This wasn't one of those trailers. They didn't show anything you didn't already read/hear about in the retellings of this story. And it actually looks amazing
To be fair unless they bend the truth quite a lot then most racing fans already know the story of Jann Mardenborough. I'm still looking forward to see how he is portrayed in this film though.
@@poetsgg9373 studios do what sells and makes money. They invest millions of dollars every month on trailers and marketing. If they continue to do this, it’s for a reason. People don’t skip trailers like this.
This movie will make everyone's plex servers happy. Definitely one of those movies you turn on while cleaning or folding laundry for good noise and eye candy when you want to look at something different.
"I know thia track, I've raced it a thousand times." I can honestly say I can envision every turn of Brand's Hatch in my minds eye, after decades of racing games. I'd love to have a go (at 35 kms/hr).
@@RespectAllGirlz Hey, being born earlier just makes me that much more experienced and knowledgable. I'll wipe the floor with your Y2Kid butt in Space Invaders or Raiden V. (or Outrun and Forza V).
This movie is based on a true story. There's a documentary on it for the boomer who didn't know..lmao Oh BTW, it wasn't a one off, The program is called GT academy.
I'm 39 and know Daytona ,Laguna Seca and a half dozen more world renowned tracks like the back of my hand thanks to countless hours of GT2. It's crazy it was two decades ago already.
I mean it really doesn't, this is genuinely based on a true story, it's not about the game as such, look up Jann Mardenborough if you care to enlighten yourself 👍
@@LPKelly380 But that was Nissan's failure, not Jann's or Gran Turismo. Jann is still a very accomplished race car driver regardless of Nissan's failure in making the GTR LM.
i have to agree that 1) this looks great 2) they told everything in the trailer (unless it turns out there is an alien subplot or this is a stealth Hellboy sequel).
written by the guy that wrote Red 2, the guy that wrote My Spy, and the guy that wrote American Sniper. There's no way that script is anything other than a fever dream. I love Blomkamp and honestly, im kinda heartbroken they got him to direct that script. This looks like it could be as good as the Halo TV series.
The Fast and Furious franchise would prove otherwise (they could have turned GT into a generic dumb-jock racing movie), but seeing as the story took place in the real world, it's a grounded angle that will probably work well (just as Tetris was the best way to do Tetris).
I sim raced with Jann, who this movie is about. I remember the day he came into our online lobby to tell us he won the competition. Some of the shots of cars racing in a cluster is not the way real race cars race, or even sim race. However, this should get a lot of kids excited. Yes, you can move from sim racing to real racing. I know plenty who have. Huge odds though, big, huge odds.
I agree, like the movie driven or driver, with Sylvester Stallone. They showed a computer program simulation on the track and one of the main characters keeps messing up his lines on simulation.
WOW..I am shock to see all the negativity in the comments section. This movie doesn't need your sanctimoniousness approval guys. I just went to see this in cinema and it is of course, better than your holier-than-thou feelings and attitudes. You don't put any expectation till you go and see it!
It's based on several True stories... Three GT winners that brought an endurance car home in one piece in a 24 hour race included... look up Brian Heitkotter, who raced for several years after winning GT academy for Nismo.
Just in case anyone was not aware, this is based off nissans front wheel drive car submission into Le'Mans LMP1 in 2014 or 2015. The kid who won the Grand Tourismo tournament did drive in Le'Mans of that year in their LMP1
I've always bee a fan of Gran Turismo since the 1st one. And what I always loved was that almost all the race courses are from ACTUAL race tracks and locations. Nothing false, or added or removed for the sake of the game environment wise (maybe for the exception of NPC's). Everything about the cars, how they would actually drive, and feel have always been legit.
Hello? From the 3rd of May, Korea/Seoul has been experiencing nationwide rain and wind. I hope it falls evenly without causing any damage and can be helpful for droughts, wildfires, and yellow dust. Also, I always support your wonderful/charming activities. I hope you have a healthy and positive week ahead. Thank you. ^^
Did not see that coming . As a veteran of Gran Turismo 1 and 2 on the Ps1 . I appreciate the effort .Its a hell of a force fit to get a plot going . But the tone difference between this and the game series is hilarious.
@@glockmaster9516 its also like saying air force pilots aren't athletes which undermines the skill and strength needed, albeit flying is definitely more impressive then racing point still would stand.
When it comes to cinema, I'm as cynical as it gets. And I was expecting to switch this trailer off after ten seconds...but I've got to be honest, it looks pretty good. Pretty, PRETTY good!
gran turismo movie looks interesting to watch on the big screen for a videogame adaption car racing set on a car racing track based on a true story looks pretty to watch in august with a pretty freat cast david harbour orlando bloom djimon hounsou
It's based on a true story. The career of Jann Mardenborough so yes, we know the story already. And like our reasons for why we have dvds and rewatch our favourite films each time they appear on tv (eg. Home Alone - every xmas / Aliens - whenever its on). And this my friends is directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9) and the trailer promises it'll be helluva entertaining. I'm in.
