Hi guys , I installed my slug power kit yesterday on my Impact MK2 . I did use the ball , the velocity defo went up a whole bunch . The 34 grain in .25 went buzzing I can tell you . Looking forward to trying heavier slugs at some crazy distances in the future on my channel . Subscribed to your Chanel . 👍👍👍

Great video guys, good job! I have an M3, 25 cal setup to shoot the NSA 34.9 gr slugs. Reg1-165 bar, Reg2-135 bar, Macro-10, Micro-4, Valve-1 turn out from line 4, Transfer port - Slug side. Getting 960 fps with the stock pellet probe. I threw in the FX pin probe and got same exact velocity. I did not install the hammer spring spacers or weaker valve return spring.

Thanks for the compliments and guidance. We will be testing and playing with tunes and one of them will be this one. How many shots do you get out of a fill? That’s my one draw downside with the current tune…. Not enough shots

One of the things that hasn't been brought up is the softer valve spring .it's beneficial in the longer barrels but in the shorter ones it will hurt more than help if your trying to run a high power tune 130 bar and up .

Just pulled my slug probe and heavy liner off. Now I’ve got the lighter liner on, and the pellet probe. Shooting 36g H&N slugs 970fps and it’s more consistent and more accurate then ever before! Shooting 1.5 inch groups at 200 yards now. And also getting 70-75 shots per fill.

We were just discussing the heavy liner and contemplating the investment. Curious about those results. You are getting the best performance closer to “stock”? Thanks for the feedback and comments!!!!

@@bowmanoutdoors I shot 38.5G nsa slugs for the last 5 months with heavy liner and slug probe. I tried JSB slugs, fx slugs, H&N, zan, Griffen, ect. The 38.5s shot the best out of everything. Was shooting them 980fps. They shot great! But I’m a picky bastard and great isn’t perfect lol. Anyways, I decided to start over from base in the pursuit of perfection, I put the light liner back on and the pellet probe back on, tried several slugs and when I got to the H&Ns my jaw dropped. Hole in hole at 35 yards 50,60,70 yards. At 100 yards every slug is touching consistently with 10 shot groups. Yesterday the weather was absolutely perfect and I stacked slug on slug at 200 yards. Out of 8 ten shot groups 3 of them were 1.5 inches center to center and all of them were under 4inches.

@@bowmanoutdoors but yes, getting the best performance running stock! However, I could have had a badish heavy liner, or I could have an amazing standard stx light liner. Hell I haven’t ruled out a bad slug probe yet either. With airguns there’s no 2 alike, and there’s millions of combinations to try, you’ll never get perfection, but eventually you’ll find a combo that’s damn good!
@bowmanoutdoors
@bowmanoutdoors 2 года назад
With thousands of factors and inputs/outputs you are absolutely correct…. We are in that pursuit of “as close to perfect as we can get”. We did similar with the 22cal last year and I had the exact same reaction you did when I can to the H&N slugs. Far exceeded my expectations when I thought they would be the worst. My problem now is finding H&N in 25 cal. No luck so far but after hearing your results, I will try a bit harder to locate some. Thanks for sharing!

I’m running a stock m3 and shooting h&n 34 gr slugs in .25 at 944. Room to go higher but right now I like where it’s at. I wonder if the high 2nd reg pressure you’re running is why the non slug kit is shooting massively slower? You could probably lower that and get faster. Just what I observed. Good video! 2 questions... 1. has the kit tightened the velocity spread? 2. where would you say the depth adjustment screw should be for engaging the lands/grooves?
@bowmanoutdoors
@bowmanoutdoors 2 года назад
1. The power kit did indeed tighten velocities. We could often get a standard deviation of 3-4 FPS. There are other factors also though. Slug/pellet consistency, temperature, etc. 2. Chasing the lands on slugs can be challenging. If you will shoot only 1 going forward this does get a bit easier. Start with the pin probe just clearing the magazine port so that you do not end up with a conflict between probe and mag. I then went about .75 mm back out and have had OK results. I have several other factors to chase down before fully diving into this one though. Very good questions and thank you for your support and engagement. 🙏

Have you checked that the pellet probe is aligned correctly with the transfer port? Your fps is very low for your reg settings, install a slug pin probe or align correctly the pellet probe, mine had an offset with the transfer port of 2mm and the speed fell like 50 fps. Slug power kit gave me no gains, it is still on my rifle because I am too lazy to remove it. Had same results with and without
@bowmanoutdoors
@bowmanoutdoors 2 года назад
I believe we are aligned and with the change to the huma air slug port, it is a big area to not be aligned. I’ll check again though. Yesterday I tested several settings and ended up shooting 38.5gn slugs at 970 fps with the following: Reg 1: 170 bar Reg 2: 145 bar Valve: line 4 plus 1 turn Power wheel: 10 Micro: 3.5 Thanks for commenting

