Its actually quite clever, they build up the death of his dad which led to him killing his brother on the side so we don't connect it that much, but it makes him capable of empathizing with Bruce and what he goes through.
The dynamic between Harley and Ivy with Ivy staying to the dark side and Harley playing hero is something I’m not surprised about. Harley, I believe, has always had a little more good in her than other DC villains. But maybe that’s just me? And Ivy’s outfit looks like the one from Batman: the animated series, just updated a bit. Also, the Macarena dance was everything😂
It’s not just you. Harley started out trying to help people before she met Joker. Even in this series that has stayed consistent. Ivy has always had a more neutral or evil origin. Being with Harley often makes her a better person and sometimes they even split up because Ivy feels guilty about her actions when with Harley and loses focus.
@@l0sts0ul89 Dude, Harly WAS a good person who wanted to help people. Yes, she brought Darkseid's army to invade earth and was first trying to become the greatest villain. However, that wasn't actually her but Joker's influence over her. While she is still crazy and admits that her actions are still her own, she is still trying to get over Joker's power and find the Harley that she used to be.
@@kentonjen8475 Just because she WAS good doesn't justify her intentions and the things she did, as for "it was Joker" that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard just an excuse for her actions. She's a bad person get over it. As you said she admitted it was all her and if she wanted to do good team up with Batman or become a therapist again.
Shark giving Bruce Wayne, _The Batman,_ a pep talk about letting go and not letting the past blind him was a cool bro moment. Especially the joke at the end when it's revealed the Bruce had 29 more years then Shark to handle his grief and is yet somehow in a worse state than Shark.
I mean to be fair he did see his parents die when he was like 8 years old, compared to Shark who is much older and much more capable of processing grief than young Bruce, also Bruce is definitely the type of person to just say he is fine and not get help
@@ilo3456 also Bruce as seen in the show reverse repressed the memory so he literally only repeatedly sees his parents murder. He is not handling his parents murder in an at all healthy manner.
@@andrewgreeb916 I mean he basically was a kid meaning his brain was not fully developed, the trauma caused his development to not be normal, he basically didn't move on but rather focused the trauma to his desire to do good, but it is unhealthy because he basically tortures himself.
The show may have its flaws. But I just saw poison ivy make a hoard of zombies do the macarena, you never know how much you need something truly absurd until you see it.
Not gonna lie I like this side of Batman actually being a dork and having issues about losing loved ones it shows that he is still a human and not a cold brooding badass hero we all see him as.
well clearly he has issues about losing loved ones in his "cannon" character too otherwise he wouldnt dress up as a bat and beat people senseless every night.
Now, It's obvious that K.S. was written to have a lighter / more laxed personality in this series, but you have to admit, his maturity and wisdom is rising above every other character as the story progresses! 🤔 1:49 (Well done D.C. ! That's the kind of writing that keeps your fan base engaged!) 👌😉😚😎🇺🇲
One thing I love about this show is that it's finally confronting the more fucked up parts of Bruce's psyche and showing that really he just needs to get himself some really good therapy which he avoids by being Batman.
1:15 King Shark: (laughing) Stop it, zombies...I'm ticklish... GET AWAY FROM ME!! Ooh...that was too much. King Shark is the most adorable thing, strolling through an army of zombies like it's nothing but a tickle fight.
This is going to end up being Harley Quinn's Hill to die on. And it just might end their relationship. Huge props to King Shark for helping Bruce realize he made a big mistake. He needed someone he's going through a similar situation more recently to tell him his experience.
It won’t lol the creators confirmed they aren’t gonna break up in this series. The end of the episode shows ivy choosing Harley over her dream, without hesitation.
@@minaberric4069 did they really though? What I saw just said they’re not putting Harley and Joker back together. That doesn’t automatically mean Harlivy is permanent. I could see them breaking up but then getting back together.
And soon he be back to his old self thank goodness, cause even know he’s not doing this cause of himself he can still be batman so that others won’t end up like him
There are a few comics where Bruce and Harley get married. So honestly I don't know. I hadn't watched the end of the episode at that point when I made the comment previously. I'm glad she chose Harley over her dream.
Ivy being a villain is something i didn't think i needed. It helps you remember they're all supervillains with their own plans to take over the city/world
An entire zombie army under her control, and rather than the Thriller dance Ivy makes them do the Macarena. King Shark's judgement of Bruce is nothing compared to what I'm feeling right now
Did she tell Harley that she was going to use zombies to kill innocents so she could terraform Gotham? I must have missed that.. could’ve sworn the original plan was to use Frank to terraform it instead.
@@clarkname9345 true but terraforming typically doesn't just ignore the civilians who are living in said area being terraformed, plus even then the plan specified terraforming everything except mama macaroni's so even if the people would be ok the city itself would be more or less leveled.
Ivy being the big threat at the end of the season is just brilliant! Especially because she stays the same person we've come to love, all her goofyness and caring for her friends is still there and she carries out her her evil plan from episode 1 like Harley kept encouraging her to do. I really don't think Harley can complain or be surprised now.
