Out of all the things I expected from this game, fighting Scrooge McWolf’s Mech Suit while a techno remix of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony played in the background was NOT one of them.
What makes the Roquefort fight unique from a story perspective is that Chai seems genuinely scared during this fight. He makes no jokes the entire time, he gets bodied in cutscene, and even when he won, he just got mad lucky that money fell on top of Roquefort and is dead tired after the fight
Yeah, I honestly didn't really like the way he got killed off there. It didn't feel like an accomplishment, but more so as a "..That was it?" I don't hate it though, I mean I guess it fits in shape with the game's humor so it's not out of place or whatever. I just wish I could've finished him off myself heh.
Imma be real. I did not expect to fight a giant Mech werewolf accompanied by one of the best boss tracks I’ve heard in my life that matches the character and his personality. A++++ Bethesda and Tango.
Agreed, and I love how they incorporated a bit of Beethoven's 5th Symphony into it at the start and sprinkled throughout the track as well. It fits Roquefort perfectly since I have a feeling he'd be one to listen to and enjoy classical music. He may also listen to classical music to control his anger.
- has by far the least screentime out of the bosses - is head of the most evil department of the company - always on the grind - don't give a fuck about your power of friendship - becomes the most badass boss out of all - don't even beat him, needs to be saved by deus ex machina (in universe they acknowledged he only lost because of BS) What a Chad
bro was literally canonically stronger than the final boss by raw power, and has the best boss theme in the game (particularly with the rising guitar notes during his special attack not present here)
You fight an expy of the infamous Wolf of Wall Street…who can turn into a giant mecha werewolf…and his boss theme is done by a guy named Wolfgang… SO MANY LAYERS, MAN. This is brilliant.
I’ve seen someone in a video on the fight talk about a Dutch term called a “geldwolf” or money wolf, so it obviously makes sense here too, he talks about money, and he’s a werewolf!
My first playthrough was on very hard, and for my first attempt at this level I felt so good S ranking every chorus prior to Roquefort. Then I actually reached Roquefort and died 19 times
So there's a mod for Deep Rock Galactic that swaps in Hi-Fi Rush music. Lemme tell you, hearing the iconic DUN DUN DUN DUNNNNN when starting a Dreadnaught fight is pretty damn incredible
Interesting how they handled the anti-claim version of the songs. Obviously they had the rights to use these songs but live stream services would likely still pick up the songs. It was very thoughtful of the devs to do this. This is quite the remix of a remix :)
Just realized that My Man actually was the only boss who wasn’t defeated by Chai, it was the money that stopped his rampage honestly thinking about how long the fight would have lasted WITHOUT that funny ending……jeez man, this is what you call a boss
I'm not a musical guy, but interesting thing for me is that the music for Roquefort went electronic. I consider it a great feature by devs, making Chai who is driven by passion, complete randomness and representing rock confront coldblooded, focused on high numbers boss of finance who represents electronic music
Cause technically you haven’t beaten him, Roquefort literally said right before end that “As long as you keep making me mad, you’ll never win” when Chai tries to assert his victory, and we never actually see him die just see him get encased in gold coins. Usually when there’s been no real sign of defeat/death for a character they’ll be returning. Ultimately Chai didn’t beat Roquefort, Chai just managed to survive and take his passkey. Every boss goes out in some explosion when killed, but that didn’t happen with Roquefort.
@@stevencampbell348 oh yeah that I do know, in his Model Viewer “Roquefort(Wolf)” mentions how powerful he his that Chai’s ability alone isn’t enough to stop him and needs a “Dues Ex Machina” (Those that don’t know what that is, it’s plot device used to bring a solution to a insolvable situation) and at the end of the info it says “that will conveniently make it self known” either hinting that his own greed for more profits caused his defeat(what made me feel unsatisfied) or that he could show up in a sequel or DLC. If that happens I’ll get my satisfaction on beating him for good.
@@xgamermarco the actual term you’re looking for is “Deus Ex Machina”, not “ex deus machine”. Yeah I agree that the money taking him out of the picture was a let down but it does have me suspecting his appearance in a potential sequel.
This fight felt of for some reason and i just figured it out unlike a lot of the other bosses this track has no lyrics just oppressive silence and chai get his but kicked adding to the feeling
@@c4ndyl0ve thats a great little add in. The deluxe edition has a t shit thats says, "i boight the deluxe edition and all i got was this stupid t-shirt"
I am the only one who think Roquefort is not Death? Personally i think that the Werewolf form cant Survive all the gold of the scene In a secuel well be good to see him again against Chai in another Boss battle
@@hangeloarias7580 Roquefort you could argue is Dead or Alive, but Zanzo is no argument, literally all that happened to him was getting smacked by a guitar once
Es curioso que en hi-fi rush y no straight roads tengan de cantidad de jefes. Son 7 (bueno en nsr hay un jefe que tiene 3 batallas opcionales) 🦹🏻♂️🦹🏻♀️
This song an the boss it's attached to made me love a game I will never play. I suck at rhythm games. But Microsoft just deleted the studio, which means the game's support is gone too, even if I wanted to play, I 'll never be able to.
Hey I suck at them too but the great thing is that this game doesn’t punish you for it. You can still get sick S rank combos and the like. Hitting the button on beat just means extra points.
