Dope locs!! 🔥🔥🔥 I can't wait for mine to fully mature! I'm 9 months in now & I have over 60 locs!! I have every shape from flat locs, skinny locs, fat locs & cylindrical locs!! Thank u Yannie for providing us with such beautiful & educational content! U ma'am are one of the very few RU-vidrs that convinced me to freeform aside from Knot Nation!! I said from the very beginning, I can't have locs that look like everyone else's!! I need my own unique & DISRESPECTFUL style ❤️✨💪 Peace & blessings to you all!
I'm the same. 7 months in with every shape and size. I just embrace them however they grow, not interested in the neat manicure look, I just wash and separate and go, I retwisted ones and hated the skinny look, I love my frizz. Loving my journey so far
A beautiful head of locs! His hair colour is similar to mine - my locs are different colours thanks to the sun :D Also, I am loving the new video graphics, Yannie! Thank you for all you do for the loc community! Sending you and Jimmy Love, Peace and Light from Lagos, Nigeria!
Had an awful salon retwist this morninb but this video inspired me to change paths and wash out the sticky gel foolishness. Going back to basics as less is definitely more.
Ms. Yannie I truly appreciate your channel and very happy you are sharing this video! After my first retwist, I started March 2021, I decided to freeform! This video was suggested, I feel like this is confirmation that this is the loc journey for me!
I just had mine washed and treated on Thursday. It's always an amazing experience, from the hair treatment, to the knowledge, to the people you meet while there. Blessings!
Yanni, I appreciate your experience and the way you keep it real. I'm leaning in the direction of free forming. I just made one year (shoulder length) and the webbing is to the tenth power. I probably damaged hair by pulling strands out that married into other locs.
Yay😊 the 1st to comment!! Ready to watch & get some knowledge from my one & only favorite Locologist 💞 not on social media besides RU-vid so subscribed to Jayvone channel also.
I love free from locs nothing beats then cus of how unique they are and one of a kind. I always thought there wasn’t really a right way to free form, just keep it clean and heathy and once in a while separate or you could let it become one big plica or what ever it’s called but that’s crazy having one huge loc 😂, awesome video tho keep up the good work and good content love watching these videos 🤙🏼🤙🏼
👏🏿👀I'm watching Yannie's videos so closely 🤣 cause I'm trying to call and TRY to get an appointment for GA💃🏾👀🤣I started my loc journey by watching Yannie's videos💃🏾💯👌🏿😉my locs will be 4 years old in August💯💃🏾🎯🙌🏿Thank You for the education Yannie! 🥰
Aww I called just for a Shampoo. Now I see why I didn't get a call back. 🙄 I wish you would just do that service.🧡 I Love your Channel. Thanks for all the info.
Just wanted to let you know. T-shirt drying comes from the not-locked natural hair community. Some say that regular towels snag hair badly so they use t-shirts instead to dry their hair since there's no loops for hair to get caught in. I'm really not sure if it's meant to dry the hair out all the way, considering how quickly loose hair can dry during the detangling process if you're too thorough with drying. Once the hair is dry, detangling is a terrible mess 😬😬😬
I Love Yannie’s videos and knowledge, however, for ME, I don’t separate my locs while dry and my scalp hates oil, I do regular, daily scalp massages and that encourages my natural sebum to activate, also, I wash my hair, I don’t see the benefits of going long periods of time not washing my hair, I don’t get that part.
Too much separation creates loose hair and thinning locks. Washing hair often only dries it out if you use shampoo with chemical additives. Otherwise you can wash it as often as you like. Not washing your hair dries it out even more. You can easily make your own shampoo with herbs and natural oils or jump in the sea everyday. I would always rinse salt off my body and hair because it feels sticky and dry.
Now, Queen Yannie, you just absolutely blew my mind. 🤯🤯🤯 As a loose natural, all i could hear was dry with t-shirt, dry with t-shirt, dry with t-shirt. And now i still do, out of rote. Oh Mylanta! Gotta stop that now. Lol And oh my ..what a beautiful young man, with gorgeous locs. Fantastic...
I have find 3b hair, and for the majority of my lock journey, I’ve had my hair maintained sparingly as possible. I now go 3-4 months without a retwist and I’m trying to grow enough new growth so that you don’t see my scalp, but haven’t been successful to this point
Just give it time bro I got 3b hair also or something around that texture and I been going free for the past 6 months and my locs are starting to not show the scalp, just let they go natty and it will thicken and closen up keep on keepin on with your journey bro 🤙🏼
Yes we don't see that here no more. When I was small raster was rasterman or woman or jank every body has it neatly done and small still beautiful . His is beautiful I love it. My mom would turn in her grave when i get mine. Great content.
I'm definitely a natty dread! I got two strand twist put in my head. Now I'm focused on keeping it clean period No oils, butters, gels, souffles etc. I've been putting my process on my channel as well.
