I know what you mean. His word choice is still bizarre and questionable, but his tone of voice and body language are paradoxically more mature as well.
Been trying to popularize this theory since I saw it. Something tells me Greg never hooked up with that girl in episode 1. I think he sneaked away and penciled his name into the will. Doesn’t fully make sense cause he had no reason to believe Logan would die but it’s been eating at me since I saw a comment about it and I can’t let it go. Seems like such a Greg move.

I don’t think he was going to make Greg CEO - I think he was thinking about whether Greg would be useful to him in anyway or had any potential at the company, as at the last point that he considered Kendall as the next CEO, Greg had only just shown up. To Logan at that point Greg was a question mark. Logan was very set on one of his kids succeeding him and also he thought Greg was an idiot. I want to believe that Logan was just making a note to check that he had his name right though, that’s by far the funniest explanation.
Nobody will be laughing when Greg wins! (side note: I don't think it was just a doodle. Greg shows many of the qualities Logan was searching for in a successor. He doesn't care about anyone but himself, always has a back up plan, does whatever it is necessary to come out on top and is the only character who has never actually lost in the show. He always finds a way into the winning side somehow. He immensely benefit from other character's petty emotions, because as awkward and silly as he is, he never actually does something for anyone without expecting something in return. As the "serious" competitors step on each other's necks, I can see Greg profiting from the chaos and rising to the top.)
Gregg is a doodle on Logan's last wishes. That made me laugh so hard as it is the perfect representation of Gregs position and importance on Logan's life. He is just a doodle, an after though, someone to not take seriously.
I genuinely do think that the "Greg?" was Logan considering him as potential, even if only for a moment. For a start, he's family of course. But he has some genuine positives. He knows what the price of milk is, living a life that none of Logan's children have. He wants power, but it's not a crux for him: he can be patient, learn to back off before he seriously oversteps, not let his pride get the better of him. He might not be the kind of killer that looks you in the eye when he does it, but he absolutely has the cold Roy streak that Logan wants - and most of all, he's someone that Logan could confidently control (when alive) and mould as he sees fit. Would he be a good CEO? No. No. God no. Absolutely not. But maybe he's worth a pencilled-in name with a question mark.

Another point, Geri was having such a field day at this wake 😂 the woman was just told she's being let go prior to his death and because it wasn't actioned she's got power and a right to assert her opinion on the Succession. I love this show. The only person SHE THINKS has leverage over her on that is Romulus. 😂

I'm calling it. Greg knows about Ken's addiction, force him to unalive himself, so he can be the new CEO of Waystar. Or... he betrays Ken by telling Matsson his plans to "reverse viking", so that he can be the new CEO of Waystar.
i swear to fucking god this is going to be an important move for greg. the way he can play that shit? at this point in the season greg has been annoying increasingly so but i still trust that the sneaky bold bastard will find a way to win

@@rayzala1393 Maybe he decided to break off contact with the family, or maybe he will show up at the funeral. A wake does have religious significance too, so maybe Ewan is a hard core atheist and mised it but will come to the funeral. He was on bad terms with everybody in the family by this point. Hopefully he shows up. He has the sad ituation of being an older brother outliving his younger brother.
I think this moment solidified for me that Kendall’s name was actually crossed out because it signals back to Logan promising Greg that he would take care of him if he ignores his grandfather’s request to leave the company, which happened last season, and therefore was something Logan thought about recently. I think it shows that Logan was truly playing chess with his own family and recently crossed out Kendall after the end of season 3, perhaps foreshadowing what will eventually happen to Kendall at the end of the season.
