago I was praying to God to show me a Bible verse to back up my love for Mary. I immediately opened to John 19:26-27. I had a plaque made with this verse for my home. This video is SUCH a confirmation for me to help teach others to love Mary too!

I’m a lifelong Catholic, who has gone through more than one transformative experience. As such, I call myself a lifelong convert. I had trouble with Marian doctrine for years, but I kept on praying, asking for her assistance. Early last year I dug deeply into the scriptures, and what God intended her role to be. I fell in love with Our Lady! The closer I get to her, the closer she brings me to her Son. The closer I get to Him, the more deeply I love the Blessed Virgin! It’s symbiotic, not exclusionary! She’s absolutely beautiful, because the Lord filled her with grace, from when she was conceived. She, the New Eve, held Jesus in her womb, and in her arms, so that we could hold Him in our hearts!

You say you dug into scripture. What did you find concerning Mary? As a Christian & I use that term as I am not a catholic nor a protestant. The Christian believers were way before the Reformation & the beginning of the RCC. RCC history likes to leave the part out where the diciples had went out into the world spreading the gospel & new churches began. Our history & all of our belief is directly from the Apostles no "other writings". If there were other writing GOD would have breathed that into HIS Word to us so we could confirm that. Many catholic converts claim they were raised protestant before they converted. Raised not read. Traditions change from year to year or grow & morph. Human behavior is to follow other humans and so tradition feels right. So called church fathers have developed many traditions but picking & choosing which was right & which was wrong is where trouble starts. The RCC has developed many many traditions over it's history, a history that I find evil from its start up to today. What was the true foundation of adding Mary into your worship? I know, y'all claim you don't worship her and have learned to debate that. Why was it not practiced, included or discussed in GOD's Word? Well, right here you must revert to RCC teaching rather than GOD's teaching and refer to me as an evangelical because I read, study & believe "soley" on the Word of God. You as a worshipper of the RCC which you claim is GOD'S only church, the church Christ built on Peter. We know this cannot be true because Jesus built his church on that confession of Jesus Christ in Matthew 16 not into the RCC. The RCC had many sexual immoral Pope's, the very same ones that were the vicar of Christ & spike for GOD who created doctrines & rituals. The very same men who sent out armies to massacre millions of true believers thru out the world. Those very same ones that came to Christ by the diciples that went out into the world. Their crimes were the original PROTEST against the Pope that started when Emperor Constantine made the new religion's Pope the Roman Christian Emperor. All thru history right up to today there has been nothing but evil coming out of this Roman pile of evil. The celibacy of clergy that has always been responsible for homosexuality, pedifilia that still goes on but is kept covered up. Your pope today. NOW, you claim this is GOD's and Jesus Christ built it on Peter of whom can not even be traced to Rome. I would submitt with all praying as a full tolerating member in agreement with this evil that you hear another spirit. To bring in Mary and make the claims you do is to take away from the GOD HEAD. I've been around the world and seen the worship of Mary that y'all down play, the mediation in your prayers because Mary is a woman, a mother & praying to her as mediator feels more right & comfortable. You may not see the intensity of worship to her & her statues in this country as others but it is there. Us so called "protestants" that were here before the RCC have the Word that is true & alive. Marianism is not in it & we believe Mary was as much flesh as you and I so that Jesus Christ would have that attribute. I know she was greatly humbled as so many prophets, apostles & saints were, key word: WERE.

Beautiful testimony. However, I wouldn't say the teachings about Our Lady are not in the Bible. It is more like they are 'hidden'. Everything is there, but not explicitly. It is as if God reserved some Truths to only be discernible by a few. Those truly inspired by the Spirit. This is why Tradition is so important. Because it represents a corpus of inspired interpretation of Scripture.

I was a cradle catholic & left the Catholic church for Protestantism and became a lukewarm “protestant” for about 8 years. Last year I felt the rug of my faith being tugged out from under me, and i began to fear that I was losing faith in Jesus. I was scared. I cried to God for help. He in turn led me to the blessed Mother, who began to stir in me such love and compassion and peace and in doing so led me to her Son, and now i feel such a deep assurance in who my Lord is that i’ve never felt before especially not in Protestantism. With little desires here and there to pray the Rosary, i am now fully committed to return in home to the One True Church, and i am leaving Protestantism. I’m not gonna lie i’m sad, i love the church i’m apart of right now especially the people. But they don’t have the Real Presence. I crave the Real Presence. I love you Jesus, Mary, and all the angels and saints who have paved the way for us Catholics returning home at last. God bless you all.

