My Catholic self: "Never thought I'd die fighting side by side with a Protestant." LutheranSatire: "What about side by side with a faithful Christian?" My Catholic self: "Aye. I could do that."
While I get denominational differences are an integral part of our faith, I do wish that a lot more of us could be Christian first and foremost, and our different denoms second
@@godfrey_of_america and demoninational differences are just meaningless labels for people who can't or won't grapple with what it means to be a Christian...
@@godfrey_of_america Forgive me... you are probably a reformed. It is not right to pick on people who are by no fault of their own illiterate God-hating idiots, who can deny both the church and the sacraments in one breath... I should be ashamed of myself... would you forgive me, brother for being so sinful and mean to someone far less blessed with even s shred of cognitive ability like I am? Will you forgive me brother?
I feel like the most interesting thing about these modern times is how faithful Protestants and faithful Catholics are just kind of left standing next to each other like, "This world has lost its mind, huh?" "Yup."
I agree with some caveats. While Catholics and Protestants share many views and share a common life as persecuted by mainstream Western culture, most Catholics I speak with still answer the question, "How can you be certain you will inherit the kingdom of God?" with some variation, "If I do good enough obeying God's commandments..." They are still very confused about the concepts of salvation by grace alone through faith. I try to gently and Biblically correct their thinking, and for those who listen it becomes an immense weight off their shoulders knowing that Jesus already took care of that on the cross, and if they believe it then they will surely inherit the kingdom. No need for penance, indulgences, purgatory, etc. . St. Paul is STILL rolling over in his grave for how people fall for that old schtick even though he debunked that time and again in every epistle he wrote, but in particular...the Book of ROMANS. One would think the Roman Catholic church would take a harder look at that.
@@sidwhiting665 Yeah, for sure. The Papist laity are basically Pelagians at this point. Then again, I think more Protestants and Prosperity Gospel need to read James, and realize that thinking Jesus probably really existed and saying the sinners prayer once in your life doesn't count as faith. The answer to a heresy is seldom the opposite heresy.
@@WasLostButNowAmFound It's literally impossible for more than one Pope to exist at a time; it's one or none; there can be 100 "Popes" at a time, just one is the legit, the other 99 are Antipopes.
@@WasLostButNowAmFound Oh he was making fun of the current situation too of course, but in this case he was doing so by making Frank the Hippie Pope actually defend real Roman doctrine and dogma. And to be honest even as a Lutheran who doesn't believe in papal primacy at all I am cringing at the thought of a return to the days of popes and anti-popes. Those weren't fun times.
@@WasLostButNowAmFound if you really paid attention, he literally said that the RCC proves Christianity because the RCC is a Christian Church having succession throughout ages with unbroken chain, this channel implies that RCC is basically good lol
I don't understand why anyone would ever be Catholic willingly, it's a false religion that worships Lucifer, prays to corpses, and violates scripture regularly and in quite spectacular fashion...i mean, the pope is LITERALLY an anti-Christ, that's what vicar of Christ means! The funniest part is that when i tell Catholics about this they say I'm just making it up, even though it's literally on video for anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear... In other words, it's objective fact, NOT opinion. What's more is that this fact can thoroughly be backed up by the word of God. May God grant you true understanding of His word.
I mean... Roman Catholics hating how right Lutheran Catholics are is why the reformation happened... :P There is an alternative to the pope in Rome... and it is not Calvin... just saying... But seriously... stay in the Roman church. If all the Devout Christians left the Roman Church there would be no Debout Christians in the Roman church! And that would be no fun.
Just came here from the "Upon Friar Review" Channel and this channel is amazing. From a Catholic please continue the great work! I really enjoy your videos.
I didn’t even grow up Catholic, but the fact that the whole world is INTENT on bashing and defaming the Catholic Church makes it so incredibly clear how important the Roman Catholic Church really is. This was so spot on.
@@theproceedings4050 That may be true, but had no right to be critical of James. He would be definitely wrong in a debate about Jesus against his own family
@@alephmale3171 Most Biblical scholars aren't sure if the James that wrote James is the same as James the brother of Jesus, and many think likely not. In addition, it is okay to question the books that are in the Bible, as they were written by man and compiled by man. Hopefully they contain the Gospel truth, but anyone should convince themselves of that before blindly trusting the Bible, inspiration of God or not.