Nice video. Have a question that you might can help me with or explain to me something I saw on Air hunter Gerhard Video. He was showing the settings on his Impact M3 and he show the tune he had on his gun. What I didn't understand was he said he had a dual (port setting), I didn't understand what he was referring to. Any Ideal as to what he meant by port settings, Never heard of a port setting on an Impact just on the crown where you can set the port on low, med, and max but the Impact 3 doesn't have that. He gave his 1st reg setting, 2nd reg setting, valve adjuster setting, micro wheel setting, and micra setting. He then listed his port setting as dual. Completely lost me on that port setting because he didn't point it out. Any Ideal on that port setting Thxs
@bowmanoutdoors
@bowmanoutdoors 2 года назад
The only thing I can think of is the barrel port. The Impact comes with 2 options for installing the barrel. On is “P” for pellet, the other is “S” for slug. The pellet port is a small round hole, while the slug hole is square in shape with a center bar making it appear to have two holes (dual). Whichever one you choose would be down. We can do a quick video, but it is a simple change. One set screw, slightly pull the barrel out, rotate 180 degrees to desired port down, then push back in and tighten screw. Good question and I hope this helps. I can also grab a photo if it would help.

@bowmanoutdoors
@bowmanoutdoors 2 года назад
Reg 2 will not go higher than reg 1. Ensure you degass the system entirely if you are moving regulators down otherwise you could damage. Turning up is ok with pressure but make small adjustments. 1/8 turn at a time. Reg 1 is directly behind the bottle. Unscrew bottle, then using 2.5mm Allen wrench, turn the Reg slightly to left (if I remember correctly) to increase pressure, then reinstall bottle and see if your Reg went up. Would a video be helpful? Or a photo?

@@bowmanoutdoors are you referring to reg 1 as the bottle reg or the rear reg? I was referring to the bottle reg. It seems very unstable.
@bowmanoutdoors
@bowmanoutdoors 2 года назад
@@arubino19 the M3 has 3 gauges. Bottle, 1st stage, 2nd stage. We both have digital regulators on Reg 2 as it is the one pushing air to the projectile. No issues with bottle pressure, but Reg 1 on my gun creeps down at times, then others it does not. We have installed a Huma-air (gen 3) aftermarket regulator for Reg 2 and it is stable and spot on with no creep. Reg 2 adjustment is under trigger, Reg 1 adjustment is under the valve adjustment screw (after bottle removal). Hope this helps, if not we can put together a video. I’d like to figure out how to make Reg1 more stable anyway.
@arubino19
@arubino19 2 года назад
@@bowmanoutdoors I was told changing the stack pattern of the washers in reg one helps fix creep and makes it more stable when set at higher pressures. I have not taken apart my reg to try that. Maybe make a video on trying that? I wish consumers didn’t have to do stuff like this on guns of this price point, nothings perfect I guess.

I use a .25 M3 with a 700mm superior liner, my mate uses exactly the same gun but fitted the slug power kit and had plenty of issues, in the end he just fitted the spacers and the pin probe and left everything else out and managed to get 990fps for his 36g slugs, where i did not fit the slug power kit but managed 970fps with 38g slugs??? i did my own research and the common consensus seems to be that the fx impact M3 does not require a slug power kit so i dont know why some M3,s ( like yours) get a increase in velocity and some M3,s like mine dont seem to need it? my M3 came to me as it would from the factory and the only mods i did was fit a carbon fiber sleeve and some saber tactical gear. keep the videos coming, i enjoy watching you guys do what you do but dad...please dont go sticking that FX chrono on your barrel whilst standing in front of a loaded rifle.

You are absolutely correct about standing in front of the rifle. Thanks for the reminder to be a better example. Not sure on the power kit either but we tried our best to go apples to apples and did see a difference. In the end the spacers (washers) and pin probe are all we ended with also. Maybe we missed something but certainly think we are still equal on the tunes when firing. We don’t get as many shots though so I’ll start searching for a better balance between power/accuracy/efficiency.

@bowmanoutdoors if added with other mods I can see a big benefit. But just installing the slug power kit won't get you the 50-80fps extra as advertised. More like 5-10 fps max. Ted also experienced the same. He said folks who claim they got 50fps plus are probably not lining up the transfer port correctly to get the full power. If you line your pellet prob port correctly with the transfer port, you should get close to what the pin prob (power kit).
