George Floyds LEAKED VIDEO left me Confused 

What confuses me is when they honor Floyd with murals portraying him as an angel with angel wings and halo? You fckn kidding me 🤦🏻‍♂️

I don't have mixed emotions, he was high on fentanyl, the man was saying he couldn't breathe minutes before a knee was ever on his neck, but he could breathe just fine in the car he was driving. It is plausible that had he not been high, he would have lived, but we'll never know. The point is, the country did not deserve to burn, and innocent people didn't deserve to die, because one man, who was a career criminal and a junky, lost his life. The other brother, who was in the passenger seat, went home that day, why, because he complied.

What gets me is not one person has placed any blame on George Floyd himself for choosing to do drugs OR his dealer for supplying the lethal dose.

I’ve been in law enforcement since 1992, I have watched the video..officers did pretty much all they could’ve done to control this situation. Unless you have been in a situation like this it’s so easy to arm chair quarterback any video or someone else’s decisions while in a crisis. We people in law enforcement don’t have hours or days we have split seconds to make critical decisions in a life or death situation. Absolutely sad all the way around, I do not believe for a second the officer intentionally caused the death of the suspect. The officer was found guilty by a tainted jury and arm chair quarterbacks. Until you have walked in our shoes as law enforcement officers you have no idea what it’s like to be judged on a situation that’s no longer than a split second decision. God Bless we in Blue.

The media should be charged for all damage and lives lost that the rioting caused.

Why can't we as a society have these kind of hard conversations? Why can't we talk about facts? Why can't we offer our own opinions and have a constructive conversation? Seems like a lot of people out there don't care and just want to see the world burn.

I’m a trauma nurse with 18yrs experience. People on different drugs can become extremely strong and violent in a split second which makes it nerve wracking and dangerous to deal with them. There’s no warning whatsoever with the rapid change from calm to aggressive and I’ve witnessed multiple coworkers who were severely injured for giving the person the benefit of doubt rather than being overly cautious, along with being injured myself a number of times. One of my coworkers had her jaw broken in 9 places while trying to put a blanket on a patient who said he was cold and seemed to have calmed down from his previous erratic behavior, so in this line of work calm after the storm does not always mean docile. They go through periods of sudden calm, sadness, erratic, or aggressive behavior because of the drugs. It doesn’t seem like this was a malicious act by the police officer. You can see the officers struggling with him and then hear the officer on his neck say “no he’s staying still right where he is” which is why he wanted to keep him there. I’m assuming he figured he was going through a calm moment and didn’t want to rock the boat. They also called an ambulance and we’re waiting for their arrival even though they could’ve just shoved him in the back of the police car where he most likely would’ve died from the same thing. He had his knee on the back of his neck and not the front or side which wouldn’t put pressure on his airway or either carotid arteries and wouldn’t have caused loss of consciousness or death. After realizing he became relaxed the officer should’ve checked on him, but your video only showed him looking unconscious for a few seconds so I’m not sure how long that officer neglected to check on his status. Unfortunately police officers, nurses, doctors, firefighters, etc are all human and we make mistakes. In at least 95% of situations like this the person in George Floyd’s position wouldn’t have died and the fact that he went into cardiac arrest right at that moment isn’t something I think many people would be worried about with a man that was walking and talking seconds before. He said I can’t breath but he was also saying he was claustrophobic and acting extremely anxious which can cause hyperventilation. I don’t think the officer was trying to kill him, and from the video they didn’t seem to be treating him differently than they would with any other suspect in that state of mind. It’s a horrible situation and I can’t imagine the pain his mother suffered having to lose her son, especially having to see that video knowing how scared he felt in those last moments. If it were my decision I’d definitely enforce mandatory learning/ training to ensure this situation never happens again with an arrest, but it’s certainly not the first time something like this has happened and I don’t think that officer should spend the rest of his life in prison for it. It seems like this situation was blown out of proportion for political reasons.

Imagine you being a rookie cop and you have a 6’8” 250+lb fentanyl/methed out felon with history of gun violence on your hands....

Can confirm his description of Excited Delirium and how it can give you superhuman strength. I'm a 5'7 scrawny male and was able to throw two 6'2+ police officers around like they were made of paper during an episode on Legal High (Spice), heart rate was recorded by paramedics at 240bpm (was definitely higher during the episode) and when I crashed it was bad, basically had a full body seizure (other people who were there described it as me looking possessed). Scared me straight I can tell you.

What kills me is he's claustrophobic to get in the back of the police truck , but you wasn't when your friend drove you to the store in his truck . I've been telling black folks for over a year stop making excuses for him . Did you also see the item he stole in the store when he put in his pocket while waiting in line you people miss all that. But here's the thing after the two young guys at the store confront you about the fake money , you stayed around and still didn't leave the scene!!! The fact that Chauvin was convicted of all accounts is a travesty ; I can understand involuntary manslaughter. A law enforcement expert testified for the defense that Chauvin was using proper procedure. Brandon makes a good point about knee pressure, then release and ask suspect , repeat.

The police officers involved didn't get a fair trial at all whatsoever.

We’re I grew up… GF was a weekly thing. Black, white, Asian and Hispanic. No one cared. 99% of the time these fools were on 5 different drugs. Most of the time they were nearly impossible to contain and get calm. They often died of strokes, heart attacks or panic attacks. It’s sad. But it’s what happens. They also often brandished loaded guns, knives and would attempt to either hurt themselves or others. It’s what happens when you have a huge black market on drugs and guns due to insane laws. Plus when you pay people to be homeless it doesn’t help the situation.

Derek Chauvin knew him. He literally said an unarmed man is the MOST dangerous person they come in contact with. Huh? Tatum said Chauvin should had played the game, played to the camera by putting his knee on and off. What??!!

