This site has a ton of good info about Dana 60 axles. Torque values for almost everything. Parts lists and numbers, differences between Chevy, Ford, and Dodge axles, and so much more.
Almost all parts used for this rebuild were purchased from offroad design. Check out their Dana 60 axle page here. www.offroaddesign.com/axles/d...
These guys know a lot about the Dana 60 axle and have parts for Chevy, Ford, and Dodge axles and can answer any of your questions and will get you the right parts. (I have had great customer service from these guys. I am NOT sponsored by them in any way, nor do I receive a discount.)

Great video! Very informative and clear instructions. The only thing I can think of when the directions say to," lightly tap it but not drive it." Is the "taps" help the sealant not fly off...I feel like "driving" it in a harsh manner would make the rtv dissappear. No disrespect I have questioned that comment over and over from the instructions myself for days. ver my self

I seem to be having a hell of a time finding the right wheel studs for my hub, any suggestions? The couple that are in mine are 2.5” under the head but everything I am seeing says 3”, also very expensive !

So you didn’t use the factory seals where you have to pull the ring gear to install them huh? Thanks so much. I’m rebuilding a ‘92 dodge Dana 60
@Offroadfarm1
@Offroadfarm1 2 года назад
I did use the seals in the pumpkin. I just installed those in a different video. check it out here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ysBqO3lRdOk.html starts at 0:49. Those outer seals are mostly to keep trash out of the axle tube. Thanks for watching

Is it possible to remove the steering knuckle without disassembling the hub? I need to change the kingpins but I had the hubs done a few years ago and don't want to mess with them if I don't have to.
@Offroadfarm1
@Offroadfarm1 3 года назад
It depends on what you need to repair/replace. If all you need to fix is the kingpin bushings or springs then yes. Just jack up one side, remove the top cap and replace what you need. If you need to replace the actual king pin then I don't think you can pull the knuckle with out pulling the hub and axle. You could probably replace the bottom king pin, I'm just not sure if you would have enough slack in the U-joint to get the knuckle over the top king pin. Thanks for watching and good luck on your project!

@@Offroadfarm1 last year I replaced the upper bushings, and my camber out problem is still here, so I believe it's the lower bearing that needs replacing. When I did the upper bushings, I inspected the upper kingpins and they looked good, hardly any visible wear at all.

How's that outer seal working for ya? Rebuilding my off-road CUCV axle in a few days. Curious as to how well it kept stuff out or, rather, just held mud and dirt in

Easy to install and no issues on the CUCV axles. Get the smaller diameter one, 2.0-2.25" size if I remember correctly. ECGS has them in stock. I shoved some massive RCV axles through them with RCV CV grease and it was a super easy install and slide the axles through. Mine slid into the tubes with my fingers, and just one light tap with a seal driver, I added a bead of RTV on the outer race of the outside portion of the seal and gave them 24-hours to cure before putting the axles through.
