5:00 pm pdt 9/2/23 I have a 2 burner Napoleon grill with an additional burner on the outside for boiling etc. changed tanks and only able to light one of the 3 fully. When I light one, full flame but when adding a second, the flame on both is barely on. Worked fine b4 new tank. Have tried all the remedies recommended like resetting the regulator. Mike R

You aren’t supposed to use just a ordinary screw to hold the carry over tube in place. The part that fits in there is used to adjust the flame. When tightened down it allows less gas to flow and backing it off causes more gas to flow creating a larger flame. You should have an even blue flame on all burners to cook evenly and not waste gas, not a high orange flame which you have if you can’t adjust the gas flow like when using just any old screw. FYI

Nice and simple - Except next time your in there take out the burners, clean the grill, heat tents, and burners with a shop vac, with simple green, hose, stainless steel pad. Ideally 1 or 2 times a year depending on use and it will last way longer. Then oil up the grates and heat tents with some cooking oil. Your grill will thank you by lasting way longer.

Question: My carryover tubes have a slot that runs the length of one side of each tube. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention when removing the old tubes, so I'm not sure if the slot should face the front or back of the grill. Does it matter? I did notice that some flame comes out of that slot when the grill is fired up.
@GrillPartsPros
@GrillPartsPros 6 лет назад
Great question! These slots typically face in toward the grill. However, the most important thing is the placement of the carryover tube in relation to the burner tube. The carryover tube should be alongside of the burner, maybe an inch or two in from the back where it connects to the grill. The slot is where the flame runs along the gas from one burner to the next, so it should align with the holes of the burner. Let me know if that doesn't make sense!

Does the gas go over to the other tube or just the flame somehow? How do you adjust the heat on the various burners if the gas is not coming out of them directly?
@GrillPartsPros
@GrillPartsPros 6 лет назад
Great Question! Each burner is fed gas separately from a valve. Each valve is connected to the knob on the front of the grill. So, when you adjust each knob, you are adjusting the gas flow to the burners separately. There is gas that runs along the carryover tube in the back as well, but that is fed from the burners and the only purpose of it is to carry the flame from the lit burner to the burner next to it. It will not light the burner next to it if that burner does not have it's own gas valve turned on. I hope that clarifies and answers you question!

Grill Girl, I’m having trouble removing frozen screws. I see you drilled into the center but yours came out easy. I’ve sprayed with lubricant multiple times. What if I drill through the center, how do I remove them if they’re still stuck?
@GrillPartsPros
@GrillPartsPros 4 года назад
You could use some metal snips to cut them off or try to break them off with pliers if they are very rusty. If this doesn't work you may have to replace the burner it is stuck to. Good luck!

@@GrillPartsPros My burner and carryover tube connections were literally fused together from the rust and heat. I had to cut them all off and replace them!

Hi! I have a problem with a excessively high flames at the intersection of the carry over tubes and burners on my Char-Broil grill. Also, I have a line of flames across the carry over tubes. This has been going on since I bought the grill. Also, should the carry over tubes be installed so the open flange is facing inward toward the grill and about from the cook? Any suggestions? Thanks so much! Bernie
@GrillPartsPros
@GrillPartsPros 2 года назад
Hi Bernie! Unfortunately, because of the way carryover tubes are designed, there will always be flame coming out of them, even after all the burners light because it is an open channel for the gas to flow through. Due to this, many grills with carryovers are going to be hotter at the back of the grill. You can try to remove the carryovers to reduce the problem. Of course then you will have to make sure each burner is lit manually / separately when you light up the grill. To answer your other question, the open channel should be facing the front of the grill. This will reduce the amount of heat at the back of the grill body. Hope this helps!

@@GrillPartsPros hello! Mine are in the front of the grill. Should mine be facing towards the back into the grill? I have the same flame issue. But instead of the back mine are in the front

What do you do if the screws are so rusted there is no slot for a screwdriver? I didn't think using a rust buster is the best choice: flammable and lingering odor.
@SATDIVEROO
@SATDIVEROO 6 лет назад
I used vise grips. screws and burners are usually rusted enough to twist screws out.
@GrillPartsPros
@GrillPartsPros 5 лет назад
If they are that rusted, the holes in the burners are probably pretty rusted too. As you can see in the video, the screws literally dropped into the holes and will hold the carry-over tubes in place. If your screws are a tighter fit but the slot is rusted, just get some new sheet metal screws of the correct diameter and screw those suckers in!

@@GrillPartsPros carryover tubes r rusty. Thinking of removing for good and just Light burner one by one individually- Is that safe ?
@GrillPartsPros
@GrillPartsPros 3 года назад
@@925Warbot You can light each burner one by one with a grill lighter (with the long wand). Please avoid putting your hands inside the grill while lighting. You can also find replacement carryover tubes at grillpartssearch.com by entering in the model number for your grill to find the right carryover tube replacement part. Hope this helps!

how about changing the steel burners to cast iron burners?
@GrillPartsPros
@GrillPartsPros 5 лет назад
In a grill like this, the valves are made for the tube-style burner as opposed to the cast iron style burner. It is possible that you could find a cast iron rail-type burner that would fit inside your grill, but it's not likely that it would burn well because of the differing BTU needs. For those reasons, we would not suggest replacing a tube-style burner with a cast-style burner. Material does not matter as much as the type of burner does. You can find cast stainless burners as well as cast brass burners, but they still wouldn't be a good replacement for a tube burner.
