German Jagdpanther TankTank This Jagdpanther has been restored and brought to Tankfest 2019 by the Weald Foundation Tankfest 2019 The Tank Museum Panasonic GH5 4k #thetankmuseum #germanpanthertank #tankfest #tankfest2019
@@WesAndSherrySportsCards There is nothing propaganda in saying these tanks were ureliable. The german documented it very well. 40% of german armor losses after 1943 were because of mechanical failure.
@@ZeptoreVSgaming Building things in quantities needs human and industrial capacities to do so Germany did not have. The over 50 countries that declared war on germany had both.
Hard to believe they lost the war with tanks like this and ships like Bismarck, Tirpitz, Graf Spee and Deutschland. They also had great planes like ME262 and Fw190.
After all the jadgetiger,..was basically a naval gun utilizing shell and bag propellant. 75 tons And just about useless,..except in a long range role. Something tanks rarely encounter.
just ask the english and american veterans who face these things what thay have to say und if all german thing where crap why did it take 26 country nearly 6 years to bring 1 germany down .
von sauerkraut I don’t have a basement. Or a bunker to go commit suicide in,...what a joke! Hitler,Goering,Gerbils,Himmler,.....were all chicken shits. None of them died facing the enemy,....they are cowards to the very core. All the REAL Germans,.......were imprisoned,shot,...or just plain ignored. A whole country willing to let crooks run everything. Even our own Charles Lindbergh wasn’t smart enough to see that. Or Mr. Kennedy. Which is why Roosevelt,.......canned his lazy ass!
THAT is One BASS ASS BEAST! I think one of the things I LOVE about "TANKS" in general is that the kind of look... ALIVE! Sort of like Pre-Historic Creatures but in Metal! This has ALWAYS BEEN my ALL TIME FAV Tank and STILL IS! :D
I think if I were a tank crew back in WWII, I think I would have a sudden and severe internal explosion in my trousers if I saw that beast pointing its powerful gun at me.....:)
If you love jagdpanthers you owe it to yourself to read Panzer Spirit by Tom Townsend. It's a book about a possessed jagdpanter made of mithreal... if that doesn't sell itself I don't know what does.
Damn I love this tank. I am using that in battle supremacy and it is a legit tank destroyer. Tanks are no match with it's frontal Armor and it's firepower except Sherman Firefly👌
In addition to it being old kit that oval track they have has to put a lot more pressure on the brakes and steering than would normally be encountered even when they were new. I understand why they do it but at the same time it'd be a lot better on these old machines if they had a long straight away with a more agreeable turning radius.
Isn't it funny how they didn't get tired of claiming how unreliable german wwii tanks are, when the only tanks which reliable break down inside the arena are British. The Tiger, the King Tiger in France and all panthers I know of never failed during a presentation. The panther isn't that complex at all. It's just everything in a bigger scale. Armor, Gun, Engine and Tracks. I would call the 30 cylinder Chrysler engine of the Sherman fireflies a complex engine. That's a level of over engineering the Germans never reached.
I think this whole reliability argument is nonsense because behind that sits the economy that supports the frontline and the tanks. It can bring the parts to repair, the fuel, the capazity to test tanks etc. ... So it clearly is USA > Germany. Germany was under huge pressure and still brought up the best tanks in a very short time. If a tank gets developed today, it takes 10- 20 years or more.... What counts for me is the real combat effectiveness. And if you ask me: a T34 that rolls out of the factory to just die instantly (at the battle of kursk for example) has worse reliability overall than a tiger that melts an entire british push at villers bocage and gets some minor technical issues after doing his perfection....
@@ASMR.GentleMan It is, the effect of being on the losing side also has a large impact on the readiness of tanks. If you are constantly pulling back even the simplest of maintenance or repairs becomes almost impossible, a vehicle that had a broken track and can't be repaired or recovered because the enemy is right on your heels will be left behind. This is the massive advantage that both the Wester Allies and the Soviets are enjoying by mid 1943, they have taken the strategic initiatieve and they are forcing the Germans to fall back, their situation gets even better by mid 1944 when they successfully invade Normandy.