I love this characterization of Batman- granted, I didn’t consume much media about him growing up, but seeing him have these personal struggles that push him to do stupid things out of desperation is very interesting for his character. Unless he’s done this before and I’m unaware- if so, inform me
Well, while its not as bad as here, there was one thing I can think of. Batman and Superman (maybe some other heros, I don't remember) went back in time to stop someone from altering their pasts. Well when they went to Bats past, it was when his parents were merked. So what does Batman do after stopping the villian? Save his parents and does what the villain was going to do in the first place. It created an alternate timeline, and then everything went to crap. Sorry, but I don't remember all the details I read this years ago.
usually hes written being smart enough to realize that things like this are a bad idea lol. Hed at least take the parents hes resurrecting out of the graveyard filled with a bunch of other potential zombies first.
Shrooms are pretty hit or miss. Some people get an amazing high off them, others just get kind of nauseous. Try the shrooms before you attempt any activities after taking them.
I like this as much as I like Doctor Psycho going rogue and controlling the parademons. I like the characters as they are but as villains, it's epic seeing them go full villain once in awhile.
this episode gave us ideas on the finale. Harley Vs Ivy might be coming with a breakup too. we saw that harley actually has mercy and cant continue with people dying. when doing the plan people are gonna die. harley might not agree and harley vs ıvy might be coming
The creators said they wouldn't break up, and season 4 has a poster of the two of them riding in a car together, so I'd say the relationship isn't over.
I don’t know… call me too much of a romantic or whatever the correct answer would be. But I’m seeing some potential in Harley and batgirl. Yes I KNOW about the age gap. But I’d like to point out that bat girl also slept with Bruce. Sooo…. Maybe I’m looking too deeply into it. But hey I can’t say one way or the other whether Harley and ivy will break up. I doubt it but I always keep an open mind
@@nagisashirayuki3871 hey being partially insane myself you can keep that tucked away and have a normal relationship. Not saying it’s gonna be perfect but doing a bit soul searching doesn’t hurt as well being honest with your partner. And from what I’ve seen, yeah Harley is insane but her villainy is taking a backseat more and more, hell joker became the damn mayor! Ivy’s the one who’s really going off the deep end and going full villain
@@bryanegelhoffsanimationtec257 It's highly possible, in the comics the two have this love and hate relationship because Harley actually decided to be a hero while Ivy didn't. I get a feeling the show is slowly heading to a direction where Harley would work with Joker (who is the mayor of Gotham) to make Gotham a better place.
Like that as ivy is becoming more villainous she becomes visually more similar to her original comic counterpart. In contrrast to harley who shifts from her original comic counterpart visually
“I just wanna bring my zombie parents back to life” *Flashback to the part where Tim tried cloning Conner, or him trying to get the Lazarus pit to revive his dad, best friends, and girlfriend!*
@@sayanApprentice095 really?? I don't know now they can drive batmobile Bc the most of the time batman always tell them not to touch anything in Bat-mobile
I'm so glad this show is calling out Bruce's dead parents bullshit. I hate seeing it everytime I watch a Batman media and was happy King Shark said he's judging Bruce for holding on to his memories too long.
Pretty sure having your parents getting killed when you were like 12 isn't something you just get over, oh yeah killed right infront of you however. Harley is the one who should get over shit.
1:40 I mean.. He could actually be able to do that. I mean he cured people turned into vampires in that one movie, so given enough time he probably COULD do it.
I love that it isn’t a epic build up reveal who is the mastermind - they showed a restaurant. It could’ve been Bruce Wayne’s favorite restaurant, Catwoman’s, Superman’s - but this is the sole piece to show its Ivy.
Yep that new power has for sure corrupted Ivy's damn mind! Also King Shark is completely right about Bruce here and how he should've just healed deep down and gotten over this a long time ago.
Ivy one my fave, the fact she in arkam arrives of games will work with batman knowing he will indead remove every plant fro. Gotham and burn them just to make her stop her attacks shows the actual power she has and respect Bruce has to her power
She already had flaws: she was the kind of person who cheats while still in a committed relationship instead of breaking it off first, and she was a bad friend to Swamp Thing.
@@jonathanperrott2298 yeaaah... she was too good for one person. And she have dark and mysterious background story. So edgy! We won't show it, but believe us, she was baaaad.
Ivy Looks MAGNIFICENT!!!! Can I just say how great this show has been Seriously, did not see it becoming this brilliant Joker playing family man King shark having family troubles Harley and ivy getting together It's all just brilliant I like how every character is getting a decent spot
Its like the fungus from RE 7, it grows inside of the zombies and puppeteers them and when the zombies vomit it gets out and immediately starts to grow on other stuff
The zombies aren't exactly zombies so much as corpses being puppeteered by plant monsters. So the zombies aren't puking living plants so much as the plant monsters inside the corpses are just spreading their seeds/growth goop via the mouth...probably because doing it out the butt is too weird even for the plant monsters.
Kinda Ironic In other shows, Harley *IS* secrectly her own Anti-Heroine at heart or becomes officially a full fleshed Super heorine. Just look at DC Super Hero Girls that *wasn't* made by Lauest Faust!
I love the menacing music, I wish she had a few more episodes to be just- completely a villain. Especially since the trailer set it up to be a bigger feature. Still, it's so cool to see