Hi Keith, I, too, converted to Catholicism this past April 2019 after being a protestant for 15+ years. Mary was a big obstacle for me as well until I started doing my research and reading the bible in its historical context - which is SO important because if we look at scripture through the lens of that time, we will understand that back in that time, the queens of the kingdoms were not the wives of the kings, the queens were the mothers of the kings. Jesus is the King of Kings - which makes Mary our blessed Mother and - yes- our Heavenly Queen 🤗❤ Also, in that time, when the husband died, the responsibility to care for the mother would be passed onto the oldest son. If the oldest son died, the responsibility would then pass on to the 2nd oldest son and so on. It would have been unheard of and even a disgrace to give one's own mother away to someone else if she had another son who could care for her. At the time of Jesus' death, St. Joseph had already passed, and since our blessed Mother had no other children, Jesus tells us all "Behold your mother." Jesus didn't say "John" he said "to the disciple he loved." Jesus loves all of his disciples. Therefore, who should look upon Mary as his mother? All of us who are beloved disciples of Christ. Keep up the great work, Keith! Praying for you!

Know that confusion and scattering is not from God and the enemy is always trying to separate you from the good of what God wants for you. God is about relationships, communion, covenants, love. Give the concerns and doubts to the Lord, and Mary if you are willing to try (not sure where on the journey you’re on) place it all in His hands and just trust that He will lead you. Once you give it to Him, that’s it, you must let go and trust. Always go back to trust and the Truth when doubt creeps in. Trust and know that God loves you, more than you can comprehend, and only wants what is best for you and He will Shepherd you if you will only let Him by full trust. Ask also that He fill your heart with His love for you. He’s always giving us graces, we have to clear ourselves enough by letting go and trusting Him so that His grace will flow through us. Then just “do whatever He tells you.” -Mary to the servants at the wedding at Cana! ❤All Mary wants is for you to have full union with her Son, our Lord and Savior of our lives! He is our end goal and this is only our journey to be with Him, face to face and in fully unity ( which is the fullness of Love since God is Love and only Love will remain) for eternity! So amazing actually!

@@ryanalving3785 I don't know the details of your religious background and personal life. I will answer with the best of my knowledge. First of all, It's not wrong at all to pray to the Virgin Mary. She's the Mother of God. She was born without sin. Jesus couldn't come into this world through a sinner because He is God Himself. Mary's intercession is very powerful. She's our queen, and the Bible teaches that our king, Jesus, won’t refuse her. If you need help your request will be more powerful if the Mother of God intercedes for you. But...your Faith in Her and God must be strong. If you have any doubts in your mind it might not work completely or might not work at all. I grew up Catholic but I myself didn't know why we prayed to Mary. When I was born again last month, I started going to an evangelical church and my views changed about Mary and the Saints. I thought it was idolatrous and even now, I'm overcoming that thought. So thank you so much for this, because I'm coming back to my Catholic faith. The evangelical church was fine, but the worship was not as satisfying as taking the Eucharist and the Mass. I prayed to God a lot if it's alright for me to pray to the saints and Mary. He told me to try and see, and I did, and I'm starting to pray the rosary everyday. I felt no conviction from the Holy Spirirt, and while I pray the rosary I realized mindset was important especially meditating on the Mysteries.

My grandmother introduced me to Mama Mary when I was around 10.Every month of May we do the rosary everyday with other kids in the small chapel until I was the one teaching kids to pray it.I dont understand things yet at those times but looking back now all I can say is that She brought me to love Jesus more,I learned to also make a diary dedicated to God telling Him about what my day was and how I feel.My life wasnt that easy nor too hard but those years looking back I was blessed with a good family despite financial struggles, opportunities coming to me without noticing it and with that I can say is she never really take away that right to our Lord.Growing up I forgot all about the rosary due to lifes constant pressures yet I always carry one with me wherever I go.It is like my protection and my guide. In this dark times of my life it came to my mind about the rosary,I carry it with me yet never say it for so many years nor write to the Lord like I use to before.I committed so many sins that it feels like He dont deserve a daughter like me anymore but He loves me and I know He only wants me to be the person He wants me to be.So now I wanted to start praying the rosary again hoping to change my life and follow His will.Anything impossible to us is possible to Him.

As a former baptist who is now orthodox and catholic .. i go to mass in both :)... i can't thank you enough for your chanel . I have gone from a Christian obsessed with memorizing bible verses and trying to analyse every verse like im going to be tested or something.. to living the bible. Somehow through the Eucharist, i no longer have to put so much effort to feel love for others and to accept everyone . Forgiveness is so much easier now. Ego is so much less . My journey is long but i can honestly say that I'm finally walking in Yeshua's Road and not my Own.