@@Dreachon Well technically it was not the Soviet that force the Germans to retreat it was the harsh 2 Russian winters that the Germans had to endure which the Germans were not prepare to deal with which the Germans suffer alot of deaths cause of the Russian winters which weaken the German army strength in Soviet Union in which the Soviet army put the final nail in the coffin for the German army as for the western allies to open up a western front that was to ease the German invasion of the soviet union cause USA and England knew that opening up another front will force Hitler to divide his resources and Military which will eventually drain the resources and materials that Germany needs for the war effort .
@@joeyreidelbach5509 The winter is far too often used excuse and people place far too much emphasis on it. The only winter that gave them problems was the witner of 41/42. For the witner of 42/43 they were a lot better prepared.
To me, the barrel on the Jagdpanther doesn't look large enough to be an L/71, 88mm. Looks more like a Panther barrel. I know that the King Tiger on outdoor display at La Gleize, that barrel was damaged and replaced with a Panther barrel because that was all they could get their hands on. Does anyone out the there have any answers?
The reason why I love Jagdpanther/JPanther: 1. It has a troll armor, enemy bounces shot even from Smasher or Tankenstein if you angle your frontal armor properly. 2. Amazing DPM with the right gun and you be spamming shells to the enemy. 3. Amazing tank to rush against enemy team if they are caught off guard. 4. Amazing mobility, can go 55 KM/H which is faster than the rest of its kind.
Its because driving the thing brings in fans and money, but you should rather not drive it, if it is prone to getting issues. would be sad to see it broken. i think its why it drives so slow. you want to shift gears as little as possible
I know i know! The actual days we have modern tanks and better. But no modern tanks exists if germans not the revolutioned the mecanized combat and variations of panzers and tigers have a large contribuition in military history. Panzers, tigers, panthers and light armored vehicles kfz's deserve respect and admirations. They fight for the reich yes, but wermacht and SS still different, the army never liked the scumbags of SS. But they just obey orders and be fooled with promisses with a better germany. Today is not different, all liders lie to your people with false promisses with glory, honnor, equal and a good life.
One of those tanks that was a purpose built anti tank death machine. Never produced in the numbers needed,....Thankfully! Still Very capable of defeating many modern armored units.not main battle tanks of course,.however using ambush tactics,...Even reactive armor may not help! After all they can’t put reactive armor everywhere!
In order for it to have any chance at killing a modern tank, it'd have to get beside or behind it. Despite the 88 mm being able to penetrate over 200 mm of steel with AP rounds, modern tanks like the Abrams and Leopard have 2-3 times that on the front
And how do we hit a convoy? Hit the front hard,.....Hit the rear even harder! Same time! They can’t go anywhere now! You have range and distance on anything they can pull out! Supply lines are always a weakness! Got to have fuel,ammunition,food,water......and personnel!
@@Kalashnikov413 Sorry... But you're wrong. If it doesn't have a turret, it's not a tank. Much like a submarine is technically a boat. Do you know why? I'll tell you... because it has a sail. Hence it is a boat, not a ship. And a tank destroyer, self-propelled guns or assault guns are technically not tanks! They are turretless so by definition they do not register as tanks. And that is definitive. Just like submarines are not, and cannot be, ships... They have a sail with a coming tower, though that part is not a prerequisite, so they must classify as boats. Thank you for your kind attention..
Mechanically, they were unreliable, needing complete engine and drive train replacement after 800 miles. The operational manuals limited the top speed to 70 percent to prevent the final drive from self destructing.
Please, can we use footage from your RU-vid channel for our videos about military cars, trucks a other machines? We tag your channel as a source ,... thank you. :)
shut up, If you were a tank commander of say a Cromwell, what would you do If you turned a corner and a Jagdpanther sits there and spots you within seconds? reverse? yeah right, at snail speed. no you would get shot and get blown up or at least get your tank disabled beyond working condition
The P.A. should be playing Das Panzerlied and the tank crew needs to be dressed in German panzer uniforms complete with the jaw-less skull and the pink piping around the collar and the proper hat.
Would love to chuck out all the complex mechanicals and replace with electric drivetrain. Then keep that exquisite engine to drive a generator to generate the electricity for the EV drivetrain