One other observation Tatum is they had to arrest him. Not because he passed a counterfeit $20.00 bill but because he was obviously intoxicated and high and in the driver side seat of a vehicle which is a lethal weapon when being driven by an intoxicated person.

It came out right after this happened, that he died at the hospital of cardiac arrest due to a drug overdose of fentanyl. Period.

The other thing that nobody is talking about is that he has a huge reputation that every time Police try to detain him even just for questioning as soon as they go to handcuff him he instantly starts screaming I can’t breathe my chest hurts I can’t breathe and multiple times he’s asked to lay down and have them call an ambulance and then when the ambulance got there a couple times they put them in the back of the ambulance and before they could cut him he kicks his way out of the ambulance and takes off running and gets away so he has a huge reputation of crying wolf

What I am mad about is how CNN said he wasn’t on drugs. People on the left still believe this.

As a kid i remember my neighbors arguing outside, a 22yr old son and his 40 something yr old father, before taking the action inside the house. The son was high on PCP and his religious father wasn't having it in his home. The son took a swing at his father and missed, the father threw him against the wall and he dropped like a sack of potatoes to the floor. An autopsy showed his heart basically exploded with adrenaline and excitability due to the PCP pumping through his veins and he had an obvious heart attack at 22yrs old. His father never seemed to get over his unexpected death and blamed himself up until his dying day. On the bright side,it opened everyone's eyes in the neighborhood to what PCP and/or drugs can do to an individual and their entire family and the drug situation started to calm down for a bit, unfortunately it didn't last long and it was right back to "business as usual" in a short amount of time but it never eased the blame or guilt the father put on himself

In the vid, you can hear George Floyd saying, "I can't breath" while he was handcuffed and sitting in the back of the police car. So he was already experiencing the shortness of breath from multiple drugs in his system.

I remember watching the first released footage of this the morning after it happened. I open the door and immediately told my wife to watch this and this was going to be a big problem. The understatement of the my life.

I thought that cop was guilty when I saw the phone video. Then I saw all the full body cams and I didn't know. It was all very upsetting. Upsetting how worked up Floyd got himself and upsetting that those videos weren't shown to the public pretrial. I don't think the cop tried to kill him. The visual behind the car is much different than what the people on the sidewalk saw. Plus all those drugs over a period of time. It probably took a toll on his body. What are sober people/ cops supposed to do with sick high people? How could the medical experts just completely dismiss the toxicology report or the long term effects of habitual drug abuse? I just don't get it?

We should have more police officers like you. Those who think before, during and after they act. Officers who can keep a cool, clear head and not let their ability outweigh their reasoning.

What does any of this matter? Why would anyone think that it's okay to sit on someone for nine minutes even after they go limp and silent, and they urinate because their body is dying? Did they teach that in the academy? Or perhaps you learned that at church? Those officers failed to render aid to a handcuffed man, and he died. That's all that matters. How can you watch him die for nine minutes and not feel ill? Who cares if he was on drugs? That doesn't mean he doesn't deserve help.

Add to that the fact that the left coast states have been providing one-way airfare to these troubled individuals, sending them 'back home' to Hawaii where they can enjoy our climate, our hospitality, and our tax base. Brandon one thing that was not allowed to be talked about in the court case was that GF had pulled the same stunt earlier when previously put in the same circumstances. He kept officers engaged for almost 40 minutes with the same excuse about being claustrophobic. In that incident the officers were called away to another higher priority situation and he was let go. He was obviously trying to pull the same stunt. Did he deserve to die hell no but this whole situation was because of his law breaking behavior on multiple counts. There is also a video of the officers at his SUV when they pull him out and he's shoving pills down his throat.

I was addicted to narcotics for 40 YEARS. It started with percodan, back in the day, 1975, when I was 15. A year later I was shooting smack. Over 30 years later I was trying to maintain a 300mg methadone habit a day. It simply became impossible for me. And I can tell you this. Along the way I had cops kneel on my neck, my face, my back. A few times. And that was nothing compared to other things the happened over the years. I've been caught up in drug raids, bitten by police dogs, lost everything I owned including trust of ANYBODY, lived on the street, prison, jail....you get the idea. Clean now for over a decade it's unbelievable to ME looking back at how I lived and things I did. Truly. And ONE THING is a fact. Every single thing that happened to me, and the many other junkies I ran with over the years, was a result of our behavior. We had, and have, nobody to blame but ourselves. We were not victims. Ever. Victims were what we created. That's how it works. It took me years to regain the trust I destroyed with everyone that knew me. Today, it's the most valuable thing I have. More than anything.

Turns out he was saying "I can't breathe" while they were attempting to put him in the back of the cruiser prior to any restraint being applied. It's "hands up don't shoot 2.0. It's unfortunate the man died but under the circumstances the officers were not overly aggressive. They offered to roll the windows down for him. They were trying to reason with yet another person who was flat out resisting from the word go.

As a cardiac RN, fentanyl overdoses cause respiratory distress, heart attacks, and death. And thats the average overdose amount. He had 4 times that much in his system. He also had meth in his system, which adds to the excited delirium.

Drugs should not be a rationale to send someone to jail.

IMHO once an arrestee makes a declaration that they can't breathe, more care should have been exercised and medical attention provided. The cops did not act with professionalism and should suffer the consequences.

The other crime he committed was getting behind the wheel of a vehicle while high as a kite. Imagine how many he could have killed if he drove away rather than being detained.

He was saying he couldn’t breathe before he got in the car, then while in the car. So how are the officers supposed to know if this guy is bullshiting them while on the ground. I'm from Minneapolis and I feel like I just stepped off a roller coaster. I am overwhelmed with emotion. My grandchildren live 7 blocks away from where this happened. Our city was under seige in multiple ways. I cannot explain how I feel rn.