Saw the pope on tv he is not looking well. But he was to come to Canada to apologize for the abuse, phyiscal, mentally and sexual, his priests did to poor indigenous children as they try to teach these poor children how to be white. Cultural Genocide. So he coming to Canada to apologize for taking children away from their families to be raised by very sick minded people. We in Canada call these schools residential school in the states they are called boarding schools
I grew up Seventh-day Adventist and I got this all the time. A few years ago my church hosted a SDA pastor to do a series of seminars to convert people, and he said that Constantine tried to infiltrate Christianity with paganism, which he accomplished not only by changing the Sabbath to Sunday but also by other means. This pastor said the statue of St. Peter at the Vatican was originally a statue of Jupiter and the statues of Mary and baby Jesus were originally statues of Semiramis and Tammuz, and that this proves that Catholicism ("the whore of Babylon") and all other Protestants ("her harlot daughters") are apostates and pagans. But even I know that's bunk, because Semiramis and Tammuz were Sumerian gods, not Greco-Roman.
You should look into the Eastern Orthodox. Basically, the Pope used to be Orthodox, but broke off and did his own thing. The Mediaeval heresies are just the logical consequence.
@@doctorjarjarbinks7686 I like to call Biden Brandon, and say how awesome the Let's Go Brandon chant is, and look for that to cause ire and confusion, and a generate a compulsion by some to correct me.

When she said "And when everyone is Pope..." I predicted the "no one will be" but who could predict the voice? 😂😂😂 I'll take those 6,000 exorcisms to go.
I miss the good ole days! Ya know, when the Pontiff just dies in office like he is supposed to! Less mystery and confusion involved here .. Like WHY he -- "resigned." And ................................ BRING BACK THE F_____G -- triregnum!
"RCC as a visible manifestation of Christian epistemological claims…" sounds like "visible hierarchical institution of Chirst's mystical body" so i like it! :)
Well that’s a first. Thinking about Francis and laughing at the same time. Who knew? Signed: believing Catholic. PS: I didn’t get a check. I must need an agent. 😢
In The New Pope, there were many concurrent and semi-consecutive popes: a pope stuck in a coma, another pope quickly elected then even more quickly assassinated, another pope slowly elected before coma pope suddenly awakens and then the two retire and die (respectively).
I love you more than I can say What I give to one, the other cannot take away I bless the day you came to be With everything that is left to me Here's your pillow Go to sleep and I will follow May you never have anymore sorrows That's not something that you can count upon Still I want it for my three Popes My, my, my three Popes
wow, a Lutheran, who understands the Catholic Faith better than the majority of Catholic bishops today!! interesting indeed! I wonder how long it'll take you to convert to the One True Church, renounce the heresy of Luther and finally be able to attain salvation? extra Ecclesiam nulla salus
Well, it is not hard knowing more than the average Vatican II Catholic. ;) They need to clear house. I have zero confidents in Pope Francis and I am not even Catholic. When the Catholics has a Pope they like, the Pope can break wind and Catholics are like...it smells like Chanel No 5.
Definitely “we,” because when Jesus asked the reply from the demoniac was “We are Legion.” And, ancient Koine Greek, what should be translated as “What are you pronouns?” Thanks to earlier transcription errors put words in Jesus mouth “Who are you.” Jesting…my Koine is non existent…and Jesus at least in my various English translations…Jesus asked “Who are you.”
There are no popes in Christianity because the title Pontifex Maximus originally referred to the pagan roman high priest. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontifex_maximus Y'all decided to take a pagan title and apply it to your head guy, not us. The essence of Protestantism is to put the word of the prophets and apostles FIRST and the traditions of men SECOND, your organization does the opposite. 1.The scripture says a bishop is to be the husband of one wife and his children must be well behaved. (1 Timothy 3) Your tradition forbids Bishops to marry. 2. Scripture puts prayer on par with offering incense to God. (Revelation 8:3) Your tradition says praying to others besides God is not idolatry. 3. Saint Paul said by the power of the Holy Ghost that grace cannot be earned at all. (Romans 4:4) The council of Trent says, "If anyone says that the guilt is remitted to every penitent sinner after the grace of justification has been received, and that the debt of eternal punishment is so blotted out that there remains no debt of temporal punishment to be discharged either in this world or in the next in Purgatory, before the entrance to the kingdom of heaven can be opened-let him be anathema. (which means damned to Hell)" Your so-called "Church" told THE SAINT Paul to go to Hell. Please wake up.

The Germans seek for wisdom, the Romans pray for signs, but Eireann stands undaunted, as Christian truth entwines like saintly-stolen endless knot, these chainless slaves that Christ has bought. The kingdoms writhe, the churches burn, but for the reader pages turn... so praise to God the Father, Rí. Praise His Son, the door and key. Praise the Holy Ghost. That's three. And so God is. You know... Someday I would like to be Pope. I think that a Lutheran Bishop of Rome would be great for the RCC. I mean they seem much more open to new theological perspectives nowadays than in the 1500's... Like athiesm for instance... Perhaps the Reformation isn't over? Perhaps Luther was right? Perhaps God hasn't abandoned His church? Perhaps salvation is by Grace through faith, and not of works? Truly... We Lutherans care far more about the pope than the Romans do... ;)
