I don't remember everything that happened, but it ended with the Slayer's body ousting his soul as he basically turned into a Daemon Prince of Khorn on steroids, only for his incorruptible soul to be given new form by the Warp. At the end my brother then looked at me and said we basically accidentally rewrote the Doom Eternal expansion/DLC with 40k skins.

fun fact: originally in eight-legged freaks they wanted to use upscated 3D models of actual spiders but ran into the problem that the fear of real spiders often comes from them being small in the first place so when they upscaled them they found them adorable ("like a giant teddy bear") and had to make a new model from scratch to make them scary. My favourite part about the Flayer scene you mentioned is while the Imperial Officers see a monstrosity savaging them brutally, the main character who has succumbed sees his best friend gracefully and effortlessly slaying enemies as if it’s just a standard boarding action.

The thing that actualy scary about phosphex is the fact that the green fire never stop burning. Sometime digging through planet crust turning most of the things in contact into more combustible ... In short imagine a green fire that don't abid to the fire triangle.
