i just go done taking this laptop apart and i noticed that the gpu isn't even touching the heat sink at all o.o is there any way to fix this? or help it?

I was trying to clean dust out of my fans and I never realized I had to take the whole thing apart like this... (I thought simply unscrewing the bottom would do it) In trying to pry the media panel I wrecked my asterisk key. Then I did something wrong during the whole procedure because now, after reassembling I get no video. I hear the laptop boot up and I hear windows 7 start but there is no power to the screen. All black. Sigh, I just wanted to blow out the dust from my fans....

Your mother board is fired like mine was cause i had same problem, i got a refurbished board from eBay for 100bucks and im using everything from old board including CPU and it works perfect. But i have the NV79 model. The biggest version of the NV series.

Pablo Hidalgo they go to the wireless card. its about an inch big and is green add on chip. u will see 2 little pins those wires snap in. the black one goes on the left and white on right. hope that helps.

after 5+ years of trouble with this over priced lappy mines going to the shotgun range then the trash. Garbage design, and I always trusted Gateway.

Lol guys its the easiest thing in the world to take the laptop apart and put back together xd i have the nv79 model and it was supper easy xd my motherboard went out and bought one from ebay refurbished for 100 bucks and was a piece of cake to get back together. If you remember how you took it apart it goes together the same exact way.

Just letting everyone know... some parts are much cheaper than what these sites offer . I almost bought a $60 AC adapter because my laptop stop getting power. It wasn't the DC jack - but a shortage in the cable from being stepped on and pulled previously. So I went to ebay - I bought one for $12 - just looked at the model # typed in the brand of laptop on ebay and found it cheap !!! SAVE YOURSELF MONEY !!! find what is the real problem and buy your own parts cheap - and DYI

King JamesIX the reason he is using power tools is most likely because the machine is already dead. Rule of thumb is if it is a working machine then static mat and hand tools.

Pretty worthless site. 4 laptops. Didn't have them. I keep putting in the model number on Google and I see a RU-vid link, so I click on it and I am taken here where I get that SPAM message. I go to the site. They do not have my model. I need the exact not the series laptop. I cannot stand how many models they do NOT have. Sorry. Wasting my time.
