I see where you traded in your Electra Glide for the Heritage. Good choice and it’s great to be out in this warm February weather for sure. Thanks for watching as always!

My wife got a Sportster this last spring. I didn’t have many rides by myself after that. 🥴 It’s been fun though. Just found your channels. Subbed. 🤙🏻The 4k looks amazing!

My wife is not very much into motorcycles so it’s solo for me. She’s talked about riding on the back of the Heritage so we will see about that. Thx for watching and subscribing!

I think he's known as Big Rock Moto now. Used to be Big Rock Media but he changed it. His reviews are great. It's made me want to trade the Heritage 114 in! There are so many areas to ride adventure bikes here in East Alabama and West Georgia! Love the vids!

I did see where he changed his channel name. Big Rock Moto does sound better. I love adventure bikes too. Considering a Suzuki VStrom for a 2nd bike if I can find a good low mileage used one. You’re right - plenty of good roads in this area. Thanks for watching!

The image quality is great! I was also on the Harley this afternoon. I rode over to the wilderness battlefield and discovered, to my delight, that it’s only about 35 or 40 minutes away. Down nice country roads too. Retirement is fun!

I’ll have to get up to Virginia when I’m retired next year and we can visit a couple of battlefields. Chicamauga on the GA/TN state line is close to me. I will do a video soon on that great Civil War site. Thanks for watching!

The ride over through Tate Ga. and across Burnt Mountain to Dawsonville is a real nice road for scenery. Big Canoe area has some nice roads also. 😎👍

Time for an upgrade, Mr Dave! I was always told that RU-vid downgraded the videos from 4K to 1080p, but apparently not anymore. I figured I would try it and it does look pretty awesome in 4K on my new smart tv. I’ll have to get some better scenery in the next one. Thanks for watching!

Without going back and watching an older vlog or 2, to me, it looks about the same as before. We were going to ride a bit yesterday, but I tweaked my back on Saturday, and riding wasn’t an option. The Mrs. is just about sold on a Heritage for her next bike. Probably next year.

Hope you’re back heals up. I hurt mine the day after I bought my Heritage and had to have surgery. My new bike sat in the garage for a month. I know the Mrs will like the Heritage. Great choice.

Took advantage of a 60 degree day in Kansas today and rode my Heritage around some of the back roads.....about 300 miles through Flint Hills. Usually ride solo as well. Great therapy. Gotta grab those warm days when you can in February. I enjoy your videos...the 4K looks great.

Hi mate, thank you for subscribing recently, I really appreciate it, thought I’d return the favour and check out your video 🤘 Whilst I might have a ZZR1400 (totally different bike to your style) hopefully we’ll still get along 😄 I tend to ride in a pair or in groups, although I do find it so much easier to vlog when I’m by myself 🤘 Looking forward to the solo trips when you retire buddy. Take it easy bud 🤘

If you have enough memory cards, storage on your pc an processing power, I am sure 4 K is worth it for some things. RU-vid does give it better compression than anything else. But I still shoot in 1080 at 24fps. I watch youtube on a big TV an I rarely notice 1080 from 4K. Unless you watch something newly uploaded. RU-vid does a quick compression then does a cleaner job later. That first one is garbage in 1080. But once that is done, you have to be looking for it to notice 4K from 1080, even on this big screen. I have a hard time with the idea that most viewers using a phone screen notice that often. One option to make 1080 better is to compress it yourself to what youtube wants. Use the same bitrate file type an everything as youtube outputs. They dont recompress files they like an your computer does it better than theirs. I played with that a lot years ago an my gaming channel an had 1080 looking good. I think they changed compression formats sense though. 4K is the easy option if you are shooting short videos with little editing needed, or you have someone else doing your editing. When you start shooting a how to, with multiple cameras filming diffrent angles for multiple hours, now you have a lot of big files that have to be worked with at the same time. 3 or more 4K files open at the same time so you can edit them together, that slowes down even a decent computer. Editing starts taking longer than shooting. Frame rate is the easiest way to save on file size though. TV settled on 30FPS as a standard years ago, but the film industry has stuck with 24fps forever. They keep playing with faster frame rates all the way up to 120 fps, but its usually used as a specall effect as it looks unnatural. 24P has a more natural look, motion blur matches what our eyes are use to an it saves space, so they keep going back to it for a reason. Mostly to save space I always shoot in 24p, but I really think it looks better straight out of the camera. I only use higher frame rate if I plan to use that shot for slow motion, or pulling screenshots. If I change my mind later, I can add back motion blur in post. Refres rates of monitors use to make 24P look funny. But now refeshrates are so fast that effect has died out.

Great information. You know so much more than I do about video production for sure. I looked at my 4K video compared to my normal 1080p videos and saw a little improvement in clarity and sharpness but not a lot. Even when watching on my big screen LED smart tv. I’ll probably keep producing the videos in 4K. I have a laptop just for my RU-vid video editing and I have plenty of storage space. The processing and uploading does take more time, but I have a pretty fast internet connection so it’s not too bad. Thanks for watching and all the detained info!

Enjoyed the 4K. I’m struggling with storage and processing to maintain it. But the difference is clear :)
@GARamblinMan
@GARamblinMan Год назад
The files are definitely larger and take more processing time. I have a dedicated laptop I use with plenty of storage. It also helps to have a fast internet connection. I live in a newer neighborhood with pretty up to date fiber so I’m good there. It’s all a learning process for sure. Thanks for watching.

Rambling man,did you test ride the roadking, before buying the heritage? If so how did you come to choose the heritage? I’m deciding between the to. Thanks again for the down home videos. 👍👍👍👍👍
@GARamblinMan
@GARamblinMan Год назад
I did ride the Road King several times along with the Heritage and I really loved both bikes. It really came down to the weight of the Heritage being less and easier to muscle around my garage. As I get older, I’m not getting any stronger. They are both great touring motorcycles and you can’t go wrong with either one. I made a video about a year ago on why I chose the Heritage over the Road King. You can check it out for even more of my thoughts on the two motorcycles. Thanks for watching.
@BegoneJonah
@BegoneJonah Год назад
@@GARamblinMan I had the same dilemma, sort of. I found the Heritage very easy to ride and agile. But in the end I went for the bigger touring frame of the Road King (I'm 6'3" and 285 pounds.)
@GARamblinMan
@GARamblinMan Год назад
@@BegoneJonah I really could have went with either one. I’m 6 ft and about 210 lbs so I was comfortable on both. They were about the same price so it was a toss up. You never know when I might trade it in on a Road King or a GoldWing or a Road Glide or an Indian Springfield or a Kawasaki Vaquero or……..you get the idea. I love all motorcycles pretty much. Ha! Or a Boston Whaler even. Need that lake house first.

@@BegoneJonah I think the biggest difference between the Heritage and the Road King is the bags. The saddlebags on the Heritage can store stuff, but not a lot. The RK bags are bigger and hold more. I’ve got an Ultra Limited, and I like the storage options it gives me.

I honestly don't see any improvement in quality with 4K!
@GARamblinMan

I couldn’t either. I think maybe it’s a little better if you’re watching on a super hi definition smart tv, but on a smaller laptop or computer monitor- not really noticeable. Thanks for watching and commenting!