Thank you so much for your effort in creating these videos and sharing your faith. Even though I’m a cradle Catholic, or maybe even because of it I am so encouraged by hearing from those who are seeing the Church from a fresh perspective. Steve Ray said once that new Catholics are the reinforcements for those of us who may have received this gift from birth but perhaps have not appreciated it as we should or feel alone or weary.

If Mary had other children, why didn’t they take care of Mary after Christ was crucified? Jesus gave her to John for both the reasons to be the mother of the church and because she was all alone without immediate family (husband or children

Jesus called some people "brothers" who accompanied Mary which doesn't have to mean they were literally His brothers. They might have been cousins or simply members of the same community. Anyway, Jesus called every believer a brother. Protestants have a tendency to jump into conclusions without reading deeper into verses, which they call overinterpretation and heresy.

Thank you, Keith, for showing me the way to share my faith, and to answer questions that I was posed long ago. Growing up Catholic, I supposed that everyone who was Christian knew of and believed in the saints and understood the role of the Virgin Mary, as both a loving nurturer and ardent soldier for Christ Jesus. Thank you for helping me form the thoughts and words that both explain and defend my faith!

The Blessed Mother was a big prt of my first believing the Church’s teachings to be true. First learning she is the new Eve, a thought that never occurred to me, but once presented, was so natural and necessary it made me wonder how I had never yhought of it before. I then began to learn all I could, and the more I learned, the more sure I was of how good and right it was to have a Mother in her. Praying the Rosary daily transformed my life so very much, erasing all fear of demons and drawinf me closer to closer to Jesus, through His Mother. How awesome and mighty is our God, to do so much through so humble a person.

An excellent video, Pastor Keith! I'm writing an article about Mary and doing research into the Rosary and Catholic devotion to Mary, and all that, and frankly, your videos are much better than those put out by the lifelong Catholics, who seem to be stuck in their Catholic bubble, or too lost in their Catholic nerdiness, unable to see the forest for the trees. Your videos were very helpful and heartfelt. Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for this video!! Like for many others, Mary has been a big obstacle for me in researching the faith. However, I have had similar small breakthroughs where I’ve been graced to see the gift that she is...I actually started RCIA today! However, my mom came with me (I’m a senior in high school and she wants to be with me even though she’s against my converting). The emphasis on Mary is very troubling for her, and there was a statue of Mary in the room. She became very, very upset for the rest of the class and mass. Please pray for her and my family; I hate to feel like I’m pulling us apart, but where else can I go?

Great Video, you're genuine caring, that cones across. I wish you success as a Catholic Speaker, I'm sure you'll be at Steubenville sooner than later! The whole 'Brothers' thing is worked around between Jn 19:25, Mt 27:59-61, Mt 27:55-56, Mt 13:55-57, put all those together and it will be clear. About Mary being Mother, aren't we all part of the One Body of Christ (to many references to quote here)? And who is the Mother of Christ's Body? The Blessed Mother! Great job, Keith thank you so much and Welcome Home! Do you know Marcus Grodi on EWTN? Hes your guy, you should get on the show.

Yeah, it's pretty clear (when you spend time reading all the verses instead of remembering a few) that at least two of the supposed 'brothers' (James and Joses) were actually children of 'the other Mary' and Clopas.

Yes sir Keith, a deep biblical reflection of our Blessed Mama Mary strikes one's emotions. Just as we honor our own biological mothers who have carried us in their womb for many months, the pain they went through in bringing us to this world and the loving care they did for us as we learn to stand on our own two feet, our Blessed mother did the same for our Lord. She was still there at the foot of the Cross; grieving for the Son so loved. And we honor her so much coz of her role in the Body, as Mother of our Church, with Christ as the Head. God bless.

Im christian protestant that has been years struggle with demonic voices attacking me. My christian protestant mentor told me to pray, pray in tongues and pray entering to God's altar, watch alot of preacher. I try and try like her but the wall protection feels so thin. So most of the time the voices bombarded me, making me feels like giving up. I pray to Jesus ask Him what weapon should i use, cause if there is no greater weapon i can literally end my life in misery. So God bring me to the blessed Mary. I learn to pray rosary and it work. 98% of the voices is gone and im very peaceful and i have been praying the rosary everyday. I told my mentor with honesty what happened and she told me im far far gone from Gods road because im praying to the dead that is evil and wrong, its like i went to the wrong road. She told me to choose either christian protestan or catholic because i cant stand on 2 churches. I love my mentor she is a nice lady, i dont want to lose friendship. But at the same time, i dun want to give up on my praying rosary and i dun want to hide anything from her. Help what should i do.
