Excellent video. Nice to see the history and evolutions over the years of these Historic Sports Sedans. Please do some more of this style of video as you have time and see the cars, they are appreciated.
Plan is to certainly do more, the biggest hurdle is getting owners to give up some time and then finding period pics/videos and getting permission to use them. There's definitely a few Tassie cars to cover, hopefully later this year 👍
Awesome video on an awesome car, top job and look forward to more background vids on the Sport Sedans/other categories vehicles. Keep up the quality work!
Oh' isn't that the truth about exhaust manifold warping problems with high boost applications, I owned a turbo LJ for 13 years, that I pushed beyond 20 PSI boost. After trying several different types of manifold gasket I found that the best solution was just a big blob of Black Silastic (Gorilla Snot).
Having raced an XU1 Chev I can guarantee it will be faster than any 6 cyl one. And be consistent and easier to drive than any turbo. Even my first Chev with probably 350hp would beat Irving head cars. With HQ Brakes! In the end it had 300+ more and was a top 10 car in national company, occasional top 5. And on AGP track, Sandown, PI was the second quickest car in a straight line. Though not in lap time. And still a very simple low buck car.
I reckon if he took that car to Scotty at Haltech (with a few bucks in hand of course) Scotty could wrangle a much more manageable load of horses and torque out of that little beast.
